Podcast is about people, not plot
I get that it won’t be for everyone, but everyone saying that the plot is slow kinda missed that that is the entire point. That is because the show isn’t ABOUT the plot. In my view, the plot here is just something that happens. The show shines in the characters. How they interact, the way they live through it all. It tells a realistic story about people just living their lives, while a story happens alongside all that. Don’t go into this podcast for the story. Go into it for the characters, the friendships. That’s what it’s about.

Addicting show! But how does it end?
But - is there a last season or chapter to how it ends? You left us hanging over a year ago … cliffhanger and then poof? No more? Does it end? If you like a real solution or ending to your binge - fyi there is none to this show

So slow, it’s barely a story
I’m not in the habit of giving bad reviews, but this podcast is awful and I’m frankly feeling like a fool. And I hung in there for all three seasons, believing in the slow burn other reviews said was worth it. The “realistic” conversations are too realistic. Banal and pointless. Talking about menus is a regular event. Whole episodes (hours) will go by in which you learn basically nothing- neither plot nor characters more forward. The actors themselves seem bored with the scripts. Even when action happens (which is exhaustingly rare!) they can barely rustle up an emotive tone. Supposedly they are “all in danger” for three seasons but you’re 2/3 of the way through S3 before they kinda, maybe have some danger. It’s a great podcast for falling asleep, but if you want action, mystery, or intrigue, this is not it.

they feel like family to me!
the characterization of each and every one of these episodes blows me away every time. i feel like i can see and feel exactly what the characters do. the mystery only gets better as the episodes play, so of course this show is worth a listen, and then a re-listen, and maybe even 5 times over, especially since there's SO much to unpack with every single person they introduce to us! it may seem a little slow to begin, but believe me, it's worth it guys. if you go in open minded and willing to have a great story told to you, it's genuinely one of the best shows you can throw on. i love the supernatural lore and events sewn together with such realistic depictions of young adulthood. To the team: thank you so much! i can tell this means a lot to them, and that's honestly the most worth-it part of the equation here. thank you guys! ❤️

Slow but Real and Worth Every Minute
This is a very slow-burn spooky drama where a small group of friends research, argue, investigate, and get terrified. It’s very different from most horror-adjacent podcasts because it all feels very real — the conversations sound like real conversations, the evil people are believably awful, not VILLAINS, and when characters get hurt, it feels real, not “dramatic injury.” It’s definitely a long haul, but I bought into the characters enough to fret all through COVID that it might not come back, but it did! Our main characters are messy, sometimes frustrating people doing their best in a bad place. Try it out, it might be for you!

    Ridiculously slow
Pick a wall at your place that you want to paint. Just pick a simple color and finish painting that wall with a basic color…take a step back, sit down and play this podcast… You will quickly realize you rather watch paint dry rather than waste your time on this podcast…biggest waste of time…if only the world was litigious enough to get that time back… For real…Omg - the plot progression is beyond slow. So much unnecessary dialogue. So slow. They love hearing their own voices too much… The dude, Devin, may have the worst voice acting ever…

    Wicked Good!
This is such a clever, intriguingly spooky show. Voice actors are top notch and the story is great. Do yourself a favor and listen!

    Spooky mystery - excellent!
Some of the most realistic dialogue I’ve heard in a podcast (to the point where I couldn’t believe it was scripted), painful and beautifully written portrayal of grief, great friendships between the main characters, and the anticipation of watching a mystery slowly unfold!

Fun show - the relationships make it work
This is a really fun show. The central mystery is interesting to follow, but what really makes it work are the relationships between the friends who have created a found family. They tease each other, care for each other, argue, reconcile, make jokes — it’s what keeps me listening.

    Like a lot!
Awesome and interesting podcast! A great mystery.

    Remember Scooby doo?
This is similar except there’s no dog, no drugs, no humor, and the story drags on while following the same “mystery accident happened to me” trope that’s been coming back into vogue. It’s not bad, but it’s one of those that just feels like it drags on and on where not much happens. I mean, the first season is basically reminiscent of one of those drive time radio dj shows where they’re talking to each other about their lives. Not something to listen to while doing nothing, but very good as like a workout listen since you don’t have to concentrate on it and it helps time go by while you do the stair master or whatever.

    What Happened to Nolan?
Great mystery show! I heard about this show from a promo ad run on another podcast and just from the trailer I knew it was going to be my kind of show. Now after checking out a few episodes I can confirm it is great and it is my kind of show! The acting is top notch. The friend dynamics feel real. And the story they’re setting up is just a ton of fun to unravel. Cheers!

It’s time to start your marathon of ‘How It Ends’
How It Ends has been a blast to marathon over the past few weeks. I really can’t get enough of this show, the mystery and these characters. Loved the scene with Micah exploring her Father’s things for the first time. The drop-in clips (like the song) were brilliantly executed and implemented. Also really loved the interview with the non-fiction writer in season one. Very cool episode design idea. The dialogue delivery is absolutely some of the BEST and most natural sounding voice acting I’ve heard in all of Audio Fiction. No hyperbole, this is some seriously great stuff.

As far as fictional podcasts go, the acting feels very authentic. Interesting story as well. Can’t wait to hear more!

Really enjoy getting to know everyone in the podcast as the story unfolds week to week. Also, it's so cool to be able to follow along on Instagram and interact with these people! It makes me think of all the creepy memories I have of getting spooked as a kid by ghosts. Super interesting! Thanks for making this podcast! ;)

    Gripping and addictive
I drive 2 hours a day commuting to and from my job so I listen to a fair array of podcasts. How It Ends podcast had me from the very start and I couldn’t get enough. I binged all the episodes in one day! Seriously; it’s a smart, gripping, Unfolding story that I binged from the start. Can’t wait to see How It Ends
