I don’t write reviews, except when I really REALLY like something. This show definitely hits that target for me. Give it a chance, you won’t regret it.

Like listening to a couple preachy dimwits who are the kind of people that watch The Big Bang Theory and think that makes them “OMG LEIK I’M SUCH A GEEK! I WATCH MARVEL TEE HEE HEE!” then this podcast is for you. Actual nerds (not fake Felicia Day styled fake nerds) and people who like talking about video games without leftist screeching can find much better pods out there

Incredible Conversations and Super fun Energy

Started off great, but is slowly going downhill. :/

Love Dani and Ify’s deep analysis and feels about their favorite nerdy properties. Definitely better when the hosts are familiar with the media they’re discussing. Listened to the Deathnote ep and was disappointed that the episode was mostly surface facts and talking about other favorite anime. They missed the opportunity to weigh in on the moral questions raised by the show about criminal justice, vigilantism and unhealthy relationships. Do better please!

I have some issues with your America Chavez episode, probably not in the way you think though. See, as an extensive Renée Montoya fan I feel I need to tell you that SHE was the first LGBTQ Latinx superhero! I can understand the semi argument of the circumstances of her being a superhero, which I considered her to be as soon as she became The Question in 52. That was at the latest in 2007. America was created in 2011. Now I know she doesn’t have powers, but neither did the 1st Question nor does Batman and they are considered superheroes, JUST LIKE HER! And she’s been a lesbian character since at least 2002. By that logic she’s clearly the first. Please please please give one of my favs the credit she deserves (maybe an episode about her too)! Other than that like pod so far. But please fix this, thx in advance.

The early episodes were great and informative, especially the MCU universe episode. Recently, they’ve just been using it as a platform to preach with a tiny amount of the actual subject matter thrown in.

I’ve been listening to this cast since the beginning. Many episodes have material I am interested in, and generally get good information on each from the hosts. My biggest thing I find each time I listen, is the hosts take way too long to get on topic. So many tangents, and leading their audiences down winding roads until finally getting back to the material. This show would be so much more polished if many more edits were done and shorten the overall length. Keep on keeping guys, just take a look at editing. Thank you

It’s Super effective

Dani and Ify are very informative and funny while diving into different nerdoms. I love that they tend to deal with the basics of each topic they introduce instead of deep diving into every topic. Love all the MCU episodes, movie reviews, the Dr. Who episode and so many others! I particularly like that they often have guests who are passionate about the topic of the episode and give a special insight to why they love the character/series/comic.

3.5 the male host repeatedly interpreting everyone, especially his co-host, is extremely annoying and off-putting.

Dani and Ify give their unique takes on nerd culture whether it’s mainstream or niche. They inform and entertain, I’ve personally learned a lot about subjects I never even knew existed. Glad to see people of color and women talk about their passion and experience in nerd culture!!!

I like the concept of one episode dealing with a nerd subject and diving in to the history of the subject. The hosts get too preachy though. Get off the soapbox and the show would be much better.

I canceled my subscription. Did not enjoy them saying 'like' every five seconds.

I expected a celebration of nerd culture when at the end of the day what I got was a cynical review removed from the context of time by folks with no personel connection to many of the things that I love. I am older than the hosts by about 15 years so understanibly we would see so many of these topics through a different lense. Maybe the issue is that Im too old to listen to this podcast.

I would let these hot nerds sit with me.

I found this podcast and thought it would be better than it was. Feels like it’s a podcast that would take you listening to at least a whole season to really get into😐They don’t have a good balance of inserting their personal stories and diving into the topics. As much as I’d love to get to know our hosts, I’d also like to hear about the topics. Overall, I feel like they don’t have a good hook to draw you into the podcast. Iffy and Dani, you threw the hook, but there’s no line or sinker.

This show is great listening but I would warn that it’s less comedy and more education. It’s also seemingly less about educating complete casuals in a “nerdy” subject and more about insight into the cultural needs/shortfalls of media. All that said, still very educational - still thumbs up.

It’s so much fun to listen to! There are episodes that are near and dear to my heart like Sailor Moon and the Marvel Cinematic Universe episodes and episodes where I find myself enthralled in unfamiliar nerdoms like Cosplay and Afro Anime! I’m just getting started and can’t wait to listen to more!

I’m always nerding out at least a little when a new episode drops! Ify and Dani are a fun, inviting, and intelligent duo who tackle so many different topics of nerdom. Wonder Woman, Blade, X-men, Asmr, Bitcoin, gaming, representation across the geek culture, and many others. Not too interested in asmr, or bitcoin? Neither was I but this pair of nerds kept the conversation on theses subjects engaging, informative, and funny. Give em a listen, a rate, a review, and a share if you enjoy. And as always, stay nerdy!

This podcast has been so much fun to listen to. There are topics they discuss that I knew next to nothing about, prompting me to go out and read or watch on my own. They have a positive, non-gatekeeping style and wonderful personalities!

Listen to Wizard and Bruiser. At least they’re real nerds and not people trying to cash in on a false nerf counter culture.

I have really bad C-PTSD and sometimes when I have a panic attacks there is something soothing about Ifys voice that helps me get through stuff which is super hard to do. Great podcast to listen to throughout my free time. Came to listen to Ify and found out that Dani is just as great! Only on episode 5 so It’s only uphill from here

My friends and I talk a lot about the same things Iffy and Dany cover and its great to know there are ppl out there who feel the same way. Great representation, episodes, guest, and I’ve also been learning a lot . Thanks for bringing us nerds together while covering topics others are scared to talk about. This show is too ad based and the host don’t give their real opinions. They just go with what’s ok with their sponsors but not their true opinions. Listen to castle super beast if you want to listen to a true insider opinions. If not you will just hear a company shill who’s afraid to condemn the faults of the genre.

Amazing topics. Pop culture, this is the stuff that made up so many people’s favorite hobbies and interests. Great stuff.

Iffy and Dani are amazing hosts and bring on the best guests. Been loving all the episode topics. Sometimes it’s nostalgic and sometimes I get introduced to something I never would’ve gotten into (like one punch man). Keep up the awesome work!!

Have always loved a few nerd things such as anime, Star Wars, manga, and Marvel. I love your show but, and I hate sounding like an old person about this, I can’t hear you. The recording level is way too low or something. I have to turn it up way too high in order to hear, and then if an ad comes on my speakers get blasted. If there was any way to fix that, it would be awesome.

I really like this podcast for the most part, but this episode felt so unprepared and the guests were so smug! Ify, you slipped on this one. And I’m getting pretty tired of the SJW soapboxing Ify does no matter the topic. And the constant promo for Twitch and Discord is tiresome.

I just started listening to podcasts and Nerdificent was the first one I ever listened to. Best choice! Ify and Dani are funny and interesting. I love that every episode is a new deep dive into a different topic giving the listener the history and modern happenings of each topic. They always have guests that are typically staples of the nerdom that they are discussing in that episode. I’m super late to finding them and I’m only on like episode 10 but I love it. Thank you Ify and Dani for what you do.

Dani and Ify are a dynamite duo. They provide a Great intro to a variety of topics. Fantastic guests and no pretentious gate keeping on the info. Also have turned me on to a ton of great people to follow.

If they stuck to the topic of would be better, instead they preach a bit too much

this is absolutely the best podcast for geeks, or people who want to learn more about geek culture.

I wanted to check it out, because I wanted to really get the “deep dive” of certain material that I enjoy. I think the problem is typically the two host don’t really know anything about the topic and rely solely on the guest. Then there are times where they bring up an interesting fact that they could get into and then just say “oh we will discuss this another episode” and then continue with whatever basic information they found on Wikipedia. I also just don’t find them charismatic at all so when they tell a story or give an opinion, it just sounds boring and heavy handed. I listed to a bunch of topics that I was interested in and then realized that I could have saved myself the hour doing my own research. This might be good if you want a basic understanding of a new topic you know nothing about, but if you want to dive in deeper I am sure you can find other podcasts or do a better job researching it yourself.

He's 8 and has an aversion to cussing and a penchant for nerd culture... Rarely does media satisfy both... This is a great thing for us to bond over in the car. Also, he's 8 so I'm often explaining the origin of a thing he's now in to... So.. *SFII announcer voice* "PAH-FECT!!"

Twitter with a podcast. If the soapbox didn’t come out so much it would be a better show. There are much better podcasts for people looking for that kind of thing that focus specifically on social issues in nerd culture. The social stuff is so heavy handed it’s almost like preaching to the choir so I don’t know what it accomplishes.

This podcast is fantastic! Both hosts bring incredible knowledge to every topic and every guest is clearly picked with intention. Even when I’m not part of the fandom being covered I listen to absorb knowledge. Plus the tangents are hilarious. Topics I need: Harry Potter, Pokemon (specifically the games), Kingdom hearts (again, specifically the games), and skill toys (Kendama, yo-yo, juggling of all kinds).

This podcast is what we need for today. Nerd and geek culture from a multicultural perspective is not the future...it is now. The Women in Gaming and Afro Anime episodes were eye opening. Keep up the great work Dani and Effy!

I enjoyed this pod when it first started then it got too preachy. I wanted a podcast that talked about nerd topics and not a lecture. Thankfully I found the Wizard and the Bruiser!

Geesh these Afro anime guy for one the boondocks are a black family and they talk about Africa America history all the time and most black child have braids or a bush cut THE CHARACTERS ARE NOT AFRICA FROM AFRICA I understand being proud of your culture but at the same time black ppl born in America have those values.
