I'm maybe a couple years younger or maybe older I would not like to grow up in this age I thought my generation had harder Remember Dad cussing and messing with the rabbit ears on the TV Grandma telling him not to use those words in her house Him saying "They shot the President and this darn TV won't come in right " Then few years later and my friends mother waking us up say "they killed poor Bobby " Cold War, Viet Nam, and always talk of nuclear war I'd still rather live then than now We seem more divided now than Viet Nam war divide and Riots over civil rights

    Great Show!
Fireside Chat is a common-sense show where Dennis Prager addresses cultural topics. This show will help you not only engage with American cultural influences but Dennis helps teach you how to critically think in the process. Would recommend!

    Rationality is so Refreshing!
Thank you for dedicating your life to the pursuit of wisdom and then sharing it with us!

    Still disappointed
At least we don’t have to pay “yet” for this podcast. His daily show got cut from 90 minutes to 5 minutes. What a shame his wisdom costs these days.

    Enlightment
Dennis Prager’s Fireside Chats are a must listen. He offers a perspective that is educated, well thought out and articulate. If only everyone would close their mouths and simply listen the world would be a much better place. Chat #203 with Park Yeon-mi is one that should be a required listen in all high schools, even before college age. Knowledge brings enlightenment to those who listen.

Im glad Dennis clarified his views on pornography and adultery. I wish he might’ve mentioned the negative effects (sin aside) of porn but I understand that’s not the entire point of the podcast. I appreciate the communication. The only thing that was really odd to me was the following remarks: Time stamp 7:37 “Avoiding pain is not the purpose of life, the purpose of life is to lead a full life, as rich a life as possible. By the way since I am a big Bible fan, that’s what the garden of Eden story is about. Adam and Eve opted for the pain of life rather than the idyllic non pain life of the garden of Eden. They said we want to live a life with free will, free choice, good and evil, over a life of eternal bliss, innocent bliss if you will, they chose a full life, they chose a full life over a safe life.” Living a life of safety as the epitome of living is wrong, I agree with Dennis in that matter. God calls us to service and devotion not safety and comfort. Not to say you should endanger yourself (as Dennis points out with the seatbelt). However, that is the opposite of the garden of Eden story. They had a full and rich life prior to the fall. They had “no shame” and had personal relationship with God in a perfect paradise. They had a full and pain free life. “They said we want to live a life with free will, free choice” they already had free will! That’s how they made the choice to sin in the first place. They sinned and didn’t trust that God was enough, so they chose to trust their own judgment over God’s. That’s the whole point. They were not just in some mere “idyllic non pain life, they were literally in heaven on earth: in perfect relationship to each other and God and they *still* messed it all up. Everything got worse after they did that. We are separated from God, there is now pain, disease, shame, death, grief, sadness, discontentedness, etc. Now it is true that we can have joy without pain, we can find joy in the midst of our pain; but they existed with joy and no pain, they were in a place of total satisfaction and yet the human heart is so depraved we still chose wrong. That’s why the Holy Spirit is so necessary, without it we are blind, with hearts of stone as the Old Testament says. I’d encourage you all to read a book called “more than a carpenter”. Jesus is the only way for remission of sins and the way to heaven, every book in the 39 books of the Old Testament points towards a messiah. I plead with you. I really appreciate prager U standing up against the nonsense of this culture and fighting for the morals and virtues that made our country so great; that some are so actively trying to destroy. God bless you all!

    Question for Dennis
Age 12 from Orlando, Florida. Hello Sir, my name is Cooper. I love listening to fireside chats and I love your views on religion and morals. I found out about you through the Michael Knowles show. I am a Traditional Latin Mass Catholic and an Opera Singer in Opera Orlando and to love classical music. I was wondering, what do you recommend for a young boy to read or look into to grow and wisdom and knowledge. I would like to become as wise as you and would be delighted to hear your thoughts. Also, I am homeschooled and have trouble to make friends with any boys my age.(Most of my friends are retired). I want to make friends but I want to keep my values and morals and not corrupt myself and that is hard with the youth of this century. Any advice? Thank you Sir!

    One of my favorite podcasts
Who wouldn’t enjoy Dennis’ lighthearted manner handling some serious and not so serious topics? My husband and I listen together while walking the dogs. What happened to episode 311? Taboo number?

    Yikes
I think its harmful to regard and classify this bigotry as educational. Someone might stumble upon this and take anything this dingus says as something that maybe true. Every rich white man wants a podcast with their opinions- fine but dont label it as educational in anyway.

    Could not recommend more
Hi, my name is Jonathan from New York and Dennis is the smartest person IK, always shares wisdom to everyone even if there a 14 year old christian like me. I always end up writing a lot of notes. Thanks for everything! Also I have a question, what’s the difference between bragging and sharing your victories??

    Wisdom for life
This podcast is an off the cuff commentary which is relevant even if listened to out of order. A friendly yet serious format, rich in wisdom with a touch of humor. He’s a great man, who is worthy of being listened to, even if you may not agree with everything he says.
  • Caididid
    Binge-worthy
I’ve listened to almost every episode of the Fireside Chat. This show has opened my mind so much and I often find myself quoting Dennis to the people in my life.

    Positive influence on my growth
I started to get to know Dennis through this podcast. Now, I have read his book on happiness, his Genesis rational Bible commentary, and just got his Deuteronomy commentary. I SO often pause this podcast while out on a walk and think about something profound that Dennis just said while chatting, and I let it sink in. He’s helped me grow in so many areas in life. Thanks, Dennis.

    Lots of Wisdom
Dennis Prager gives lots of wise insights. I don’t agree with all of his political options, but I do love the wise and reasoned way he speaks of universal values. Thank you Dennis.

    My Favorite Philosopher
Dennis’ perspective inspires me to dig deeper and think more critically about all the things I’ve learned over the years and held as true. He has an incredible moral compass and I admire his honest and respectful presentation. I value most his perspective on choosing happiness. “The Happiness Hour” is a wonderful experience in gratefulness. Dennis, you are an American treasure.

    Great for everyone!
My 20 year old son really identifies with the fireside chats of Dennis Prager. We use these chats as a springboard to continue the conversation. As yucky as this world is, I am encouraged by the views held by Mon son and his friends. Thank you, Mr. Prager for your wisdom! You are a blessing to our family.

    Intelligence is not Wisdom
Dennis! My youngest son (who just turned 15 and would rather listen to you than do schoolwork) has listened to you for a while now & I'm so glad I’ve met you! I’d love to chat with you sometime because I also love clarity and understanding in any subject. Where you and I are very similar in thoughts, there are some areas in which I don’t agree but still love your show! I’m can’t wait to read your commentaries and other books! So glad to have some more study material & someone to listen to while I work. Raquel

Thank you for what you do! Make fireside chats an hr long! They go by to quick! Mark from Long Island NY
