C.D.R. PoetThe news everyone is talking aboutThis podcast used to cover the news that other outlets and commentators were overlooking, and they still state that as their mission. But, in actuality, these days they talk about the most popular news stories. The focus has always been Black, and still is, but they have caved to the pressure to have opinions on big headlines rather than trying to elevate smaller headlines. In that regard, they are no longer driving the conversation like they once were; they are following it. I'd love to see them regroup and recommit to their original mission, because there is still a void in coverage there.

AKA Queen MabA dope pod and a must-listen!Smart, fun hosts and non-cookie-cutter topics. I love that this pod branches out and covers so many interesting stories that don't typically get enough attention.

rosess2020Vanilla journalismIm curious to hear y’all’s thoughts on Cornel West running for president? I was disappointed this morning on the Tim Waltz commentary as if he is a good bland guy. Ain’t no one need that man. I’m surprised that yall forgot who ordered the national guard during the George Floyd protests that yall like to bring up so much. This man is pictured with the fascist Benjamin nehenatu (I don’t care to look that up to spell it right) Waltz is also actively promoting and working on building a stronger Minnesota-Israel partnership. As if occupied Palestine is not experiencing mass starvation and murder by bombs by the IDF. If only yall would talk about cop cities being built and genocide that’s happening under our “precious left”.

justice4nowThank you! So inspirational and REAL.In the Unprecedented Times episode, y’all have surpassed yourselves in your absolute honesty and sharing a realistic view of America which more real than what we are usually fed. Thank you. I’m sharing this with everyone I know. Plus you gave such real specific actions that anyone can do. A huge thanks and much LOVE from a Lululemon wearing white ( rural) woman.

SA happyGreat show, great podcast, thank you!!Today’s episode “The Great Class Collapse” is an outstanding example of a consistently excellent podcast. I love it whenever all four of the hosts—DeRay, Kaya, Myles and De’Ara—are in conversation. They go so deep! Their perspectives overlap, but they don’t hesitate to challenge one another. You give me so much to think about, challenge me to be a better person, and share such excellent links to follow up and learn more. Thank you! -Susan in southern Illinois

bills34InterestingEntertaining pod with fun banter among the crew. Love that they tackle current topics in the news and aren’t afraid to push back with light arguments.

korb 🍉Crooked ReliefFinally, a take from crooked that represents those who are conflicted between the harm reduction of toeing the “progressive” party line vs the very real implications of our govt actions in Palestine. I thought I was losing my mind for a couple weeks. So grateful for this show.

RCaitlinThe Sky Is FallingMiles was on fire this episode! Such excellent points raised by Miles, including the need to take into account socioeconomic inequality when trying to promote a democratic agenda/accomplishments to the black community. Student debt relief helped so many but what about those who didn’t go to college? How are we making schools better so kids want to go to college, and how are we going to take on criminal justice reform? Great episode - thank you!

Suthern_Hippie💜💜💜💜Always love the topics and the information I learn. Keeps me fresh with what’s going on behind the scenes of our world. I always start my Tuesday with coffee and this pod. Thank you!

MisMikeWhy such bad Audio issues???Guys your Podcast is amazing but as a listener it just sounds like a bad zoom call half the time now. What has gone on with your audio issues the last few episodes??? there is either someone’s mic live, and there’s constantly rustling in the background (very distracting) or in this latest episode someone’s dogs barking entirely cutting off DeRay. Please just mute yourselves when you’re not speaking, or entirely re-record a portion prior to releasing. There is no reason to post a portion that has SO MUCH background interference.
-
MWilsoneWhy is the sound quality always so low?I use to love the show with the original crew. I have come around to the changes, but often have to stop listening because one or more of the hosts or guests seem to be phoning in with a bad connection or something is mis-wired and it hurts my ears to try to make out the words through the static and feedback and I just skip the rest of the episode. It’s obviously a professional podcast otherwise, and I’m not sure why the crooked media team doesn’t care more about the technical quality.
-
SueTnExcellent podcast!I love the diverse viewpoints and the respect in this space. I learned so much from one episode!
-
KatieKpeaceful3Always enjoyingLove this podcast, I’m always learning something new, hosts have me laughing and sometimes crying. Highly recommend to get a sense of untold news .
-
RodandConI love y’all!!That’s it! 😘

BIGlittle box in the makingPolitical WesponryI listen to keep up with current thinking in progressive circles. This episode talks about the effect on Dollar Generals on communities, which I’ve seen in my 99% white, rural, Western, almost 100% White area. Democrats take heed!
-
Adh1626Love it!Thoughtful & funny (Miles’ description of Ann Coulter’s racist rant about India and Nikki Haley had me on the floor!)And I love the Blackest book review!
-
kooojgijjjjiToday’s episode was 💯I’ve been meaning to leave a review for a while because of all the podcasts I subscribe to- I always listen to this one! I really appreciate you all for bringing these stories to my phone. I love that your podcast is NOT covering the same old stories every single other podcast is each week. On top of all that, you all are some of the only people I hear speaking openly and honestly about all the stuff. I don’t have to fill in all the things not being said, I can actually just listen and feel heard at the same time. Thank you so much 💛

yennnyyJoyThe interviews are fantastic but my favorite part is always just listening to y’all be together. You bring me joy during my commute (especially Miles omgggg)!
-
Jaymie H.Love the pod but miles….I love the pod but I can do without Miles and his commentary. His news is never really news and his responses to everybody else’s news is never really thought provoking. I enjoy the others and I always learn something new when I listen.
-
Rema VineyardLove this PodcastThis interview w Kevin Hazzard is wild!! Please tell me you all are working on the movie!
-
k hinsonJohnny DeppAmber Hurd was the Aggressor. People act like a man cannot be victims of domestic violence. If you listen to the case and wash the case you can see, they lied on him and try to provoke him.
-
HengyangWorth the listenThis podcast is way off the radar but shouldn’t be it’s so relevant & worth the listen!!!!
-
Hel-raiserToo much focus on entertainmentI have been a long-time fan of this podcast and rely on it for underreported news on policing and prisons, as well as education and environmental racism. My enjoyment has been lessened in the last year since so much time has been dedicated to dissecting the latest racist tweets and celebrity culture. I have The Read and Keep It for that. Yes, entertainment and celebrities reflect and shape culture, but it’s just not as important or interesting as the political machinations that are happening outside of public view. Wish this pod would go back to a focus on journalism.
-
YohannanPod Change Our IgnoranceI’m white. I’m 70. I’m female. I’m a Democrat. I’m a news junkie. And I learn soooo much every week listening to this amazing team of brilliant voices tell me the under reported stories of the day, the week, and the century. Thanks to all of you 🫶🏻

-
DulceSupreme327Real News and not just doom and gloomIt’s nice to hear stories focused on the black and brown experience that align with my values. I always feel a little uplifted by the interviews and love hearing the voices of the members give their takes on things.
-
QT McGrueThe best of Crooked MediaI love the news you share. I love hearing topics that aren’t being discussed enough. Your insight and humor are great. Unlike the rest of Crooked Media, you’re not mean and catty. Thank you! DeRay, why do you say your twitter handle like that? It’s hard to understand what you’re saying.
-
Raj FanVan InterviewGreat chat! Thank you. No mention of his Oscar win, however. Would have been nice to learn about that journey.

Rose of MiddletownFantastic PodcastThis podcast never disappoints. Great hosts with thoughtful perspectives on news and events. Fantastic guests. Always thought provoking and always leaving me with something to think about or to dig into a bit more when I’ve finished listening.
-
WellmandudeDeray seems sketchySeems like he took Sam Sinyangwe’s Mapping Police Violence idea for his project Campaign Zero, then staging an arrest at a BLM protest, and numerous Twitter spats, I think they need a new host. Crooked has gone down the tubes. Libs do wokeness bad, socialists do it better!
-
sofiaevOne of my favorite podcastsLove the family, the news the bring, and the conversation. I definitely prefer when they can all share their news with each other because I like hearing the reactions from each contributor. It’s a little less enjoyable when they have to set-record their news. I love Miles’ perspective but think they maybe need to edit their scripts a little more before presenting as sometimes I think they get a little too wordy and some of the best nuggets of wisdom they share seem to get lost in the other, less essential ones.
-
Lookey pookeyGreat showLove hearing about the stories that aren’t covered elsewhere. 2/22 episode where the team thanks twitter users for their shout-outs was cute. Still waiting on deray to discuss the claims that he’s trying to shut sam out of his police brutality database and assert it as his own. Don’t love that cloud hanging over what is an otherwise great show.
-
fizo!Too many adsReally like this podcast, but 8 whole minutes of ads before the show even starts? Not a fan
-
USFunkleGreat perspectives. Too many ads narrated by hosts. This show is excellent. It broadens my perspective and insights every time. However, the ads are getting out of control. This morning’s show had 8 MINUTES of the hosts reading ads before the actual content and discussion started. Several minutes of ads are also spread throughout the show several times as well. This degree of narrated advertising from hosts seems unprecedented to other podcasts and unfortunately degrades the show and makes the voices of the incredible and talented hosts feel like paid mouthpieces.
-
podcast listener chi townGreat listenDeray is a great host and brings the listener along his journey to learn something new from his guests. He challenges himself and his fellow hosts to bring a topic to each podcast to consider and challenges the listener to delve deeper, think critically, open yourself to other perspectives. It’s the history class we should have been exposed to.
-
lmdhicksReally enjoy this show. The hosts are engaging, and the topics are so interesting. I love that the hosts reference specific articles that I save and reference later. The topics vary from episode to episode, but they all focus on lifting up a specific issue that’s not getting enough attention. The show isn’t super heavy though. The topics can be heavy, but I always feel empowered after an episode. Huge fan.
-
ThatGuyJay23Get the Photos episodeWow, love this. Thank you for talking about what’s happening in Tigray. I’ve been following along and love that y’all got someone who is actually from Tigray to speak on it. I’ve seen too many ppl who aren’t from there trying to cover up what’s happening
-
YM SZNTigrayThank you for giving our families a voice. For 266 they’ve been in darkness. The phone lines are currently cut off. Weaponized rape & hunger. No banks or food.
-

-
miggyc45De’Ara is amazingggggI love De’Ara’s energy
-
TG PSTPThe best!I found this podcast while searching for a more diverse set of voices covering daily news. The hosts always bring really interesting news not covered in the national news, and have the BEST guests. Their guests cover such a wide range of subjects that are always fascinating. I am constantly locked into to every episode, I love listening every week!
-
MistahTallymanUsed to love - too biased nowUsed to enjoy and learn new things. I still think it’s informative but too many recent episodes have me scratching my head. Can we believe the science? Yes. We can believe the science.
