Dave Zirin is the best sports historian and journalist. He’s truthful, dynamic and incredibly intelligent! Huge fan!

For all the great political edge and value of this podcast, it’s a bummer that it has such little representation or analysis of women’s sports. The relative absence of the WNBA and NWSL is especially disappointing (and arguably hypocritical). If the gender balance of coverage were improved, this podcast would level up so much.

A truth to power kind of podcast within the world of sports. Best type of listen!

Dave Zirin is the refreshingly opposite of shock jock radio. He brings the stories that need to be covered but are overlooked by mainstream media - social justice issues, player activism from across multitude of sports. This show proves you can be a sports fan while challenging the things that make sports ugly- unequal resources for women’s sports, racist team names, leagues suppressing players’ rights to protest. Love the advocacy for mental health support,too!

Dave is brilliant, insightful and entertaining. Love the way he puts sports into the broader social and political milieu.

I’m not a huge sports fan, but do enjoy watching an occasional baseball or football game. Dave is a welcome change from the usual sports podcaster that feels that stats are the only thing. These teams and their owners effect things outside the stadiums.

Dave is one of the best sports writers out there. He is well versed in sports as well as in current and past socio/political conditions. He brings context to sports and through this he continues to show that sports are not just mere isolated phenomena. Instead, through his accompanied analysis of sports, Dave and his guests show that sports are active institutions that reflect and enforce conditions in our societies. Conditions that are largely upheld and maintained by capitalism and the ruling few. Edit: Yo Dave! Can you add these interviews to YouTube?? Not everyone does podcasts and I feel like video interviews on YouTube are much easier to share, especially with the youth! Thank you for all your work!

David Zirin has regular in depth interviews with interesting and thought provoking individuals in today’s sports world. He does an excellent job as a host, letting his guest speak, while asking questions that need asking and answering. But then he is a Macalester grad, so know surprise there. Keep up the good work!

I have been a fan of Dave Zirin since he came and spoke to a class at UT, and I was a wide-eyed college student learning about the big world around me. Dave introduced me to the concept of politics and sports intersectionality, and has consistently lead the battle to expose injustice whenever possible, as well as introduce fellow warriors of the movement to his audience.
