Austin xmfijmgExcellent team podcastAs an American getting into the Lions the past few years I am trying to learn as much as I can about the team due to no local AFL media exposure. This podcast does a great job in getting you familiar with both men’s and women’s sides (p.s. Kate McCarthy is super charismatic gem that is a great rep for the Lions overall and hopefully is on the team for many years), so I like that I get many viewpoints of the club especially the financial side. I would love seeing a dedicated a special podcast episode to things such as marketing and finance along with history. Now unlike some team sponsored podcasts this one is still critical of the team; especially in that they don’t shy away from the negatives of a struggling club in a rugby league heartland (wish it was union). They go over all the relevant stuff in a very relaxed and enjoyable manner. I do like when they bring in some off-topic stuff like married at first site even if I don’t watch it. Overall I have it 5 Stars not because they asked for it or rewarded people for it, that’s cheating the system to me, but because they really are that good. I get to know many sides of the Lions and get news I would have not known about as footy is not really a thing at any noticeable level. So a strong recommendation for any Lions fans especially those who are international. Also if the hosts read this please shout at the AFL for charging $150USD for global pass and even the Lions FO for Global Lions membership being a bit pricey (needs a scarf in that global package as well) compared to similar options in the United States. I already have the NHL subscription at $140 for 82 games across 31 teams that are shown at reasonable times. So see if you can talk to someone at the club or the AFL in general that can get a reduced price (maybe $80-100USD) for only a single team package like every league stateside has such as me only getting to live stream Lions games. Sorry for the rant as I want to give Lions money for watching yet cannot afford to.
