F. UnyunMust listenMy favorite history podcast. Has gotten me through some very long trips.
-
bikinghawkShane is greatThe Mystery of Montague is a must listen. Amazing story and even better storytelling.
-
Playing ProStorytelling at its finestShane Ryan is a brilliant storyteller!! One of the best in the business. A true joy to listen to … He takes you on a journey that is intriguing, vivid, with a voice made for “radio” … A must listen, for golf and non-golf fans alike … 5+ stars 👍
-
ardehrinnbbhLoved Charlie Sifford story! Thanks for creating a space for this history of golf that is not told often enough
-
Lauren2347Fun and informative!Great listen!
-
jd5344Great Storytelling! Some fun and interesting stories in and around the world of golf that are told in an interesting way. A lot of golf podcasts exist, but longer form ones such as LK stand out in a crowd of weekly LIV v PGA rehashing.
-
Manchego EscaladeInteresting stories, whether you are a golf fan or notShane definitely doesn’t slack off when it comes to sharing background on golf’s history and characters. Highly recommended for golf, sports, history fans.
-
jamiesontwGreat PodcastAlways insightful. Love the show!
-
Kiernan77Boring.This guy speaks very slowly. It is a manner which suggests he is savoring his own words. And at least for the Gary Player cheating episode, there was an unbearable bed of piano music in the background. Jesus Christ. Is this GolfDigest now? Wow do I feel old. I bet this podcast remembers when you could buy a bag of hard candy for a nickel.
-
smacmyersLocal KnowledgeUse to listen to this podcast when interesting stories were researched and told. Latest approach is not for me,, I’m out.
-
GhgfgyyhhThis could be a much better podcast ifIf you wouldn't speak, as if everybody knows just what you're talking about when you make references. If you would go into more of the facts of what happened during the Ryder Cup and talking about individual performances by players. If you would give some background and context to the things that you're saying because not everybody follows Golf as closely, even though we may be interested. We make a living in other ways and we're busy. That's why we come to a podcast like this one. This is terrible reporting. It is more like a bunch of guys getting together and chatting and it's not a good use of my time.
-
JCW@1Easy guys!I listened to the Ryder Cup trilogy and read his book. Enjoyed both. This “RC Rascals “ is a bit like a frat house drunk house! Stick to the content!
-
BReid9The REAL stories in Golf*Since March 6, 2023, the golf related stories that are being told on this podcast are GOLDEN. The episode about Ronald Reagan at Augusta was well told, while offering an incredible amount of detail and witty humor that kept me captivated the entire time. Please keep this series going.. there’s no other golf podcast with this type of content and quality.
-
Lenny allcaa 1985SeveThis was an outstanding episode because it is hard to break Seve down in an hour and a half pod. But this was well done. Thanks and you have a loyal listener now.
-
whathicknameSound controlTopics and content are very good, but shows are almost un-listenable due to poor sound volumes consistency. Ex: volumes go up and down depending on the speaker, and even worse when playing “clips”. Sound goes down so far you cannot hear, the jumps up.
-
WWWalshYou’ve been betterThe Feb. 13, 2023 episode was difficult to listen to.
-
JPaulTFull Swing Thoughts: Episode 1Content is good and worth a listen. This particular review, however, is on the Full Swing Thoughts episode reviewing the Netflix docu-series. The full review of episode 1 came out 2 days before it was released to the public. I understand the guys have access to a pre-release of the episode, but was it the intent to discuss the pros and cons, personal opinions of the episode in full detail, before fans can watch it? It seemed to spoil the content and surprise. Still a fan of the Local Knowledge Podcast.
-
cullebryOminous year clickbaitShould’ve been titled ominous podcast, based on the title you’d think they’d get right into why it was an ominous year in golf, no they talk about big prize money on women’s golf and how the host had an amazing golf buddies trip, who cares about winning a buddies golf vacation! You need a real producer who will tell you how to avoid self indulgent dweebish diatribes! What a waste of my time!
-
JumiryOften InterestAlthough I find some of the shows a bit silly, most are quite good, especially the show about racism on the golf course and the show on Moe Norman.
-
Coolbean911Very good show!!I have been more than impressed with the quality of the program!!
-
otto6457Really enjoying the podThe “Crash Course Golf Overhaul” episode was really great. Gives some of us older golfers hope that the clock can be turned back a little with some proper instruction and dedication.
-
Red LumberGreat title and content to matchI listen to many golf podcasts but this return to the home of Golf Podcast has me writing a “thumps up” and first ever review. First took notice of Local Knowledge with the lead up to the US Open. Looking forward to the crew’s next exploits.
-
focsteveBest Golf PodcastI have listened to a number of different golf podcast and I find this to be without question the best. As opposed to just banter and commentary, the show delves into many behind the scenes aspects of the game and tour itself. The topics really help provide a better understanding of both. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys or follows the sport.
-
Fiona milanoPro living in CostaricaWow , love it! So different from what we always read about tour players , my father in law died from that decease at 75 but is a very debilitating one , Im glad he is trying different options, hopefully we’ll see him back at on the Tour someday !
-
PrisSinghPro golf’s mental health reckoningThis was an insightful episode to hear about athletes/golfers experiences with their mental health. While the intro captures both female and male athletes mental health challenges, the episode focuses on pro male golfers and their experiences. It would be great to follow up this episode up with female pro golfers/athletes experiences too.
-
SkutrbumGreat Show!I really enjoy this podcast. It has interesting content that a different than your typical golf stuff, and has a good production format. Well done!
-
J15blazerGreat show- entertainingEnjoying the insights, stories and format. Good length and topic diversification. (New season (3) is great…Not much a fan of the previous style/format.)
-
Jdogg48Great insightFor the golfer that loves to learn about little details inside the game this is a great podcast. I have listened since the first episode dropped and look forward each time a new episode is available. Loved the latest “cheat code” episode
-
McCannTHighly recommendListen and you can learn a lot about the greatest game ever invented.
-
paulfmcdTwo thumbs upQuality show, each episode is well prepared, well thought out, and professionally presented. This is the best golf podcast by far that I listen to and it’s also one of the best podcasts of any genre that I listen to. Job well done thank you I really enjoy the show
-
cj199311Ads, ads and more ads.A 25 minute episode had 5-10 minutes of ads. Quality of the pods aren’t good enough to warrant that many advertisements.
-
EL29291A breath of fresh airThere are so many podcasts out there that are basically all the same: people yelling over each other, trying to be funny and telling us who’s gonna win the Tour event this week. This is such a great change of pace: thorough storytelling, high production value and compelling topics. Always a great half hour!
-
andy-califOh Sh..t the mystery of a golf slumpKnow yourself while playing golf to eliminate doubt. As mid handicapper have gone through slumps, this episode sheds light on what some pros go through and their recovery. Enjoyed it and it encouraged me!
-
ClydethegolferBest golf podcastReally enjoy this podcast. There are over 100 golf podcasts and personally I am not too interested in who is going to win on tour or some bros talking about golf like barstool. The team that does this podcast discovers great topics, does the research and actually makes you think about unique perspectives in the game. My favorite episode was the one about sandbaggers. I have never won a net golf tournament and sandbaggers drive me nuts. Keep up the great work!
-
bmoo62Good workLove golf but hard to find a quality golf podcast. This podcast does it right. Good topics, quality interviews.
-
twodown02Interesting, Good ListenIf you like golf this is a great podcast to listen to. It has insightful and interesting stories on wide variety of topics. Sandbaggers, Funding of LPGA professionals, etc . all very interesting. I’ve listened to some other Golf related podcasts and hearing 2-3 guys dialogue is not all that interesting. I would love more Golf content like this. This is similar to but better than Undercover Tour Pro column in mag
-
Jay3459372Fun listen! If you like golf / PGA golf, this is a must listen.
-
wagonerdAwesome! Fun!Can’t get enough
-
1515hshsjsLove itWonderful podcast. Great pacing and editing. I feel like I’m a part of the conversation.
-
BaxnnexFresh take on golf podcastsHave enjoyed every episode so far. Nice to have a more in depth look at golf topics instead of just a couple of people yakking. Insightful, informative and a pleasure to listen to.
-
KlobsterThey got me! Good one!!Saw the email article on the future of AM status and went to read it... not what I expected but YOU accomplished your goal. You got me to click and then to subscribe to the podcast to get the info I needed. Touché and Bravo Golf Digest. Bravo! Hahaha looking forward to the listen and all the other listens on this channel.

pleasegawdnonickCaddy showThe caddy show was awesome! I remember Kip winning the second big break I think? Anyway I thoroughly enjoy this podcast!
-
111111118788574798Incredible editing/producingThe editing/producing of this podcast is unmatched in the modern era. Imagine if John Williams produces/edited a podcast and was also younger and more talented.
-
WLBATLWell doneVery good stuff for the golf-centric folks. The recent pods on sandbagging, the economics of the LPGA, and tour caddies have been excellent. Thank you for the knowledge and entertainment. Keep up the good work.
-
RockyMountainWayLPGA vs PGAThe PGA has viewers and fans. The LPGA does not. That’s the big driver of revenue and purse sizes. The rest of it is pure b.s. and has nothing to do with sexism. Dumb episode.
-
Gott31GreatReally interesting stuff. Have to listen every week
-
Nevers46SandbaggerThis episode was a great one. Wish these were a little longer and a little more in depth....that should speak for itself noting the intriguing topics of these podcasts
-
old sandbaggerSandbaggerSo true ! Excellent
-
ThePope513CreativeLoved the sandbagger episode 😂 keep up the creative episode concepts

NicknameForChris17Golf Digest no longer has a golf podI used to listen to the Golf Digest podcast because it was fun people talking about the news/action of golf, and it also had really good interviews with knowledgeable people about the things happening in the golf world. This is no longer that, which is fine, but this should’ve been a new feed that people could’ve chosen to listen to if they wanted. It’s sad that if you don’t gamble, Golf Digest no longer has a pod for you that talks about golf that is actually being played.
