iambheidiA profound calling 1/4/23Hi, I am reading your book “Learning to Pray,” and just had the thought “look for Fr. Martin on podcasts.” Well, I see there is a new episode today! I’m not sure if this used to be a podcast since I only see one episode but previous reviews. In any case, I’m grateful for this SIGN and excited to dive in. This is a great first episode and loved learning about Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton.

amazing padcastAmazing podcastThis is the best reflection podcast that I have ever listened to! I love to reflect on it at night, and the music in the background is so peaceful that it puts me to sleep right away! Thank you fr. James Martin SJ for this amazing podcast, and thank you to America media to. Siena H

UndertitterStay away or risk your soul.Fr James Martin is an apostate and heretic. To listen to his voice is to hear the voice of the enemy of God. Pray for him so that he may be turned to truth and his soul may be saved. Listener beware, your eternal soul is at risk by listening. He’ll awaits if James does not repent and become right with God.

Grasshopper1965Concerned about lack of new materialThis would be a five star review but we notice there hasn’t been a new reflection in three years. The intro and the advertisement at the end have changed—some new reflections would be nice to hear as well.

Mare147Thank you!Dear Father Jim, I stumbled upon your Examen meditation online and feel so blessed. I plan to end each day with this beautiful spiritual practice. I thank God for bringing me to you at the end of this day. With a grateful heart. Mary

See docAwareness of JesusThis is a wonderful podcast. Having been exposed to Jesuit education since seventh grade, this is the first time I have been guided by a Jesuit to do the Examen. I’m now 69 years old ! My good friend, brother in faith and role model, Charles Beirne SJ, may have tried to expose the Examen in the many days we spend together at school, Jesuit residence, and home and on several social ministries but I never knew he was doing it. So here I am now exploring the Examen in a habitual way and hoping to let others know about it. Thank you to the Jesuit Community and Father Martin.

lost apple remoteWonderful way to get connected with GodFr Martin’s Examen starts my day. I reflect on where God presented in my day. My family, fellow men and women, and nature top my list. I feel God-focused instead of self-focused as a result of using this podcast. I am grateful for Fr Matin and American Catholic Media. God Bless, Dave F.

luce.a__Love it!I love this! It has replaced my other meditation apps. This feels like a genuine and simple way to use a modern tool to pray and wind down.

MartaRamblerFull meditation not downloading this weekI am having a problem with receiving the entire meditation this week. Yesterday, the podcast would not go beyond minute 8. Today it quit right after the daily reflection. I hope that this can be corrected. It’s a wonderful way to end, or occasionally start, my day.

rubytallullahGratitudeThese last few weeks have been dark and difficult. I am most grateful for the hope, even in glimmers, that is provided here.

bGuilesPlease keep giving this life-saving daily helpI have been enduring a relentlessly increasing tragedy that began a year ago yesterday. Its excruciating pain increasingly intensifies and threatens to destroy me and my mother. Fortunately I stumbled upon your podcast last night and of the hundreds of Christian podcasts I have, this is the only one giving the daily step-by-step assistance I need to hopefully endure and not succumb to the Enemy. Please keep it up and help rescue and save this life. Thank you.

Cantor LouYou made my LentOne of my Lenten disciplines was making a practice of praying the Examen, and this podcast has been a godsend. My wife, a Protestant prays it along with me, and it has been a great consolation. I have recommended it to lots of people. Thanks, Louis Lobenhofer

ndultrarunnerExamenGreat way to start the day. I listen on my drive to work. It allows me to reflect on the previous day and how I might do better on this day.
-
alexgarza73I need this gentle daily reminder. This is one of the highlights of my day. Please continue them after Lent.
-
FlounderusmcEnjoying it so farI pray the Examen everyday, but I’m self taught from reading and an app. With Father Martin’s coaching during the episode I found that it hit me at a deeper level. I found a moment of God’s love that I nearly overlooked in my examen of the day
-
kelrishGreat content but too longI love the examen with Fr. Martin and hoped to have a daily practice during Lent. However, this really drags. The long instrumental pauses caused my mind to wander and become distracted. It would be great if it wasn’t so long.
-
DorothysgirlBeautiful! This is just what’s needed. I felt so at peace and determined that tomorrow will be better than today. What a great way to end the day (or begin), at peace with God! Thank you so much!

Puppy Love 715Praying the ExamenWhat a wonderful gift from Fr. Jim Martin, SJ and America Magazine. Fr. Jim’s guiding voice is gentle and peacefully leads me into prayer. This podcast will work better, for me, than using other apps or trying to focus on this prayer by myself.
-
MacPacLucyGreat for Newbies!Thank you Fr. Martin for this wonderful opportunity to experience The Examen. I’ve always wanted to try it. This podcast is the perfect opportunity to incorporate it into my Lent!
-
Blue penguin 14Thank You!This is a wonderful spiritual resource based on an old idea from St. Ignatius. We prayed this examen as a family (4 daughters) last night and everyone enjoyed it. Thanks to America Media for all the time and energy that goes into producing it. Thanks also to Fr. Martin! We continue to pray for you here in El Salvador!

Kcc1953The ExamenSmooth, unforced, genuine guided reflection over the day. Not too slow for my attention span. A regular tone of voice. Love the piano.
-
La La La :)Finally!Excited for this to start up! I have been hoping for this for some time now.
-
MommyDonnaThe ExamenA beautiful way to end each day. Particularly helpful if your mind tends to wander in the silence because Fr. Martin’s voice gently brings you back to the heart of the experience.
