    One of my favorites
I've been listening to this podacst since it began in I believe 2017. Somehow, it's always retained a comfortable sense of family. It's a great way to keep up with film news, especially box office analysis. If they could improve the audio quality, that would kick things up to the next level.

    This Show (Still) Rules
Please never stop producing this podcast—it’s a joy to listen to every day. I appreciated Ben’s post-election message of solidarity. It’s horrific that so many people chose who and what they chose, but it wasn’t everyone and we won’t stop fighting for the things we know are right. I hope you all are taking care of yourselves.

    Great easy breezy film podcast
This is a great daily show that offers plenty of news and opinion and discussion on all sorts of new movies and tv. Love all the industry interviews, but even better, I love the ranked lists and the unfiltered commentary on movies and the industry. The water cooler episodes are also a ton of fun, especially when Brad talks about food. It's a great bunch of people and I wish I could hang out with them in real life!

    Embarrassing
How do you have two hosts cover the Joker Folie opening weekend and neither has seen the movie? Amateur hour

    It’s my daily listen
This is a great film nerd podcast. Beyond the daily news, I love the ranking episodes and the reviews on Fridays, but my favorite special episodes are the film festival wrap-ups. Only one minor complaint: the ads are louder than the hosts, which can be jarring when the show breaks for a sponsor and you can’t get to your phone volume.

    Audio No No(s)
Host Ben needs to learn how to record audio that doesn't sound like he's recording from his bathroom and in general they need to balance Host Ben audio w/ Staff call-in audio – they are almost always several dB's lower than he is, and it makes listening to show a bit of a chore.

    Love it
Ben and Co. have been crushing it lately. Good balance of topics, energy, and consistency, especially for a daily show.

    Good show but….
Great show but TERRIBLE AUDIO. The show ads play at volume 10 while the overall show show audio is a 5.5. Crank up the show to hear the audio and get blasted by the ads. Terrible listening experience. Can we BALANCE the audio please.

    Great Show ~ Less Bitterness
Huge fan of the show. I’ve been listening since Peter launched the platform years ago and must say I’ve sensed a recent shift in the overall tone. Specifically, with Ben who used to be a much lighter listen. Hopefully, they are able to rediscover what made them such a great listen in the beginning!

Give The People More Chris Evangelista!!
I am currently catching up on old episodes as my life has been super busy and I am woefully behind on ALL of my podcasts. I agree with reviewer Julie Casey (hope I spelled that right), Chris Evangelista is great and you should have him on more frequently. He is a crank, but in the best way possible! His signature cranky sense of humor cracks me up! But it's not just Chris; I love all of you guys! Slashfilm Daily is my one, and only, source for film industry news. You guys are great!

    Sound
I love this pod, so I’m saying this with no ill will. Ben Pearson’s audio is so distractingly echoey! Is he recording in a tiled empty bathroom? I will literally donate toward getting him a better audio setup. Other than that, love it!!

A go-to podcast and thanks for the film scoring feature
A huge kudos to Ben on his thorough and brilliantly insightful article on the evolution of modern film scoring. As a professional musician who wanted to be John Williams as a kid, it's somewhat disheartening to read about these trends, but I appreciated getting context from voices I admire immensely such as Giacchino and Ottman. I'm a longtime podcast listener and I've enjoyed getting to know (in a sense) all the fun personalities who appear on the program. The box office analysis with Ryan and Ben is can't-miss and IMO Slashfilm is by far the most relatable site for staying current with industry news. Keep up the great work, folks, and let's hope the industry can get its mojo back.

    Awesome show
Just discovered the show last week whilst searching for new pop culture related podcasts. I love the daily format and the discussions you guys get into. I am definitely going to be a daily listener going forward!
  • RVinSoul
    Long time listener
I have been listening daily for at least 5-6 years, probably more, and it changes over time as the hosts change. May have been a bit too Marvel/Disney heavy for a while for example but that changed too. Good balance is hard. Always a good show but now I especially like the box office talk. Keep it up!

    More Chris Please
Love this podcast and listen to every episode. All are great but especially Chris who is a smile! Thanks guys

    Fave Movie Pod
I have been a listener for years and certainly miss the old cast with Peter Jacob , HT, Chris, Brad, and Ben all together every week. Now, with the changing of the guard, I still love this pod even more. I look forward every Monday to hearing my new favorite movie writer Ryan Scott analyze the box office statistics. I truly appreciate Ben’s love and celebration of inclusiveness, diversity, and acceptance. I think he has become such a wonderful , consistent host of this pod. I really enjoy BJ’s, interviews and the wonderful, thoughtful and incisive questions that she asks of producers, writers directors, and actors. I love hearing Jacob become so enthusiastic that he barely breathes while talking in a run-on sentence about his favorite new books or games. I am always down to hear about whatever newest snacks that Brad is consuming. And of course, I would be remiss if I did not shout out my favorite reviewer, Mr. Chris Evangelista and his witty words highlighted by his cigarette tinged smokers voice. Thank you, /Film for all the info, reviews, opinions and chatter from years past, now and whatever is downloading soon !!! Howard McKean Columbus OH

    I give it five stars
I give you five stars. But (no offense) BJ gets a bit too political sometimes and is very judgmental of others that don’t share her world view.

    Best Film Podcast Ever
Everyone here is amazing. They have such great chemistry. Ben, Brad, Chris, and Jacob have led the way as the "old guard" while new voices like Ryan and B.J. add fresh perspectives. For my money, this the absolute best podcast for news, reviews, and just everything involving TV and movies hands down.

    First click of the day
I live in Japan and hit the Daily first thing every morning. Have been listening for years and I am so pleased that Ben has kept the show going. Film and television, books, even food. Lots of solid recommendations here. I especially like Ben’s comments on older films as he fills in his cinema education.

Fun rotating cast of movie experts
I’ve listened since the beginning and always love hearing from the different writers and editors from slash film. Quite a few different points of view and areas of expertise. Great mix news, deep dives, interviews, and in-depth discussions of mostly modern film.

    S/O slashfilm & staff
I listen to /film daily, well, daily… it lives up to its name and brings the latest film and TV news from the experts themselves. The podcast has found its rhythm since Peter left and flows extremely well regardless of who is on. If this show somehow dissolves it would be the equivalent of all things awful - like taking candy from a baby, watching the US political system go through a presidential election cycle, war, and finding out your favorite TV show is ending. I’m not sure why there’s so much hate in the world, so please don’t let a good thing die. There are not enough stars in the universe to rate this show, but I’ll settle for 5.

Insightful film chat I look forward to daily
Listening to /Film Daily is one of the things I most look forward to doing each weekday. Ben Pearson and the other /Film contributors on the podcast provide insightful analysis of film news and have really interesting conversations about movies in general. I especially tend to have a blast listening to Ryan Scott’s box office analysis and recent episodes ranking films in a particular series or in a particular director’s filmography to tie in with certain new releases (for example, a Hunger Games ranking when The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes came out or a Matthew Vaughn ranking when Argylle came out). If there’s one thing I’d want altered, it’s just for their DC coverage to be as frequent and thorough as their Marvel coverage, as I immensely enjoy their coverage of both, but there’s far more of the latter than there is of the former.

My daily go -to for film news.
Slashfilm Daily is the best daily film podcast, in my opinion. Not only does the show keep me up to date with everything that I need to know about the film and media landscape, but the people who work there are genuinely good people that care. They care about film, they care about the medium, they care about each other, and the care about the listener. Slashfilm Daily is where personality, passion, and impeccable knowledge collide!

    Great show
I’m shocked to see these negative reviews. I started listening to the pod a couple months ago and it’s good stuff for a daily show.

    Great show, lots of ads
Great show, have been listening since the premiere. It’s changed a lot, and mostly for the best. I listen every day, love Ben as the host, and everyone else who comes on. Main complaint is the sheer amount of ads. SO many.

    Better and Better
My number 1 horror pod cast. The hosts are really starting to gel!

    Pure drivel
There was a time slashfilm was a solid site for movie news. Then it got sold to a large company and now runs listicles and pointless articles about things the writers read on other sites. This show is the audio version of that. I’d rather hit myself repeatedly in the crotch with a sharp stick than have to listen to this again.

    Ups & Downs
I’ve been listening to this podcast for several years now, and I can confidently say that I *love* the addition of Ryan Scott to the regular lineup. I held off on reviewing for a few months to make sure my opinions were solid, but this guy really has it down. I love his perspectives and his presence behind the microphone, and I love the box-office/business focus he brings to the show. He handles the audio medium extremely well and I hopefully look forward to hearing Ben introduce him in every intro to the podcast! On the down side, it’s incredibly jarring and disappointing when B.J. casually throws out a comment like “we live in a white supremacist society” halfway through her analysis of some movie or book. At a minimum, that claim is simply not relevant to this conversation. I would argue that’s it’s also wildly divisive and not supported by fact, but I don’t think is the medium to discuss that topic— and my main point is that that claim is not at all a widely-held or accepted belief. At this point, she slips in so much political garbage into her analysis that I turn off the episode whenever I hear her introduced.

    The Problem is Ben
I used to listen to this show on the regular. I was a big fan of Peter, Chris, and Ryan Scott, in particular. I felt that for a long time it was a good mix of personalities with varied and interesting viewpoints. However, Ben and his Uber-left wing slant on everything gets beyond tiring to listen to. We get it, buddy, you’re the most leftiest of the left. You don’t have to ‘virtue signal” all the time, because it is OBVIOUS where you stand politically. Maybe Ben should step aside and go pursue a podcast that deals exclusively with left wing causes, and let Slash Film bring in some new blood as host? Maybe someone who actually cares about discussing the brass tacks of the entertainment industry? Just a thought.

    Great Show
I’m so upset with this podcast. I use to listen to it regularly. But since Peter left they have lost their connection with their audience. Very sad
  • Not a "talk show"
    M4M
A show full of men gassing up other men in Hollywood. Even when talking about a movie full of women like Bottoms, they find a way to spend 10 minutes hyping up Marshawn Lynch and no one else in the movie. Their initial talks of Barbie, they spent most of the time talking about Christopher Nolan and Ryan Gosling. And don’t hold your breath for a woman guest speaker, you’ll pass out. BJ Colangelo is a newer and very welcome addition, but one person isn’t a monolith. I’ve been listening for years and am not an avid reviewer but my pattern recognition can’t take it anymore and I just hope this opens eyes and ears to biases.

    Getting back to normal
I’ve been listening to this podcast since their hay days in the beginning. I LOVED the original group that had formed to its peak right before the pandemic. Understandably, after the pandemic it fell apart. Things happen. But as the entertainment world opened back up,the /Film podcast did not. Peter became obsessed with creating content and, how to make, and who made, the most money in Hollywood. Since he’s retired to do what he’s really into, the podcast is coming back around. Some of the regulars are coming back and the obsession with box office results is receding. I wish they could do more podcasts throughout the week again, I really do enjoy what they have. Ben is a great host and crazy right-wing conspiracy theorist probably don’t even listen to this show.

    Just talk films
Have been listening on and off for years. In the Mission Impossible cast one of the guys mentioned that right wing are buying tickets for Sound of Freedom stating that he heard that theaters were sold out but nobody was there. Why mention this when you can’t confirm? It’s pretty sickening that I listen to the podcast for a mediocre take on films because the veteran casters are gone and they decide to force some political view on me. People think it’s ok to push an agenda without proof. Suggest you stick to barely understandable takes on films and avoid politics.
  • JkJustice
    Ignorance
The ignorance around the Sound of Freedom conversation relating to its box office was truly astonishing. The hosts perpetuated the QAnon “adjacent” nonsense of its actor and the real life person he portrayed, don’t bother to mention if they’ve seen the film, the merits of its subject matter, especially that it was a true story and then proceed to spread their own “conspiracy” speculations that the far right-wing is buying up tickets. I know I won’t be missed, but I’ve unsubscribed.

    GREAT PODCAST
I love this show. I really miss Hoai-Tran Bui though. Chris Evangelista is by far my favorite. Ben Pearson is awesome. BJ is pretty unbearable I have to say. I roll my eyes to 90 percent of the things she says.
  • buttamack
    Haven’t listened in awhile because…
Ben Pearson just brings so much negative energy. I thought I’d be ok with the moments of the year episode because so many other people were on it. I was wrong, about 40 minutes in he goes on this rant that just sucked all of the light out of the room.
  • Badyouthspeaker
    Lively, fun conversations
I found this podcast through one of the host’s YouTube channel. These are always entertaining conversations about the latest news. There are a wide variety of perspectives so there is a little bit for everyone here.
  • Acoustified
Good weekly news. Inconsistent audio quality.
I listen and enjoy each of the episodes however it annoys me about the inconsistent audio from episode to episode. Some episodes you can hear each speaker well and others sound poor and not edited properly. I wish that every episode would go through a post audio editing process to make sure each person’s audio is loud enough and doesn’t sound like a poorly recorded zoom conversation. Please make sure each guest microphone volume is consistent. My only other complaint is some of the host are a little too grumpy about movies that they don’t like. I come to this podcast to learn about what’s new in film, not about someone’s cranky, dislike for specific films.
