In their most recent episode they decide to cover the recent NY Times article which addresses the lack of black directors/films in the Criterion Collection. But, clearly, they only covered the article out of their apparent white guilt b/c they spend most of the time defending CC and its president and collectively struggle to think of black directors/films worthy of being added to the collection, admitting to not having seen such titles as Boyz in the Hood and Pariah. Their other episodes are just as laughable. Best of and end of year lists are repetitive and pedestrian. And film reviews are simplistic and uninteresting. Much of their discussions implies that there is nothing of value here.

I love the different ideas talked about and funny bits between the guys. I appreciate the table of contents so I can listen to the movies I have seen or want to see. Keep them coming!!

The podcast title is spot on, casual cinema discussion. I like the laidback, friendly tone of this show. They discuss a great mix of movies from new releases to classics. Particularly enjoy that they dedicate episodes to Criterion releases. Perhaps the best aspect of this podcast is they are clearly very knowledgeable and the discussions are intelligent... but they don't speak down to the listener. Love hearing smart film discussion with the "film snob" attitude!

My sons and I do an entertainment podcast and I like these guys. I feel like I could talk movies with these guys, which is huge for me. So many movie podcasts are guys that I don’t like. These are likeable guys. -Strictly Talking

Finding another podcast with the same initials basically means we are obligated to listen lol! I actually really enjoyed this podcast. This pod has such a laid back and casual feel. The hosts are not super in your face but the bits and pieces they pick out of movies I thought I knew inside and our are astounding. Dont listen to this if you dont wanna have to rewatch your favorite movie over again because these guys will make you think!

This is easily one of my favorite movie podcasts! It’s clear that the hosts all get along and that makes the show a lot of fun to listen to, almost like you’re hanging out with a group of friends. They’re very informed and offer a wide range of film discussion, all while keeping the conversation casual and down to earth!

Started listening just yesterday, and really liked what I heard. What I appreciated most was the light-hearted tone of the show, particulalry in the Criterion episodes. There are a ton of podcasts out there going through the Criterion collection, and they're all dreadfully pretentious, so hearing these movies discussed the same way my friends and I would was a welcome relief. Also welcome is the outstanding audio quality, an unfortunately rare thing in movie podcasts. Will definitely keep listening.

Big budget blockbusters or smaller independent films without as much coverage, these guys see and review them all. They have great depth to their discussion and provide a lot of insight and respectful commentary on the flicks they take in. Very thoughtful and there’s something for everyone!

Great show with people who absolutely know what they are talking about and who you you would just want to hang around with. They aren't lying about Casual. Very conversational and let's you get to know the hosts!

If you're looking for in-depth movie discussion, with fair spoiler alerts, this is the podcast for you. Watch for a movie you've seen and see if you agree with the comments. And listent to discussions about movies you haven't seen because it might just pesuade to give the movie a watch! Enjoy!

Ever since Blockbuster closed I've been missing chatting up my local DVD jockey. Luckily, I stumbled upon Justin, Mike and Chris. Take that Netflix, you can't rob me of this human interaction!

Really well informed and great chemistry between the hosts. I suggest picking your favorit movie they have done and start listening!

After listening to a couple of episodes now, i really enjoy the conversations i hear on this show. This show is very easy to listen to and whether you have seen the movie or not they got your back. With their wide variety of movie choices for the show, this show is for anyone. Highly recommend.

I really REALLY wanted to like this podcast. It’s a great idea. But the hosts’ low energy, long pauses, fumbling for words, and unfamiliarity with the historical and artistic context of the films they’re discussing makes it an infuriating listen. After struggling to slog through three episodes, I’m out.

Casually Criterion brings a friendly conversation to films that need it. These guys have the background and passion to deliver excellent points and topics on new cinema AND old.

These guys don’t just talk all artsy movies, or all new movies. It’s a great blend of pop culture from all decades.... very informative and fun.

Prior to CC, I had no purpose in life. Days were spent in quiet remorse, loathing the insanity of humanities juxtaposition to humanism. All was blissfully remedied the moment I heard the melodic voice of Mr. Christopher Reaves. His intelligent analysis of films the average cinemaphile would dismiss as worthy of the dung heap, resurrected such titles into magnificence. I applaud the dedication and tenacity of the hosts in their mission to reinvent what the proletariat perceives as normalcy.

A binge worthy podcast! It’s just a couple of enthusiastic film lovers with a lot of information from all ends of the filmmaking spectrum. Highly recommend for the casual and intense film going viewers.

Really liking these guys so far

I’d never listened to a podcast before but was recommended this one by a friend. I listened to it on the way home from work and really enjoyed it. I’ve never heard of the film they discussed (Grand Illusion) but I felt like I’d watched it. The podcasters were very knowledgeable and passionate about it and I found myself caring. I’m looking forward to the other films they have on their slate and actually look forward to my work commute.

These guys are new but enthusiastic can't wait for more
