Update: the more I listen, the more sure I am that Kristin Holland is a vocal genius. He makes voice acting a true art form. And I still miss a Voice from Darkness. Great mix of old and new tales. Exceptional voices in each, thanks to Kristin Holland. My only critique would be that I do find myself wishing for the return of A Voice from Darkness.

Great variety with only one voice!

I'm a huge fan of horror podcasts and have listened to hundreds or thousands of hours of them. I saw this one and thought I'd give it a try. I tried to make it through a more recent episode, The Different Face and just couldn't take any more of the trite, unoriginal, and slow pace crap. I may give it another chance, but it'll be a while before I'm willing to forgive the waste of my time.

It’s like listening in a crypt. Like old school radio and the Crypt Keeper on a dreary Hallows Eve night. Most enjoyable. The emotion the narrator expresses is worth every second, Thank you Kristin Holland! You’re the best

This is the most enjoyable, well produced and thoroughly entertaining podcast that I have had the pleasure to find! My commute daily is up 90 minutes twice a day, mainly on dark scary roads. This is the perfect companion. My sincere appreciate on a great job!

This is hands-down my favorite horror fiction podcast. I wish it was updated more frequently. I’ve listened to all of these stories at least twice. Kristin Holland has a very dynamic and versatile voice that really gives me chills.

I cannot speak highly enough of Kristin Holland's voice work. As good as the stories are--and they are very good--Kristin's storytelling raises them to another level.

It honestly doesn’t get better: stories, narrator, production are all top notch. I listen to a lot (maybe too many?) of podcasts, and while there are a ton of good ones out there, this is a great one. If you like well-told stories that send a tingle down your spine and linger after the telling - not to mention an incredibly bingeable, lengthy trove of episodes to dive into - you’re in the right place.

Never miss a episode and always replay these episodes. The voice actor and everyone else that makes this podcast happen I would like to say thank you for bringing the best every time you post a new episode. Hope you do this as long as possible. Really appreciate good content

I listen to several different well known genre fiction podcasts, but Nocturnal Transmissions’s narrator is hands down the most skilled of any podcaster you will ever hear!!! Truly a treasure!! Do yourself a favour and listen to this podcast on a dark and stormy night!!

Love this one kinda bummed about the voice from darkness podcast it was awesome too

I just recently started listening to this podcast. Typically I don’t like gore in horror films. But for some reason I really enjoy dark gore filled tales as podcast and many of their episodes are just that. The narrator is fantastic. If you like scary stories you’ll probably like this series.

I really wanted to hear The Wedigo but I have to pay monthly. I’m too broke to donate .

The only thing Kristin Holland is 'ripping to shreds ' is the competition. Like the saying goes,'If it's too loud ..you must be too old'

Sometimes there’s a good story that the narrator rips to shreds with his lunatic-fringe style of reading. Calm down, man. Screaming at the top of your lungs for 80% of a story isn’t necessary.

I would give a 5, but it annoys me when podcasts use old stories as filler.

I’m fairly new at this whole Podcast thing. A friend recommended that I check out these Horror Podcasts, since I’m a huge reader of Horror Fiction & that I love listening to Horror audiobooks. She thought I’d enjoy them and she wasn’t wrong. It was a bit overwhelming, at first, because there’s so many of these Horror Story podcasts. So, it did take me a good minute to find ones that suited me best. This podcast is hands down my favorite! When it comes to story telling the narrator plays a crucial part in the success of that story. That’s why this podcast is my favorite. The narrator is just phenomenal at what he does. Another thing reason I love it so much is because of the stories told. I just started listening to this podcast and already I’ve heard stories by some of my favorite authors: J.A. Konrath & Lovecraft. I can’t wait to listen to them all. Please, never stop sharing these kickass Horror stories.

I am a big fan of horror story podcasts and Nocturnal Transmissions is starting to become one of my favorites. Kristin Holland is a FANTASTIC narrator with an absolutely hypnotizing voice. Highly recommend!

This is the first podcast that I have became a patrian. I truly love listening to your stories in a true ‘turn off the lights and listen’ experience. No fluff, no nonsense, just a hypnotizing voice and wonderful stories. I look forward to many more!

The stories are amazing, the performance is amazing!!! I started with a voice from darkness and we no new episodes and I get all extra Parton stories listen to in a day. So now I got some more stories to listen to, cuz I love the deep raspy voice to put me to sleep or keep me awake. I’m happy either way!!! Keep up the great work!!!

If you are searching for good, solid, original stories, the occasional masterpieces and classics, all exceptionally performed, they’re here, or surely - uh - bound to be. Hit the subscribe button now, give the show five stars, and drop the man some coin for his labors. I stumbled across this podcast by pure luck, and while in Covid-19 quarantine, I listened to every.single.episode in a single week. FYI, that was three years of his work, for which I did pay, because he bloody well deserved it for such fantastic craftsmanship. I am listening to his performances on other shows now, because I am a newly minted fan as I write this. Kristin Holland is a phenomenal voice actor, and this show is just THAT good. His intro/outro character voice is every bit as ICONIC as John Kassir’s “Crypt keeper” from HBO’s “Tales from the Crypt.” It’s not a fair comparison because these are two VERY different performers, with very different responsibilities, in separate mediums, with wildly divergent resources dictating how the work was...executed. The “Narrator” (glad he has no name) is such a specific character voice you can *instantly* see this character in your mind. I honestly have played episodes on repeat because I find The Narrator and his “other” voices, soothing to listen to; despite the nature of the content. Kristin does all the voices, and at times, it’s staggering to consider it’s the same individual. Truly. Outstanding. The show is very well edited, with high quality vocal sound, and the occasional ambient sound effects sprinkled in here and there. In a creatively just world, this show would get a full ambisonic sound mix - because it deserves it. It could easily be an amazing anthology streamer. However, such an extra digital treat is minor when offset against such superlative skill and talent. Be kind. Share. Pay up. I know you will enjoy these shows as much as I did, Gentle Listener... A+ —> one of best, if not *the best* in the business right now.

Among the top tier of the best horror podcasts around. Intriguing highly literate stories that never fail to throw the unexpected curve ball and avoid the easy trap of the typical Reddit and rehashed Creepypasta fare. Bravo!

Chilling and thought-provoking, this series explores all genres of horror, with excellent production quality and marvelous voice acting. Pulling from various writers and styles, this podcast is limited by nothing save the boundaries of darkness and horror. It explores subjects ranging from the tangible, terrible strength of the instinct to survive, to the metaphysical, unknowable void outside our physical reality. It explores a godless, hopeless world, brings to life the monsters therein, and drags its listeners into the shadows of the human mind and its most maddening imaginings. I highly recommend for anyone that would like to have their mind expanded into the abyss, and their heart topped off with chilled and foreign blood.

This is the best horror podcast I’ve listened to! Kristin Holland is amazing! He brings just the right amount of drama and creep factor to each story. I also like that there isn’t any unnecessary background noise/music so as to not distract from the story and acting.
