SoleilfoodThis pod is addictive!A must listen for every Beatles fan. It’s fascinating to hear how each piece comes together to make a whole. Being amazed by the finished product is only one part of the story. How it came together makes each song even more impressive. Thank you Jason for bringing this to every Beatles fan!

DamDamDammyLove it!I don’t know how Jason does this without ads but I’m not complaining. I just found the podcast last night and have listened to every episode, a few of them twice. Thank you for providing listeners such a high quality foray into the production aspect of the Beatles’ work. I hope you can keep them coming; I’ll keep listening!

SPSaylorRe: “Now and Then.”Removing the bridge was a terrible decision. Musically it’s beautiful and makes the song richer, and lyrically it complicates the song’s ideas in a way that is typical of Lennon, who, by the way, would have abhorred Beatles myth-making as a motivation in the studio.

Atticus25We miss you. More, please. One of my favorite listening experiences, in any medium, ever. I always learn something new, am frequently stunned, and always re-listen to each episode. Thanks for the high quality and well-produced show. It’s been since April’s stellar Strawberry Fields deep-dive, so we’re more than ready for what’s next. Thanks for bringing such a great show to life. ~ Atticus Santa Cruz, CA

NyanniaFAB podcast!!I’ve listened to numerous Beatles podcasts, and this one is absolutely toppermost of the poppermost! The writing and editing are superb. Well done, I say!
-
Ike IszanyExcellent information.Slick, professional presentation of info even this long time Beatles fan has never heard. I love hearing the tracks separated and hearing about the sixties trickery in production. Top notch stuff but it looks like it has come to an end? Hope we hear some more…
-
Mary in JulianRiveting PodcastThis is the type of podcast that illuminates, educated and absolutely delights. The detail and research depths that Jason Kruppa make this an absolutely compelling documentary. Information on how the production process worked in the late 1960’s and how George Martin created and shaped the sounds of the Beatles is fantastic. This is definitely worth listening to several times.
-
iMacMarqSomething Positively DifferentThis is exactly the kind of well produced (no pun intended) podcast on the Beatles that every fan can appreciate.
-
SvenSulliTotally fun Podcast!!Very intelligent & informative podcast. If you want their recording technique depth, clothed in the “fab four” public story.. …. This is a very smart podcast!
-

reed dickinsonOutstandingThis is the best Beatles podcast I have have have heard. Goes in depth into the recording process in George Martin’s influence on the group. I just wish there were more volumes. Well done!
-
viewfindernycBrilliant!Just discovered this podcast the other day and have already devoured the entire first season, including the bonus episodes. A treat for any Beatles fan, this podcast brilliantly “paints with sound”—to quote George Martin. It not only concisely illustrates Martin’s significant contributions to The Beatles (which most fans already know), but far more interestingly, at least to me, how John, Paul, George and Ringo absorbed lessons from their producer and then outgrew him—and how that maturation in the studio was a contributing factor to the band’s breakup. (Albeit a minor one. IMHO Brian Epstein’s untimely death and John’s insistence on Allen Klein was the real reason the group broke up.) Thoughtful, endlessly entertaining, and extremely well produced. Five stars!

motorstereoOne of the best Beatle podsIf you have any interest at all and how the Beatles created their timeless music, you owe it to yourself to check this out. This is a fantastic explanation of how George Martin was able to creatively capture the energy of the Beatles.

ArtmusicguyBrilliant, Concise, EngagingThere are few podcasts that provide content in a smart way that is free of contrived casualnes, fake frivolity, and a three minute introduction of boring ‘inside stuff.’ This one gets right to the meat of the subject in a highly researched and meticulously produced manner that respects the intelligence of the listener, and which talks directly to the heart of a deep fan of Beatles music. Jason Kruppa is an expert on this topic, and he presents it with great warmth and clarity, like the very music he’s describing. I hope there are more episodes to come. I’m grateful for the ones that have already been produced. Thank you Mr. Kruppa.

A_RandomDurpAmazingEver since I was a kid I always loved the Beatles, my mom loved them too. One day I asked my mom if she could give me a Beatles podcast to listen too, and she gave me this podcast. I love it so much, it’s really incredible, it changed how I listened to the beatles
-
PaulRoweseveltLove this showIf you’re a Beatles fan, this is an interesting take on their incredible legacy from the view point of the studio. I love it.
-
Evepop11Brilliant ShowThis is an incredibly well researched, brilliantly produced deep dive into the Beatles and George Martin’s collaboration and contribution to the art of record making. As others have said in their reviews, this is refreshingly lacking in the gossip/palace intrigue and armchair psychology of so many other Beatles podcasts. If you are primarily interested in how they made those revolutionary, timeless records, this is the podcast for you.
-
DeJunkoI've listened to every episode at least twice. It's so frustrating that almost ever Beatles podcast and blog spends too much time on the mythology and palace intrigue (which can be interesting, up to a point) and very little on the music itself. Well, this podcast changes all that. It is brilliantly researched, recorded, and edited. It brings us deep into the processes that made the music we're all so obsessed with. It's like learning the secret to a magic trick and now finding it even more amazing.
-
MaximumLEDSuperbThis is beyond a 10/10 podcast. Jason’s tightly scripted, edited episodes deliver maximum insight per minute. And the audio production is super smooth and professional.
-
Sonoma HikerSimply incredibleThe level of detail contained in this podcast is breathtaking, and brings the Beatle’s music to life in a way I’ve never experienced, even listening to quite a lot of the Beatles channel on XM satellite radio.
-
dogmightbiteAmazingChanged how I listen to the Beatles
-
MNFunkyStupendous!I consider myself to be well above average in all things Beatles, and this podcast blows my mind every week. I’d give it ten stars if I could!

Beatles Boomer FanDecodes the magicAs a Boomer, I revere the Beatles and have always been aware of George Martin's genius but as a non-musician I was never able to isolate it and understand it -- until this podcast. It is exactly what I was looking for -- doesn't assume a technical background but doesn't talk down to you, either. Its delayering of the storied arrangements -- including deep dives with musicians who discuss and replay key tracks -- adds hugely to a fan's understanding and ability to appreciate the unique accomplishments of the Martin-Beatles partnership

Nelson EddieSuperbI just stumbled across this pod cast and I’m not wanting it to end. It’s very well produced and doesn’t dwell on things most Beatle fans already know. I look forward to many more of these pod casts as there are so many amazing Beatle stories to uncover. Well done!!!
-
DcasertaSmart and entertainingThis is not only one of the best music podcasts I’ve listened to, it’s also one of the best overall podcasts in content, and level of production. I hope he’s working on more of them right now!

Judge TimbersAmazingly Fresh Stuff About The BeatlesWith so much already written and said about the Beatles, I was amazed to discover this gem of a podcast concentrating primarily on the genius of Sir George Martin and his arrangements. I never thought I would be so interested to hear the story behind the clarinet score for When I’m 64, but wow, that was fascinating. Thanks for producing such a high quality and well-researched show. I think the best part, among many things, is the inclusion of guest musicians to play the individual parts and to offer expert insights. Please keep this show going!
-
Not an automatic fan of the bandA must for any Beatles fanFrom exploring the Beatles recording techniques in abbey road studios to fully appreciating George martins scores on Beatles song- this podcast is professionally done and very informative Expect to hear beatles multitracks as you’ve never heard them before He even recorded a new version of the 2nd half of strawberry fields with the cellos and trumpets to fully explore George martins masterpiece score Highly highly recommended if you are a Beatles fan or a musician who likes to record these podcasts are worthwhile!

farriswheel3Best podcast ever!!So we’ll researched, so we’ll thought out and edited, excellent narration and commentary! Music experts provide analysis and even re-recording George Martin’s scores! Super job! I can’t wait for more episodes. Give these folks a raise!!

DangerLuke69A wonderful podcast!!My main fault with this show is that there aren’t more episodes to listen to! That wasn’t a serious critique, by the way. 😊 I’ve been a Beatles fan as long as I can remember. They’re one of the main inspirations for learning how to play music in my own life, and they’ll always be my favorite band. However, even if you don’t consider yourself a Beatles fanatic, you will still very likely love this podcast. It is entertaining in its own right. The production value is simply amazing. The research that goes into each episode is staggering. I’ve read tons of books about The Beatles and their music over the years, and yet this podcast delivers a ton of info that I’ve never heard before each and every time. This show isn’t just regurgitating the same old trivia. It goes so far beyond that. Give it a shot. You’ll enjoy it. Oh, and keep up the great work!
-
pjfingoshenMarvelousEven if you’re a Beatle nut, and think you know everything, this is a wonderful podcast. Intelligent commentary, and splendid isolations.

Mikey NnProducing the BeatlesAbsolutely fabulous!!! So interesting and informative.
-
nycfluxsterGeorge Martin was the "fifth Beatle"I've loved The Beatles's music for decades, and the more I listen and read about them, the more I'm convinced that without George Martin, they would not be the band we know now. They might have still been a great rock band but their ideas would not have gotten fully expressed without someone like Martin. Unlike other Beatles podcasts, this one focuses on a crucial part of their music, and I greatly appreciate it.
-
micschia podcast apartthere are a gazillion beatles-related podcasts. this one sets itself apart, because it's well-written and researched, it's loaded with audio examples (isolations, sub-mixes, etc), and, appropriately, it's well-produced. it also helps that jason has a pleasant speaking voice, and does a nice job delivering his copy. (i can't tell you how many podcasts i've nixed because of awful voices or amateurish delivery.) my only criticism is that there aren't enough episodes! keep it up, jason.
