Sean Conroy Gets Happier

29

Sean Conroy Gets Happier is a curious exploration of the art and science of happiness. As a comedian, Sean Conroy has spent his entire career trying to make other people happier. He's experienced everything from crackerjack, blockbuster, mega-hit success to incredible, amazing, life- changing success. In fact, the only person he hasn't managed to make happier is himself! Now he's trying to figure out how to turn his own frown upside down. Meditation, sugar, exercise, money, social media, comic books, friendships, romance, sports, hallucinogenics, role playing games, kale-- Sean talks to other comics about what makes them happy, and to experts about what might help him. Every week on the podcast, Sean Conroy Gets Happier.

    Listen to Sean
Sean Conroy doesn't always sound happy. Nor does he necessarily seem happier from one podcast to the next. But listening to Sean makes me happier, and I suspect he actually is a bit happier as well. I can relate. He's funny, quick witted and kind. It's not surprising he's kind, but his occasionaly ascerbic wit belies his generosity. As Sean is so forthcoming, I feel I know him. I used to work w/ and am friendly w/ his occasional cohort Eddie Pepitone, so it makes me feel I know Sean a bit more since I know Eddie. We're also about the same age, and Knicks fans, and we still don't know why Smith didn't dunk the ball in game 5, and that's a deep bond as well. Listen to Sean Conroy Gets Happier. Even if you don't get happier... it's a pandemic. What else are you doing?

    Funny, relatable, mellow
Sean started this podcast before we all got locked down but it’s the perfect listen now. Charming, low-key interviews with funny, interesting people, woven together with wit that’s cutting but kind.

    Will he get happier?
I don't know if Sean will ever get happier but it's fun to listen to him try. He's brought on experts, comedians, gurus, etc. Sean's interview style gets deep but still makes fun of itself. I'm happier listening to this podcast.

    Best show since LOSHOPO
I've been a fan of Sean's for over a decade now, and a super-fan of his previous show The Long Shot Podcast that came to an end last year. Eddie Pepitone, a former LOSHOPO member even makes an appearance in episode three. I really enjoyed Lauren Duca's episode two for the political discussion. Normally politics isn't a topic that would bring happiness to mind, but the two of them certainly found a way. Finnally, episode 106 with Rajshree Patel is probably my favourite episoe to date. They get into breathing and other methods to calm the nerves and reduce overthinking, which in my experience has been crucial in finding peace of mind leading to a happier version of myself.

Maybe if Sean can get happy enough, it will have a trickledown effect.

    Don't Worry Be Happy
As a fan of Mr. Conroy, I am biased. As one who strives for a state of happiness, this podcasts helps me find that state with wit, meaningfulness and funny. BE HEAR KNOW.

    Thought provoking and entertaining
Sean is a talented and truly funny comedian. He’s also reflective, smart, and honest. He brings all of those skills together in this podcast where he meets with a variety of interesting people to reflect on a simple, essential subject - personal happiness.
