I just started listening a couple of months ago and have enjoyed it ever since. I quite often get the most valuable thing from this pod cast, an introduction to new music or music I have forgot about.

This is the best music podcast. You can hear the love of the music in their voices. Love this show and listen every week.

This is a great podcast to conect with your musical interests: past, present and future. Jim and Patrick have extensive knowledge of many different forms of music, and to their credit, are also constantly seeking out the knowledge of others. The result is an educational and entertaining show which provides listeners with a great way to stay informed and connected to the music of a wide variety of bands and artists..

Dad Rock is fantastic. It's funny, but more importantly, Jim and Patrick know their stuff better than just about anyone. And their passion shows. When they go into a deep dive on a famous group (Dylan, REM or the Beach Boys) there is nothing better.

I'm a twenty something of the female and single persuasion and I love this show. All these bands and jams are what inspired all the stuff you hear on the radio now and they are making a comeback themselves. Love the level of analytics, not too too pretentious but still full of passion! Keep it up guys!

I will have these guys and their show. Not only do they remind me of how much I love some of the music I grew up with or have listened to more recently, but they also regularly introduce me to music that is either new or at least new to me. Their research and the insights they know and share is fantastic. I look forward to every new episode.

Jim, Patrick and once a week Mary do a great job of talking about all kinds of music. They have taken the term "Dad Rock" and turned it around from meaning "old people music" (my son's quote, not mine) to maning music that two Dads listen to on a regular basis. Their road trip to Austin resulted in some great episodes. Sad to say they have had to record way to many tribute episodes this year but they take a sad subject (death of a musical icon) and turn it into what you want a celebration of the artist's life and legacy. This is one Dad who plans to keep on listening.

I found this podcast about two months ago. It is amazing to find two guys about my age that LOVE the same music I do/did. Your shows take me back in my own life to some very good times. Thanks for doing what you do! You could do an entire show to Matthew Sweet as far as I'm concerned. The couple of minutes on the "1966, 1991" show was just a tease.

I really enjoyed the mixtape episode. I'd like to hear more from Jodi Gersh as she is a Long Island girl. Anyone who's gone to college and lived in the dorms can tell you about the unique music selections from the Long Island crowd. Why won't you folks let Jim Morrison die already?

This show is outstanding. Almost perfectly in line with my taste in music. Hey, I was even in high school in Toledo in early 80s and listened to the same BAD radio as Jim. First show I listened to was the Born to Run show and I was hooked. Also, the Wilco and REM shows - it was like a mind/meld. They hit all the right highlights. Keep up the great work!

The Dad Rick guys always have terrific insight as exemplified by The Ramones episode. I'm a lifelong fan of the band and actually learned a bunch of new things. Thanks Dad Rock!

Because of these guys, over the past year I've rekindled a relationship with CDs by REM and the Replacements which I'd forgotten about. They helped me appreciate Springsteen and Mellencamp who I never really liked (yes I'm that guy). And I've started listening some great new music like Titus Andronicus and Alabama Shakes. Thanks for the time you spend putting this together.

For music fans like myself who like nothing better than sitting around listening to and talking about music, this show is a MUST LISTEN. I discovered it after they did the Wilco show, and it has since become something I look forward to each week. And now 2x/week with Tuesdays with Mary (who guest appeared on the Wilco show). I hope Jim and Patrick keep this show going for a long long time.

Just listened to Deeper Cuts, great show, wish you had time to let all the songs play out! Great commentary ... many of your choices mirror mine ... next time try No Reply! You should make the Beatles a regular theme... maybe quarterly. I will listen to other shows very soon especially Bowie and hope to follow each going forward. Will share!! Thank you! Really interesting podcast. Good mix for me of nostalgia, discovery, and plain old fun. Sometimes I get excited even when a fave of mine is briefly mentioned (The Church). Other times a long show on a specific topic (reviewing a classic Rolling Stones reissue) isn't long enough. You guys seem to be having a ball, which goes a long way to making me smile and spreading good vibes. Possible suggestions that may or may not stretch the scope of the show too far: discussing autobiographies (the Billy Idol audio book was surprisingly good), movies (The Wall concert) maybe a little tech talk (any neat ways to consume music- new headphone perhaps or a good music app that enhances sound quality (louder logic). Thanks again guys!

I was blown away how great the interview with Bryan Richie was from The Sword. One of my favorite bands of all time, and now Dad Rock is one of my favorite Podcast of all time!!

The best show on iTunes that discusses and reviews music.

This is a laid back music show by two dads who share an immense amount of music taste with this mom. After binge listening to 15 or so episodes I have discovered we have been at some of the same shows. While I don't always agree with some of their musings I find joy in their banter about music. Makes me miss working "in the biz". If they need a mom rock opinion I'll be glad to give my 2 cents. Until then maybe I'll just start calling their hotline...

Every Friday, I listen to Dad Rock! I get antsy when the new posdcast is leaked on twitter but doesn;t show up on my phone for a few hours later--I start making plans an how I will listen if its not on my phone for my commute home! Jim and Pat are great guys, very knowledgebale about music--you get a great mix of bands that you remember and new ands that you should know about! They have great guests, great topics and a great following. I only wish the show were longer--sometimes 1 hour just isn't enough! Even if you are not a Dad--you will dig Dad Rock!

I've just discovered Dad Rock & have been binge-listening. Very enjoyable, and it's even helped broaden my horizons musically. A minor quibble--the earlier podcasts would have benefitted from being more tightly scripted or structured; lots of "umm, like" moments, which I find distracting, to the point of missing the main point if the show. Docked one star for this.

This show is awesome even for not-dads!

Hosts Jim Lenahan and Patrick Foster lead excellent and varied discussions about the type of music I love—namely, a little bit of everything. They dig deep without a hint of snobbery. Their love for good music—whatever the genre—is evident and I can’t get enough of this great show!

A great podcast by two very knowledgeable guys. Takes me back a few years and gives me a thorough appreciation of the music of my youth. So I wasn't just listening to College Rock just to impress girls. That was really good music!

Lots of nostalgia. I've learned of some pretty good bands so far. With so much music out there, these guys do a good job of helping filter through and find the nuggets. Keep up the good work!

This show aims to dispel the traditional stereotypes surrounding music that is considered "dad rock." Older artists are reminisced about just as much as new artists are discussed, with the overall theme being that music exploration is a life long journey on which the show's hosts, Jim and Patrick, have been on for quite some time. Their enthusiasm for the music is infectious and they are at their best when they are not just sharing their knowledge of music but relating it to their own life experiences. Thoroughly entertaining and I highly recommend to anyone who considers music to be a major part of their life.

Dad Rock is a couple of 40-something musical FANatics who talk about great current music as well as classic music and everything in between. This podcasts includes interviews, their take on historic albums (including what songs meant to them when they first encountered them). From the Rolling Stones, to the Replacements to First Aid Kit, they hit on every era of music. They have great taste and even greater passion for the music they talk about. This is a great podcast to share with your kids, to give them a bit of rock history and to share your own stories. This is also a great way to reconnect you to bands that you once loved and may have forgotten over the years. Music has a way of taking you down memory lane and relive moments in your life. Dad Rock takes you down a musical journey that you continue past the end of the podcast.

Good laid back discussions about music. The two hosts seem like good guys. Reminds me of hanging out with buddies in college, drinking beer and talking about music. I enjoy this podcast a lot.

These guys are the definitive experts on music. Their insights and comments on a wide range of music and performers over the last 40 years makes for enjoyable listening. I recommend this podcast for any lovers of rock music.

I don't have the "required equipment" to listen to a show for dads, but I couldn't pass up a good discussion about R.E.M. I could relate to the guy who commented that he didn't want R.E.M. to get too big because he wanted them for himself. I discovered R.E.M. during Out of Time's release when I was in 8th grade. I love their IRS days though, Fables being my favorite album. They did lose me a bit after Reveal. I think it was when I saw a paparazzi shot of Stipe hanging out with Paltrow that I officially called it quits. They were huge before I hopped on the fan wagon, but their music and attitude still always felt oddly..relatable ? Their music seemed to start sounding as forced and artificial as the celebrities around them. It's strange, but I never mourned their breakup until today. I've lost touch with the few friends that shared my love for this band, so listening to big fans discussing these (dare I write) ground-breaking albums -was bitter sweet in many ways. Great job and welcome to iTunes :) PS - You introduce listeners to Fables and you play Kohoutek?! What on earth..have you even listened to the first four songs on that album? Did a masterpiece titled MAPS AND LEGENDS slip all of your minds??? Sheesh

It’s hard to find good music podcasts. It takes quite a bit of skill to build narratives about music and the science of music just isn’t that pod friendly. These guys do a great job of loving the material, being interesting, and being funny. I’ve been recommending it to my dad, though he’s still having trouble with understanding what a podcast is. Subscribed.

but it was basically just cliches and abstractions. I listened to the Replacements show. Nothing there even a casual fan hasn't heard before. They proclaim a lot, but don't offer much depth or even examples to back up their proclamations. It's obvious they love the music, though, which counts for something, I suppose.
