HtylvrGreat if You Don’t Know HistoryJust more anti British, anti white dribble. Let me summarize for you so you don’t have to listen to it - White people bad, colored people victims.

Flycat20Love This Podcast!I found this podcast through another podcast. It is so interesting and entertaining. Had to go back to listen to all of them. Mark is so affable, love him. So much to learn!
-
oldjohnhallBetter than expectedHighly recommend. Very interesting, personal, smart. Not at all (as so many others who take up this type of subject) didactic or reductionist. Listening from across the world each episode is uniquely relatable. I really enjoy the show and look forward to enjoying it in the future.

morg1289403FantasticI never review podcasts, but I listened to all available episodes within a span of days and I’m so impressed with the quality of this show. Thoughtful, considerate, balanced, interesting and educational. For anyone who enjoys this show, I may also recommend a book called The Intimacies of Four Continents by Lisa Lowe which is also about the intertwined histories of colonial power. Will be excited for the upcoming season, thanks for the wonderful content.

Normal NeanderthalComplete trash made by sour grapesThis episode is just negative vibes and only portrays England as a terrible country. This is a terrible podcast and if I could I would give it negative stars. WORST PODCAST EVER!!! UP WITH THE BRITS!!!!

Aquabee520Required listening!!So well produced, so informative, highly recommend!!
-
CurvyArtGoddessAmazing, informative and important. This is such a good podcast. It’s entertaining even though it covers terrible injustices and atrocities. It sheds light on the terrors of colonialism and the resilience of post-colonial peoples. And it’s just great little know history, or at least overlooked perspectives on history. It’s a must listen.
-
HistoryLover8765Great PodcastThis is such a great podcast. Whenever I have free time I listen to it. I love the history and truth intertwined with it.

Way2fliWow!Absolutely enamored with this podcast! Recommended by a friend, this has been my “go to listen” for short/long runs. Intrigued by the content, impressed by the production and enriched by the historical knowledge. Looking forward to more content but in the interim, I will go through the collection…for the third time!

aliapdxSo good!I am picky about podcasts - and this checks all the boxes for me. Great substance, well-edited, timing and flow are perfect. More episodes please! I’m looking for stories here in the Pacific northwest!
-
beebeechoHighly RecommendI recommend this podcast whenever someone asks me what my favorite one is. Though I am already pretty well-versed in history, I learned so much from each episode of this podcast. The stories are fascinating, and the host is wonderful. My only gripe is that there aren’t as many episodes as I would like! Please continue to produce this amazing show!

Broadway Mega FanImportantThe bad reviews of this podcast only reveal just how needed it is. A beautiful exposure of the harm the English perpetrated and perpetuate today. Refreshing, well done, and delightfully factual.
-
VietSchlongSour grapes from the losersEveryone wishes they were British l, and that their ancestors had won. God bless our British forefathers for being better than everyone else.
-
GrammajillSour grapesI don’t know why you think you can assume that Pocahontas or whatever her name was was murdered when you saying there’s no record. Just keep your Canadian in our Australian thoughts to yourselves. go to the British Museum if you want to see all the things that were stolen from other countries and you can see how they are preserved, rather than wasting away or destroyed. Look for the good things that the BRITs did In preserving artifacts for the world to see .

Review223.33Loot from the Indian sub-continentExcellent show exposing the Brits for what they are… a bunch of thieves who built their wealth by looting and stealing from others. This is all the more prevalent by their shameless acts of loot and plunder in name of “providing sound administration and civilization to us .. the Indian natives” I look forward to a series of podcasts highlighting this very aspect of the British looting history. Infact these Brit rascals ensured that even were leaving India (or let’s say made to leave India once they saw the INA movement) they divided the county so that she can never ever claim her place in the developed world !!!!

Africache1st season was fabulous the next two were disappointingI really loved the first season. It was engaging and informative and stated facts. But the subsequent series I felt were less factual and more emotional not letting the listener to make up their own minds. The stories are still interesting but the the bias is off putting.

Jason E L.May This Series Run Until The Elgin Marbles Come HomeDoes a deep dive into various artifacts that British colonists and agents stole, often through violence, from indigenous communities across the globe. Each episode explains the historical background of an object and its cultural and social importance. There are interviews with historians and experts but most importantly with people from the affected communities which hammers home the lasting damage of these thefts.
-
Spencer E HoltawayGreat storytellingFascinating stories, really well told. Great interviewing technique and editing. Wish there were more podcasts out there with niche subject matter and high production quality like this one.

e4329Love this podcast!I’ve been looking for podcasts that are educational, informative and entertaining that I can share with my older kids and this is definitely it! We love listening to the stories and then discussing them afterwards. Thanks for bringing these important stories to light.
-
hbbrooklynWonderful Wonderful Show!I just discovered this and really cannot speak highly enough of it. It shares history and thoughtful discussion on colonialism by using an object or art form deeply meaningful to a culture. I am learning so much.
-
LKG40FascinatingIncredibly interesting to hear the stories of how things were taken and the struggles to get/give back.

RondyRMeh.Alt-Left Liberal racist propagates the lie that blacks, whites, Asians, Latino, so forth and so on, are separate ‘races’ even though science is very clear that there is only one race on this planet - human. He also whines about things like chattel slavery but seems to not know, or just pretends not to know, that black Africans were sold into slavery by their own ethnic group - black people were sold into slavery by black people. If you’re a racist/whiny liberal you’ll love the show, but those of us with common sense will listen to better shows.
-
NesspbGreat education podcast that gets you thinkingJust discovered this podcast last week, and I've already burned through them. Planning to assign a few episodes to my Art History students. Encourages you to think about today's world and our connections to the past.

archivist.librarianBest Podcast EverI don’t listen to too many podcasts because I usually lose interest part way when the topics become dull or it loses momentum. However, this podcast is exceptional because every episode is rich with complex histories, critical perspectives, and great storytelling. It’s also a fantastic teaching tool about the colonialism, empire, historical objects, archives, and it’s connections to the present world. Please make more episodes!
-
MFcreepFantasticWell done. Super interesting. Definitely listen to this podcast.
-
DksjirfnFantastic!I absolutely love this podcast! I recommend it to anyone who will listen. Such interesting stories. I love to see when history is made so accessible! And isn’t everything better with an Australian accent! BTW the The Museum of African Art (a part of the Smithsonian museums) in my hometown is returning several pieces in their collection back to Benin. Had I not listened to your podcast, I would not have understand the importance of that decision and the history behind the pieces, nor the perspectives behind that decision. Thanks for reminding me of the connection between art and culture and history and the Present day. Please make more episodes! Even better, make it a tv show. I’d love to see these artifacts as well!!

d_a_77So interesting and slightly infuriatingThis is one of my new favorite podcasts and is very well done. The stories are incredibly interesting as to the history of these items and how they were acquired by the British empire but the show is also slightly infuriating as you cannot help but feel that a lot of this stuff was like the title says, “stolen”. I have been to the British Museum and while I found it completely fascinating I also couldn’t help but notice how much of the items came from other cultures and wondered how they got there. This podcast answers that question.
-
Egg girl 91So goodThis podcast is exactly what I need. Interesting historical threads, critical of our current neocolonial life, and high production value
-
@ahmed_basimBeautiful ShowI’m from iraq, This beautiful show makes me feel sad about all Mesopotamian civilization "Stuff” that had been stolen and destroyed.
-
EoinJFReally Great Way To Explore Colonialism And Its Impact On The WorldI look for a lot of different podcasts about history - social and political, doesn't matter to me just teach me something I don't know - and this podcast is a great find! I go to a lot of museums too, so connecting the artifacts I see to their historical contexts is very fascinating and thrilling to me. Thank you, Mr. Fennell and your team for creating this podcast!
-
5339klnThe best!Fantastic stories, great presentation, and superb production. Just binged through Season 2 and can’t wait for the next. Don’t keep us waiting too long please!

-
tonpetitamiNot surprisedThat when it comes to stuff the west stole from China their response is essentially “get over yourself”. The liberals’ hypocrisy is truly amazing!
-
Trillian108Great showReally well written and produced! Fascinating history.
-
>kat.Lea<Should be part of exhibits!Love this new podcast and can’t help but think that the British Museum and y’all should really team up to make these episodes….part of actual exhibits? This history is so important. Also, I loved the History of the World in 100 Objects podcast put out by the British Museum, this is better! Can you do a companion episode or something for everyone of theirs??
-
Raúl R. GuardabarrancoMy Favorite PodcastThis is a great listen for anyone interested in history, antiques, and repatriation efforts. I love how emotional this podcast can be, too — it focuses on the people alive today who still feel the injustice of imperialism and cultural loss. A beautiful project.
-
Mr NicklerLoving this new findMy new obsession! I love history, and I love the unique way they talk about it.
-
Beth.H.Great Content, educational, fantastic storytellingSo glad I subscribed to this. It’s enlightening and sad but educational and very well done. I enjoy this podcast very much!
-
Deemyze1Interesting content. But, ocer produced with too much sound FXThis podcast is extremely hard to listen to. It has great content and subjects. But, it seems the producers do not trust the content as it’s overloaded with horribly distracting sound effects that are totally not necessary for listeners. Give us some credit please, if we wanted to watch a loud noisy show we would turn on the television.
-
kathyb114Stuff the British StoleTerrific podcast and host who injects humor into a very serious and important topic. The time flies when I’m walking or exercising. Keep them coming!
-

-
Fill_Jones5Awesome Historic PodcastGreat podcast on the epic thievery of significant historic artifacts from around the world. The stories are well setup and interesting from start to finish. I’m sure the couple of 1 star ratings are from the British that stole.
