Movie doctorLife changing!!!My doctor recommend this. If I had found it on my own I probably wouldn’t have considered it.* But after 30+ years of debilitating physical symptoms, dozens of medications, lots of needles, tens of thousands of dollars in medical expenses and hours/days spent in medical appointments and out of work I was ready for something else. This is easy and cheap compared to everything else I tried for my health and infinitely more helpful! I am largely pain free and when I’m not this helps me get out of pain *I am also a medical doctor in the “traditional” model at an academic institution. It has worked so well for me I refer my patients here.

Jenbooks13Self involved host and vague storiesI listened to the episode with the host’s doctor. Who “cured her” and himself was “cured” with Saro’s approach. Host frequently bursts into giggles and laughs. Loves to talk about herself. The doctor seems more grounded but his story baffles: all this debilitating pain and when he decides it’s centered in his brain he takes his bike out and bicycles through the pain reminding himself its origin is in the brain and by the end of his cycling trip he’s much better and within a month cured. As for the host, no idea of her process. Listeners want to know from the guest their story but from a doctor specializing we should have multiple stories. Moreover there should be caveats. Sometimes there is actual organic damage and you shouldn’t just for example cycle through it for an hour. You can make it worse. Also, there are conditions that might be helped from repetitive negative thought patterns, but not completely addressed because there are underlying actual conditions that don’t have to do with the brain. I found this episode just sloppy and annoying. And the host repeatedly bursting into laughter. It doesn’t mean I’m not interested in the ideas themselves. I’ll try one more episode to see if this was a fluke.

JohnstogHard episode, but overall I love this podcastMaking Friends With Your Fears and Your Feelings I loved this episode a lot. BUT while I usually really appreciate that most episodes don’t go into any details about sexuality, unfortunately this one did (ironically that is a huge fear trigger for me 😫) Please understand, I still really have respect for both host and guest and I’m so thankful for the insights they shared and I loved listening to them. It just is a big fear trigger for me to deal with sexuality and the nuances that come with in our world. I know that it’s hard to navigate and I hold space for that too, want to send kind vibes out while I still express my opinion, but I wanted to make my voice heard about keeping that out of this space, no matter the orientation. I hope this comes across with respect and that I am not trying to push my own agendas, just know that I want to keep it a safe space for all. Thanks for considering. And thank you so much for all you do in this field. You have truly changed my life

SixthbirdUnbearableI tried the episode on over exertion and gave up after listening to the host and her guest describe their own suffering in excruciating detail for 40 minutes. I understand the importance of sharing stories but had to turn it off. I’d suggest more time exploring solutions.

NY state lotteryGood content but new host is kind of annoyingLots of laughter for a subject that is pretty serious and depressing. It can seem somewhat insensitive and not super professional. I loved the previois host!

readerofbeachbooksHit takes on healingI thought your latest episode hot takes on healing was the most useful information I’ve gotten since reading the way out two years ago. Being someone that tries to follow instructions to the letter when the outcome is very important to me, (like getting rid of pain( the “baby steps”, and the building up to somatic tracking, journaling, and outcome independence wasn’t something that was inherently obvious to me. I strongly believe that they should be included in the initial information provided. Also what you were saying about measuring recovery and how we compare ourselves to the recovery stories: I understand why it’s helpful for people that are first encountering this material to see recovery stories that happen quickly. Who wants to be introduced to material and hear, ”Well, if you try for four years, you’ll eventually be out of pain!” But I think it’s important to have one or two recovery stories from people that take a couple years or a few years to get out of pain to normalize that situation too. Fantastic podcast series- very impactful

Joannas zooA tad more seriously pleaseI am a curable subscriber, listened to most of the podcasts. Just wondering if you can make the show this year sound less like you are at a party. Too much laughing like its fun, not like we are in chronic pain. Just noticing it this year.

slatyforkExcellent app and support!Curable is helping me to navigate my way out of chronic pain. It’s an excellent resource of interviews, recovery stories, meditation, and so much more. I listened several times to some of the interviews and as I’m learning more, I understand more.

Found freedomGet the app!I stumbled on one of these podcasts months ago and didn’t fully connect. But I recently found the Curable app and I would recommend that as a starting point! (also it’s not expensive) There is so so much there, so much supportive help, knowledge, options for all kinds of learning and exercises from which to choose. I’m being challenged, but also shown empathy, and I have all sorts of expert advice available to me. The podcast episodes can be linked from the app as well and they support the learning and help available on the app. I don’t know if anyone has looked at their medical board of advisors on their website, but it’s quite impressive. The three founders - wow I commend you for doing this work. It seems like the whole world should know about it! Very professional and science backed, and really creative in engaging with app users. I am hopeful to move forward in my healing journey. Thank you.

DadjbEvery human should listen to this podcastOver 10 years ago, I recovered from a terrible bout of back pain. It was a very classic mind body story of running out of all other options, and finally coming back to the miraculous insights of Dr. John Sarno, other clinicians and a pain psychologist. I have experienced hip pain for the last three years. I previously had surgery on that hip so it never occurred to me that it might not be related to that surgery. I had an MRI and an injection that only helped for a couple of months. When I asked the physiatrist if I was correct in saying that the MRI showed mild and likely normal wear and tear t I realized it must be caused by the mind-body connection. This podcast has energized me to reconnect with the resources and processes I need to not only work on curing my hip pain, but also to integrate the knowledge and techniques going forward in my life.

Girlchef1858So happy I found this! This podcast is a bright light in the chronic pain world. Easy to listen, great guests and practical examples. I just got the Curable app as well excited to see what will unfold. The episode ‘How to get back to your favorite activities with or without pain’ with Dr. Asare Christian was amazing. Seeing it from a neurologist perspective was eye opening.
-
barbbobermarqTook a nose diveI like this podcast very much and also Curable and believe whole heartedly in mind body medicine. But the shift to Kristine Weepy and interview with Lillie was a huge nose dive. I come to postcasts to hear a conversation and authenticity and the way this podcast was 2 people reading from paper was so so disappointing. It was such a good message. Why not just tell it from your heart ?
-
barefootinmaGood content, so-so hostingI was glad to see that there’s a new host, at least for the time being, since I find the usual host to be inexperienced at interviewing. However, the guest is just monologuing and it’s insufferable. Please do a better job with your hosts, guest prep, etc. The content is useful and needed.
-
Estela09Too much oppression nonsenseThis podcast used to be good but lately it’s been excessively “woke” to the point where all the victim mentality contradicts Dr. Sarno’s work. I am an immigrant and a “person of color” living in a conservative state and never have I ever attended a party that made me worry about whether there would be people like me there, or if the white people around me were judging me. A lot of the mindbody work has to do with just living your life to the fullest and seeing imagined “marginalization” everywhere is the complete opposite of that.

Cf317No repeat podcasts pleaseI love this podcast but am discouraged by the repeat podcasts. There is a lot of information they could continue to cover, and testimonies to garner. I would love to not have repeats especially as the Podcast is only updated so rarely!!

Ashley BartanenThere is hopeI should have written a review a long time ago. I had an abrupt start to severe nerve pain that was not helped by any medication or change in diet or therapy. I had this life altering pain for 10 months before I found out about the Curable app. I did the app and I did the 12 week curable group, it was a lot of journaling and a lot of hard work, but I would do anything to relieve my pain being that I was in a place of complete desperation. The success stories on this podcast and in the app gave me so much hope. Its been almost a year since I started this journey with curable, and I have my life back and I’m not in pain anymore. It truly feels like a miracle, but I know it’s not because I did all the work to get here. I’m back to skiing, doing yoga, traveling- all of it. And I don’t live in fear of health issues anymore. A huge thank you to the curable team, you are truly saving lives. I share my story when I can (everyone wants to know how I got better because it was a drastic recovery)- but it really takes individuals coming to their own point of desperation in order to grab on.

grateful spaceSo grateful for these conversationsAfter many years of chronic IBS I am so thrilled that there is actual help. Listening to these podcasts confirms my faith that I too can heal, that I’m not alone, that there is a way back to health. I am more than grateful for the availability of this info. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Alaskagal88Life changing complement to curable appThis podcast along with the curable app gave me my life back! Most of my life I have suffered from migraines which became chronic in the last year. I was skeptical at first, but once I started using curable and listening to the podcast I was able to bring my pain down to zero without the use of medication during an attack. I went from 15 migraines a month to one! If you suffer from any type of chronic pain this is 100% worth a try, you have nothing to lose!

sara_elisaObsessed!This show is an absolute gem. If you’re at all curious about the mind-body connection and chronic pain, this is your show. I have found the episodes with practitioners informative and the episodes with patients inspiring. Sometimes when I have a bad pain day, this podcast gives me hope. Thank you, Curable! I love this podcast almost as much as I love the app!

Cat ZeckHope for the hopelessAfter decades of chronic migraine and headache, I have said for many years that I think my head (and body) are in a habit of pain, and I had no doubt there has been a psychological component to my pain. However, I had no idea how to change this habit or even if I could. I didn’t know I had any power to control it. This podcast (and app) gives me daily hope, information, and helps me to stay focused and encouraged as I work toward healing and taking my life back. I haven’t been sure that was even possible before discovering this world. So incredibly grateful for these people that have found their own healing and are now sharing it with the rest of us.

vharmonicLife ChangingIt’s no exaggeration to say this podcast has been Life Changing for me. After 10 years of struggling with pain while playing music. I am now playing music everyday with no pain. So greatfull for what you guys are doing.

kimluce99Life ChangingIt’s not an exaggeration at all to say that this podcast has totally changed my life. I’m jogging again for the first time in 16 years and I couldn’t be more thankful.

Rie-embodyChronic pain? Binge thisWhenever I find myself doubting that I can heal my pain, listening to this podcast gives me hope. People with similar - or way worse situations tell about their improvement and I can always connect with some part of what they’ve gone through.

Tonya EngstLife changing and engagingI found this podcast through the iPhone's Curable app. These podcasts have been like torches in a dark series of twisty passageways, helping me to navigate a terrifying situation with pain that had recently become "chronic." (My medical diagnosis was S1/L5 herniation - if you have that and are reading this, you know how bad that can be. Like, worse than childbirth. Once I was ready to hear it, my diagnosis by a mind-body physician was different and had me out running that day - out of significant pain within just a few days.) If you are experiencing chronic pain, you gotta try the Curable app. These podcasts were key to my recovery and have opened the doors to many new ideas and ways of understanding the human experience. -Tonya Engst

PainfreeLisaExtraordinary Resource!I think the Curable app and the ‘Like Mind Like Body’ podcasts are in invaluable source of inspiration, education, and community for any who has experienced chronic, intermittent, or sudden pain episodes that they get no relief from by traditional methods! Luckily, I was able to see John Sarno some 20 years ago and his teachings have been invaluable in my personal journey with pain. I now practice mind / body principles in my clinical work with great success. I have enjoyed every single podcast and every single bit of information that you have offered on the app. I recommendthe app to everyone who I think might benefit…and that would be everyone. - Lisa

Prague listenerLove these podcastsI love these podcasts. I'm using curable for almost a year now. I love the science and I love Laura's interviews. I've read a couple of less than enthusiastic, but I can't say I feel the same way. She is informed about the ones she interviews and has a great way of getting them to explain their views. I am WAY better than a year ago, and reminding myself of the science again and again really helps me.
-
Lilly07Great show!I absolutely love this podcast and how much wonderful information it provides. My only request is that it feels like the quality has shifted recently. The older interviews with experts used to feel very in-depth and interested, but the most recent ones feel very short and surface level. Please bring back better quality/longer interviews!
-
SusanARichExcellent resourceOn the cutting edge, it explains the new science of pain. The people interviewed are articulate and fascinating. The recovery stories are hopeful and inspiring. It's the beginning of what may be a long journey, but one that I feel certain will get me to where I want to be.

christine 222Fantastic, insightful and life changingThe Curable app is a life CVHS get for me. It has really helped me get understand myself better and to learn how to take control of my pain and help it disappear. The Podcasts are so insightful and well done. Absolutely love how it’s improved my life!
-
Jananda SunshineLife ChangingThis podcast and the Curable app completely uprooted what I *thought* I knew about chronic pain. If you are a sufferer, do yourself a favor and listen to this podcast. You won’t regret it. And it *may* change your life.

goodbyeoldfriendGive it a try! This podcast along with the app (even just the free content!) has helped me re-frame my pain and my life. Anyone who is sick of the mainstream medical system and being told that nothing is wrong with them despite being in extreme physical and mental pain will benefit from this if they are open to it. It has personally helped my back pain from a traumatic injury and surgery, IBS, and extreme anxiety. The teachings in this podcast affirms the fact that there is indeed nothing wrong with you- your brain is just doing its best at its job, but it got a little confused along the way and stuck in unhelpful patterns. The experts help you untangle all of this so that you can literally turn the dial down on your physical pain, because the pain that you feel is real- they don’t dispute that. I am careful about what Information I feed my brain and I listen to what my brain is telling me now. Pain truly is like an emotion- it just wants to be acknowledged, felt, expressed, and treated with compassion and non-judgement. Journaling and meditating can help immensely with this. The host of this podcast, Laura, does an excellent job! Her voice is soothing and her interviewing skills are great! So grateful to have been opened up to this whole new world. I don’t feel broken for the first time in 4 years.
-
Betsy JensenAmazing Resource, Very EnlighteningI love this podcast and think it is very well done. The interviews cover a wide range of topics and include experts in the field. I have learned a lot about the newest neuroscience research, which is so helpful in understanding the brain and healing. I would recommend this to anyone looking to expand their mind and heal their life.
-
fancyBFHealingI began the Curable program (app and podcasts) just two weeks ago and I’m already getting my life back! From the introductory lesson on how my brain created the pain, I became a believer because I thought to myself, “Yes- that’s me!” I slept that night, and every night since because I was no longer anxious about why I wasn’t recovering from my pain. Words cannot express the gratitude and hope this program has given me.
-
LauraM6992Very enlightening and informativeI’m so happy I came across this podcast and Curable. It’s helped me look at my chronic pelvic pain from a different angle and it makes sense. More than what the doctors were explaining to me. Thank you to the Curable team for all of the work you do. You are inspiring people and saving their lives.
-
icmacdChronic migrainesThis podcast and the curable program couldn’t have been more critical to my progress dealing with chronic migraines. I can’t recommend tuning in enough!
-
BoofydogLove itAllan and Aron do a fantastic job of keeping you engaged and interested. The podcast is fascinating so far and as a member of the chronic pain community I really appreciate their help and efforts. This is changing the face of pain in America along with the late doctor sarno and drs shubiner, Hanscom, sacks, schecter and many others.
-
Baklava22Wonderful podcastI love this podcast and have listened to every episode. Every episode is healing for me. I only wish episodes were more regular because I’m always eagerly awaiting the next one. Thank you

benmacdonald621A GodsendA huge shoutout to Jessica and team! Curable has absolutely changed my life. I’ve had daily migraines since March 23, 2014–not one day without a headache. I’ve gone through every medication/treatment you can think of, including 2 weeks inpatient and an unnecessary surgery, and have had minimal success. Occasionally a treatment would help for a short time, but I remained in a constant state of fear, anger, exhaustion, depression, etc. I started using the Curable app about 7-8 weeks ago and the results are remarkable. I now feel like I have power over the pain and while I still have headaches, the severity is decreasing and I’m actually starting to have pain-free days. The podcast is fantastic—it helps to gain insight and reinforces what I’m learning through the app. If you’re suffering, I highly suggest downloading the Curable app! II get very excited when a new podcast is released, as it reinforces what I’m learning through the app.

Schmeve2019Just An Ad for the AppI listened to one episode because the description of someone’s “recovery” sounded interesting. After listening to the guest continually speak for almost 25 minutes (it was as if there wasn’t even a host), the episode winded down with the guest vaguely telling of her recovery through using the Curable App. She never offers a single detail of exactly how the app helped her. By the end of the episode I realized I fell for an ad for a ridiculously overpriced app. If you’re truly interested in learning about the mind/body connection, there are other podcasts out there there that explore similar content in greater depth, with more professionalism, and with actual valuable discussions between the host and guest.

in the medical fieldRead the books tooI found Dr Sarno’s books life changing and recommend them to all my chronic pain patients. Why did the podcast stop? No new podcast in May and June?? I haven’t seen any new ones and I’ve listened to all the podcasts 2-3 times.
