GCusackEpisode 273 StorytellingI absolutely loved this episode. Each speaker had a different view on their experience as an oncology nurse, and everyone validated for me why I continue to love the oncology nursing profession and the Oncology Nursing Society. We are all able to grow from one another’s perspectives and this has inspired me to blog my 39 years in nursing, most of which were in hematology/oncology. Thank you so much for the inspiration and thanks to Susie who posted the podcast on LinkedIn.

flintstone_fanGood info, can’t get CE creditThe link for the CE eval only takes me to ONS.org general website. This is frustrating. How do I get to the eval part to obtain my ce? Otherwise good info. Not sure I’ll waste a lot of time here if I can’t get credit for it though.

Holly BearyGood for aural learnersI listened to a whole bunch of these podcasts back to back while on a road trip. I did learn quite a bit. I did not find the format to be very engaging, however. Host Stephanie Jardine has a great voice for audio. She has obvious knowledge and experience as well, but I don’t think we listeners get to benefit from this as much as we could. I wish there were more spontaneous follow-up questions to the guests’ prepared responses to prepared questions. I really wish there were fewer remarks about things being “interesting” and “important”; one would hope that most of the guest comments and explanations are interesting and important. It would be good to have follow-up explanations of abbreviations and rephrasings of more difficult concepts and maybe more examples and personal stories to make the content more engaging. Overall, I find this a valuable resource, especially for nurses new to oncology practice.

phoenix RNGreat showI just listened the show about nursing education. I taught didactic for 2 years and just stunned that the curriculum is so outdated. Now throw in COVID. I wish the curriculum would change since nursing has changed too.

TridreamingThe Oncology Nursing PodcastThis is an excellent resource for nurses who are beginning to see patients being treated with CAR-T therapy. This is a great overview of the treatment as well as the possible side effects, pt. teaching is also included. Would recommend for nurses wanting to hear about this therapy. Great Job Katie and Megan!!
