Good interviews of a narrowed perspective
By the title you'd think this would be a fair and balanced examination of the arguments for Neo-Darwinian evolution and the Intelligent Design movement, but you can't judge an audiobook by its thumbnail. What is presented are a series of interviews with a wide variety of intellectuals who offer their perspective on the subject, but to say that the perspectives are balanced between the two sides would be saying a quarter equals a dollar. All of the interviews are conducted very well with mixed results in audio quality. Mr. Rennie does a good job of keeping the interview moving and doesn't often try to steer the interview in any particular direction, instead letting the person speak their mind. The issue, though, is that 20 of the 25 interviews are all skewed to a very pro-Intelligent Design or Creationist position leaving only one interview with a scientist who actually studies and teaches evolutionary biology and a sprinkling of others who are speaking more about the general concepts of science, but not specifically on evolution. None of the concepts presented from the ID perspective are given any refutation, nor are the arguments FOR evolution even presented. This is great if you want a general overview of the ID position and perspectives from outside mainstream science, but useless if you're looking for any comparison between ID and evolutionary theory.
