Dan T. 123Good showFor those who might find it useful theees a study (Risk Factors for Violence Among Stalkers) which looked into a bunch of variables to see what might enable people to predict whether a stalker would be violent. Among the variables were: whether the stalker had a previous relationship with the victim before the stalking, severe mental illness, explicit threats, substance abuse, and prior criminal history (violent and then separately nonviolent history). Very interestingly, only one variable was predictive (to be fair some of the other ones had a slight predictive ability, but only because they were more common in the people who had the main trait. So one trait is sufficient to make an accurate prediction). This but the way was shocking to me. None of the scariest ones had an influence: Criminal history, threats of violence, etc. The only one that matters (at least for most cases - you never know for sure because there are always exceptions or rare cases): Previous sexual relationship with the victim. I’m surprised too. And the strength of the correlation is stunning. People who did have a previous relationship before stalking committed physical violence in 89% of cases. Which is absolutely terrifying. Conversely, people who did not have a previous relationship: only 5% committed violence. I do NOT mean to minimize this extremely serious crime. ALL stalkers should be taken seriously. I just thought this would be something I’d want to know if I were in that situation. For anyone with this experience, obviously take all of it seriously, but if you’re being stalked by a former partner, this is life threatening. Do NOT use the delay tactic except to make a plan. But once you are ready, call the police immediately. In a way this isn’t surprising. As the show mentioned, many stalkers are mentally ill or severely socially inept. People like that can be violent (and certainly absolutely terrify people) but at the end of the day they cause Harm but they’re not necessarily sociopathic. I’d absolutely still seek help btw I don’t mean to play it down. But domestic abusers have a very high rate of sociopathy, and DV is *the* number one predictor of a murderer. Both of their partners, of random people, AND mass shootings. If you find yourself with an abusive partner, and especially if there is violence, you are worthy of love and please realize that even though it’s a horrible thing to accept, you are in a life threatening situation. I don’t mean like getting a fender bender. I mean like potential imminent harm. It may seem impossible to even imagine leaving, but you CAN and while it will be hard at first, your life will eventually become better than you can even imagine. Even if you end up having financial struggles or you become a single parent, or both, your abuser has normalized your situation but NOTHING is worth living like that. And studies show that kids raised by an abusive parent end up with lifelong serious challenges, MUCH worse (it’s not remotely close) than children raised by single parents or even by single parents in poverty. Love and safety is incredibly important. That said, it’s not too late for the kids. Don’t blame yourself for not leaving earlier. It’s not your fault. You were brainwashed. The only important thing is that you leave now. Or if you don’t have an exit plan, then in one or two days. Call RAINN and they can help you make a plan and give you advice. TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS ❤️❤️

msmiklosRiveted!I am an newcomer to Sweeney’s work, falling into his reporting on the Russian invasion of Ukraine this past year. I have swiftly been catching up with his body of work, and this podcast is some of the best yet! I find these recent conversations intensely riveting and didn’t want the episodes to end. The plugged-in, aware, boots-on-the-ground perspective is simply not to be found in most media.

Cl ZuzuGreat broadcast/podcast/podcast Must listenThis is a must listen! I enjoyed the style of John Sweeney's reporting . He is a very gifted storyteller, and I'm so glad I stumbled upon this podcast. Sweeney is succinct, thorough , thoughtful and obviously well researched on this case. He throws out information that I was unaware of despite reading so many articles and listening to several podcast regardingGuislain, Epstein and the many other major player's involved in this horrific case. Its hard to wrap my head around the fact that this went on as long as it did with so few people calling them out. So many people listed in "little black book" that took me by surprise! makes me wonder if this was a list of clients that used them to satisfy their sadistic behaviors, or a blackmail list? Some listed there i was not surprised at all, others just blew me away. In any case, the victim's deserve to be heard, and gain some justice and restitution for the horrors of Ghislain and others who used, abused and took away their childhood innocence. Thank you for the time and research put into this podcast, very informative. I look forward to hearing how this plays out. Hopefully there is a happy ending for those who have suffered so long waiting for justice.

Jambajuice89I like this podcast but I’m not downloading Global PlayerNope!

jimmyluvsmusicNope!!!What’s a huge stretch to say Ivanka Trump is the same as Ghislaine. And you hardly mention Bill Clinton at all. How many trips on Epstuens plane? Shame on your coverage.
-
westdccaMore soap opera than journalismAlmost unbearable editorialization and projection by the host. At one point he says, "Listen to how uncomfortable Epstein is when asked the question." Epstein:"No."
-
migney mooBill Clinton was in ghlaines black bookTrump kicked him out of maralogo. You mention trump a million times but nothing about Clinton get over your own obvious bias if you want to be considered an objective journalist. Plus the libs st vanity fair dropped the ball twice on this so much for their humanity and morality. Fight for all women is a great slogan but that’s all it is to the cowardly left. Who was on the Lolita Express to his Pedo island Rapist. bill Clinton. Often too And it’s been credibly alleged that ghalsibe had an affair with Clinton. Conveniently missing

A LibbyJeffrey Epstein didn’t kill himselfYou can’t trust the information this podcast is “reporting” since they think Jeffrey Epstein actually killed himself. Give me a break! Find another podcast that’s reporting honestly and factual.

mysterymachFlawed but interestingTold in a slightly hyperbolic style, the host can't resist trotting out endless "take a listen to this witness at her utter shock" or "you can hear the panic in his voice" and i don't hear anything. I mean the revelations are unsettling, you don't have to add jewelry. Also the "chats with my producer" are quite transparently a device to shape the story, and are sort of like what true crime shows on cable rely on- a fluffy bridge to the next part of the story. All these things are needless. Its almost like they aren't really schooled in podcasting, more tv tabloid journalism. Other than these flaws, its very informative and pretty much nails Epstein and Ghislaine to the wall along with Prince Andrew. What surprises me is that they must have really thought they would get away with it.

randomwellwisherCan’t pronounce GhislaineBasically just a retread of reporting others have done, better, elsewhere. Host John Sweeney and his producer both inexplicably mispronounce the name of their protagonist throughout the entire thing. Extremely irritating. Sweeney also can’t pronounce Allan Dershowitz, and repeatedly refers to Epstein’s Little St. James island as “Little St. Jeff’s” without irony, and apparently without any awareness of the error, throughout the series. Would be a yawn if it weren’t so smugly inaccurate.
-
airbnrgrOutstandingMr. Sweeney does a proper job explain in a very clear manner about the life of the Maxwells.
-
emisteSoo….Epstein didn’t kill himself.

Kip n JemTaken out of contextWhat a shocker ...you took Trumps statement out of context
-
Nestor BestOutstanding podcast!!The true horror of this despicable woman is laid bare here in this series. Absolutely give this a listen. Riveting.
-
ittybittyhomesteadInteresting! The host does a good job of fleshing out the very sparse information we have on Ghislane Maxwell........which isn’t a whole lot. I thought the last episode was the best. Very British with much double entendre throughout. Worth a listen.
-
private chef 87John Sweeney is a criminalUnfortunately can’t listen to this podcast due to the narrators inexplicable past.... in 2019 he met and got a woman drunk and tried to bribe her to make up false sexual allegations about Tommy Robinson. He was caught on video search for PANODRAMA

hhdjksldknslaEnjoyed until episode 5Funny how every podcast I've listened to regarding Maxwell and Epstein brings up Trump and Epstein's relationship in the 90's, but always fails to mention their falling out. Trump banned Epstein and Maxwell from Mar-a-Lago for inappropriate behavior while other celebrities and prominent figures were still buddying around with them. Trump was also the only person to speak to the victims lawyer, Bradley Edwards, to offer him information about Epstein's wrongdoings in 2009. No mention of either of these in this podcast. Instead the narrator goes on to say that Trump just pushes conspiracies regarding wether Epstein killed himself or not. Narrator is also extremely dramatic in his speaking and changes his tone of voice in such an obnoxious way. Also seems to just take any kind of research from other podcasts and documentaries and plagiarizes them to make this podcast. Nothing original about this.

LonamaliaGreat OverallMr. Sweeny takes you on a journey through her background, past relationships and a bit of psychological profile. Very well done. I cannot wait for his episodes on the trial.
-
Obdurate42Fantastic!!This podcast is extremely well done! John Sweeney does it again by bringing the truth out! He’s a phenomenal investigative journalist. Please bring us more episodes! If one isn’t already in the works, Mr. Sweeney should do a podcast on Peter Nygard.
-
IndyMcDuffExcellentExcellent show. No fake news about Trump Trump is a slimeball just like Epstein
-
AggyKGood, but...Trump derangement syndrome much? So much for objectivity. Never mentioned that Trump kicked this guy off his property. Plus, does he actually believes Epstein committed suicide? Wow. Lots of coincidences. Done with this podcast.
-
4th oneMaxwell FamilyI am listening to this but please stop the fake news when referring to President Trump And his daughter it’s nasty and untrue
-
ShannonlizaHooked in the first 5 minutesFabulous - hopefully it will continue as the trial unfolds
-
monaps23Don’t stop pleaseIs this the last podcast in regards to ghislaine??? Love the kids cast sad it’s over
-
GroupworkerDisappointingGreat story, but hard to listen to. The host is unnecessarily dramatic, each episode is repetitive, and I get annoyed when hosts laugh with their interviews.
-
long time expatDeep DiveThe UK knowledge that John Sweeney brings and his access to British sources gives this podcast a unique point of view and expands understanding of both Ghislaine and various relationships connected to Epstein
-
Tim15356Great productionGreat start. As an American, I know little about foregone British celebrities. This first episode was a great expose on Maxwell’s nurturing. The sound quality and editing was polished and paced well, keeping me engaged until the end. I’m anxiously waiting for the next release!

rooozcUgh! Pronouncing “Jill-en”?What kind of research/reporting leads to consistent mispronunciation of the subject’s first name by the reporter/narrator? Trying to sound French? Even in French it’s still a hard “G”. Typical British mangling of foreign words? That mispronunciation is like fingernails on a blackboard. Couldn’t get past the first 15 mins.
