    Industry
Hi Jonathan , look up the Flexner report … ( how the rockefellers hijacked the medical industry by pushing textbooks in colleges, criminalizing all sorts of other sound medical practices , by way of grants to hospitals and colleges ) all for profit. It’s not normal … and the diet industry is the same . 😢 We are a sick society in all directions because a small group of people control too much especially the printing of our currency treating our national treasure as their for profit PRIVATE enterprise , and it’s illegal to audit them . This is what permits their control of 96% of global media , illegal lobbying …. Etc. The root of the eating obsession is deeper and it’s a societal tumor. Loviu and the best thing is to not obsess with food , and make it a habit 💕

    Lacking editing/structure
I adore JVN and want to listen to what they have to say. I was pumped when I saw they had a podcast with general curiosity as the angle. However I found the podcast itself to be pretty meh. I think the podcast structure is meant to be pretty free flowing but I found it super hard to follow. JVN follows their bliss with really cool guests, asking questions that are all over the place. Sometimes even the guests are confused. At the end I’m often wondering what I just listened too, because none of it really resonated. This podcasts has alllll the right ingredients but the recipe is off. If JVN was able to lead a more structured interview before going off on tangents and whatnot, this would be SO much better. It simply needs to be more concise. JVN, lean on your writing/editing staff for this podcast and add a bit more structure, please!!! 💗

    MAJOR! LOVE JVN
Jonathan is so authentic and really is the epitome of what a journalist is, someone who’s not afraid to ask tough questions, sensitive to others’ lived experience, and brings their own insight to the table. At the same time, Jonathan is funny, 100% true to their self, and unapologetic. I say MEH to anyone who dismisses them as fluff. Fluff you!

    Love this show!
I've watched every episode of Queer Eye and JVN is my favorite! Anyway this show has a little bit of everything and has given me so many great book recommendations. I also was ecstatic with this most recent episode about asexuals. Finally representation! Thank you JVN for the positivity you bring to the world!

    Fantastic Show Every Week!
I have been a fan of this show and JVN for years now. His recent episodes with Anne Curzan (language), Renee DiResta and especially the conversations with Dr. Osama Khalil have been outstanding! All the episodes are smart, engaging and fun - I learn so much! The ones are name have really left me thinking and seeking more info through the guests’ books. Thank you, JVN and team for creating an amazing show and helping all of us learn. Thanks for being curious!

    Live for it!
I live for Jonathan's interviews. I have been listening since the beginning and the episode of “Is Romance Dead “ MOVED me. As a bi woman married to a Cis white male it really made me think of all the gender roles that we fall into but can and DO alter in this day and age it left me hopeful. The Dr. and their opinion of the future has left me curious and all I want to do is learn more!!!!

I have always loved learning through reading. But since I discovered Getting Curious, I have become an avid listening learner. Jonathan, you (on this podcast) are so freeing to experience , your realness, your expressing vulnerability is the strongest stuff I’ve ever heard. Allow me to add that I suffer through trichotillamania and your mentioning it on the show literally had me crumple over and cry when it was treated with such acceptance.

    Love this concept and JVN!
Love the show so much. Finally found someone as curious as me! And someone whose thoughts run FASTER than mine haha. I love the wide variety of topics and how many questions JVN asks, like yesss - get into it. The guests always seem so nice and SO SMART. The cherry on top is JVN being such a genuinely curious and caring soul. They’re the type of human I want to see more of in the world. Hope this gets another Netflix season as well.

    Genocide supporter
Very disappointing TikTok that was deleted and JVN accused those calling him out compassionately as bullying. Rich, white liberal who doesn’t care about anyone else and refuses to listen to marginalized voices

    Long time listener
I’ve been listening to JVN since the beginning and this is actually the first podcast I ever subscribed to. I love the topics and the energy but I wonder why they can’t be a bit longer. The guests are often audibly rushed and it feels like we can’t dig deep with them like I get to experience on other podcasts. I’m not sure if jvns podcast partners push rushing the time but I wish we could extend the time of the pod so jvn and guests can speak all their thoughts.

Jonathan, I knew you were adorable, but now I realize you are also incredibly intelligent and well informed. This show is such a needed gift. Thank you!

    So educational and fun!
Thank you, JVN and guests, for educating me in a fun way! Recently I listened to your episode with Jackson Galaxy about how to be a good cat parent. 😻😻😻Loved! Then, this morning I listened to your episode about domestic partner violence. Soo important! I followed free from org and will be keeping up with that news since I am a survivor! Thank you Jonathan! 💖💖💖

    Love
I love this show so much. It’s always a serotonin boost AND some sort of knowledgey lesson. JVN is so iconic, always asks the right questions…. I’m unclear on the title of the show. Is it pretty curious, getting curious, curious now? Something else? I always just type in curious and I’m OBV subscribed so it doesn’t really matter I guess. Love.

    JVN is a national treasure
Jonathan is such a inspirational person. They have made a significant impact on my life with their beauty and ferocity! Jonathan has a true and beautiful spirit that brings me personal joy. I wish more people were as honest and truthful as Jonathan is willing to be. ❤️❤️

    JVN has OCD???
Hi!!!! I have ocd so I was so excited to hear JVN mention his first sign of OCD at 7:15 in the dolls episode - but then I googled this and I don’t see anything about JVN talking about having OCD. I can understand if he doesn’t want to be public about the diagnosis. It is a really misunderstood condition and I know JVN is a fantastic advocate for mental health so I’m disappointed if he was using OCD as a quip for a joke. OCD is much more than just keeping things arranged in a neat and tidy order. It can be debilitating.

Grateful for JVN in my life!
I’m a very curious person and this podcast helps feed my hungry brain and the beauty tips have made my skin clear up. What more could you ask for? Oh…the joy that JVN brings to my drive to work from his silly antics are just the cherry on top. JVN just makes my heart happy!

    Enthusiastic Learning
I’m a teacher and thoroughly enjoy Jonathan’s enthusiasm for learning. All the episodes are great, but I want to single out the latest about the Middle Ages. I belong to a medieval re-creation society and I still learned so much. I loved the focus on women. Keep being curious!!!!

    Feel good girrrrllll
I wanna be friends with Jonathan Van Ness. He’s the best friend you wish you had. His topics and interviews are always personal, inspirational, eduacational and he always makes me laugh.

    Incredible
You won’t find a better listener which is what makes a good pod. He balances entertaining with learning which isn’t easy to do. Love him!!

    Uneducated
Anyone who disagrees with JVN is “uneducated”?!?! Typical lib worldview. Maybe you should be more curious

    JVN’s podcast does not disappoint!
I love JVN. He is really smart and knows his stuff but maintains his fun vibe when he interviews his guests. Great show!

    A Much Needed Voice
I’ve been a listener for a few years and I wish all reporters delivered the news with Jonathan’s humor and humanity.

JVN Fanboy finally getting into it
I adore JVN from the bottom of my heart and just started listening because of the far right/tradwife influencer episode as this is a big interest of mine (meaning right wing radicalization on social media). Now I’m listening to the Haitian Vodu episode and I just needed to say that Prof. Nwokocha is everything and she is giving the best cool young professor vibes while also offering grounded analysis and very important historical context about the far reaching consequences of the colonial project on indigenous and diasporic cultures all over the world. Awesome work, I’m very excited for more! Also PS but Jonathon postitions themself as being an uneducated midwesterner but truly has the most compassionate, intelligent and honest curiosity when engaging in interviews.

    No boring episode
Jonathan’s energy and genuine interest in any and every topic is so wholesome and admirable. He knows how to ask the right questions and has great rapport with his amazing guests. You will get a lot out of this podcast if you don’t mind some language and a bit of rambling. I like that each subject is made fun and accessible to anyone no matter how complex or obscure it is. As a nerd who goes down rabbit holes all the time, Getting Curious brings so much joy. This was one of the first podcasts I got into a few years ago and I keep going back to it!

Getting Curious is 100% an academic lecture and somehow also a 100% joy-filled ride. I wish every episode was about prairie dogs.

    POTUS
I’m a lifelong liberal and opposed every justice that was seated during DTs regime. However, I am so fed up with the Democratic Party being whiny babies who do nothing. Thomas’ stuff is right at the forefront including Anita Hill and non disclosure. Jonathan, keep shedding light! Love the guests for this episode and the pod in general. ✌🏼
  • Jayashreeart
I learnt so much listening to just one episode
I’m blown away at how much I’ve learned about the Orcas from your episode. I stumbled upon this podcast and now I’m hooked. Thank you for your insightful questions and for your efforts in educating people about important issues.

    Love it!
Such a wonderful podcast, covering a multitude of topics. Truly enriching content that I absolutely love listening to while I crochet in the evenings or get ready for work in the morning. I think what I love most is the vulnerability shown in topics we may not quite understand, and the questions asked. Love love love!

    Big Brother Approved and Boring
Disappointed that you (or your corporate overlords) removed your 2019 interview with RFK Jr. I guess he needs to be silenced by every willing coward, lest the democratic party's neoconservative capitalist values be undermined by the democratic process. Also what's up with all the fake 5 star reviews here?

    Let Your Experts Talk
Love J, but he is constantly interrupting his guests and cutting them off with comments that are out of left field. Would love to hear more from the experts.

    I Love This For Us
Every episode is a delight with JVN's warm energy and such a cadre of fabulous guests covering all manner of topics you never knew you needed to know all about. Highly recommend!

    Thanks for asking for us!
Im so happy that JVN asks all the questions I might be afraid to. I’m an immigrant so I don’t know enough about US history, or people related to the US histories, so I appreciate her asking all these questions! I love you, JVN, you bring so much joy to so many people’s lives <3

    Entertaining and informative!
I am so delighted with this podcast, it’s even better than I expected! I love JVN and I was basically expecting the podcast to be JVN being wacky while smart people tried to talk around him, but it’s not, it’s soooo good! JVN is so gracious with the guests and they have great, in depth conversations. He asks such great questions! I was so impressed, it’s obvious that he does a lot of research on these topics. Don’t get me wrong, he is still very much JVN with his signature phrases and attitude, and it’s fantastic!

Always informative, palatable and generally entertaining - even on the tough topics. Appreciate and respect JVN’s vulnerability and willingness to learn about anything and everything, and also use his platform to raise awareness. Quality podcasting! 😊

    Yes JVN!
Thank you so much for your fierce curiosity and for giving us these insightful and illuminating conversations. I appreciate so much your recent themes around social justice ( trans rights and the environmental injustice in Ohio too). Thank you so much for your gorgeous work in this world!
