ElainevanBinge worthy!I’ve been a listener since day 1. Charlotte shares her own farming and marketing experience plus that of her clients. I learn something new each episode. I’ve re-listened to episodes and take away more and more helpful strategies to move my own farm ahead. Double bonus—this podcast is professionally produced so it’s as much an enjoyable listen as it is a reliable one. Thanks Charlotte!

SaraJDavisJust what I need!I discovered this podcast a couple weeks ago and I’m so thankful! I listen to you on 2x speed Charlotte because I have a million things I want to do and I absorb things as fast as I can. You’re in my ear every day now! Mindset is key and understanding how manifestation comes from feelings and thoughts is essential! I knew you were my gal when you discussed these topics. I’ve been implementing what you’re teaching and feeling more confident in my flower farm business moving forward in year two. I’m thrilled that I have a lot more to learn from you with plenty of episodes to soak in! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge. Sincerely, a NY flower farmer 💐

jill mcgruderLove this podcast!Your podcast is exactly what I have been looking for. You help me to think outside the box when it comes to marketing. I never would have done an email newsletter because I am myself rarely open my email. However, I have now published two newsletters, and have nothing but excellent reviews. So much of what you talk about is really the foundation of what my husband and I are trying to build together. I especially love how you encourage your listeners to dream bigger. Not just dreaming… But giving methods to make our dreams become realities.

Rose7107Very salesyI think charlotte has some good points; however, the episodes are SO salesy for her courses and coaching. It’s exhausting to listen and to be constantly sold to.

Poplar Ridge Family FarmHelpful GuideCharlotte lays out a helpful guide and plan to stick with and more importantly to get started by! I had a few basics I knew to do but I really took Charlotte’s early episodes to heart and printed out a list of things to do and it really made my operation more professional and legitimate. I appreciate the advice from this podcast!

goofygoobersrockMindset is EVERYTHINGI have been listening to Charlotte for almost 2 years now. I have listened to almost every podcast and what she teaches can change the world. It certainly has changed my world and opened me up to a much better version of myself. I am a much happier farmer for finding thee Profitable Mindset!

Jaycee_RegisNo 25 Step ChecklistI think honesty is key here. The link for a free checklist exists but it isn’t exactly as advertised. The information in the first 5 episodes is helpful but just because a document has check marks added doesn’t make it an effective checklist. Also, there aren’t even 25 check marks…Don’t be dishonest, deliver what you set expectations for our don’t set the expectations. This is exactly how course creators should lose credibility so I hope the following episodes are valuable.

lovethelotusUses as a platform to promote her businessThis podcast started out offering a wealth of usable content and advice for farmers. In the beginning, it was evident that Charlotte genuinely wanted to help farmers and offered tips, advice and mindset shifts that would improve the outlook of your goals and business. Over time it has shifted as a podium to sell her coaching services. The last several months of this podcast have been a chore to listen to because of the constant plugging of her coaching business. I’m so disappointed because the value is no longer there. Highly recommend tuning into the beginning of the podcast though!

woodsfamilyfarmIt’s what I’ve been looking forCharlotte you are exactly what I’ve been looking for! I received your book just this past weekend from the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund. We signed up because of a neighbor problem we were having. Anyways, we have been struggling with finding our perfect customer. I immediately looked up your podcast when I received your book. We were feeling defeated and overwhelmed with meat building up in our freezer. I swear receiving your book in the mail was God saying, “see there is a reason for everything!” I can’t wait to check out more of your information. Thank you!!!!!

Scoobie.lisaCan't Get EnoughThank you, Charlotte! Trying to get on track to making good money with our farm and NOT working all the time!
-
LizziebabieWhere have you been all my farm life?!Thank you FTCLDF for steering me towards Charolette and her mindset podcast’s! Her ideas just resonate with me and the kind of farm business I want to run. I believe farmers should be profitable and not working 18+ hours days too, that’s just not sustainable.
-
thegramloverSo thankful!I am finally taking the leap and starting my own flower farming business next year. Couldn’t have started listening to this podcast at a better time! Start at the beginning if, like me, you are finding this podcast late. The first few episodes have really helped me know what I need to do to get started from a legal/business standpoint...can’t wait to listen to all the episodes! Thank you so much for offering us this wealth of information!!!

TheWertins!Experiential AdviceIf you are going to take advice from someone, that person ought to have actually had experience in the field. And in this case, Charlotte literally has experience in the field! Her podcasts are well organized, great to listen too, and had amazing advice. Keep up the good work Charlotte!

The Homestead FamilySooo helpful! We have spent the last 10 years learning how to grow food. There’s plenty of information out there for that but we were definitely needing to learn and focus on how to make this into a business and not just a hobby. Charlotte has been such a great resource for us. I’m so excited for what 2020 holds for our farm and look forward to gleaning more for her!

Raychel jamFrom hobby to profitabilityMy husband and I started a small chicken farm selling our fresh pastured eggs a little over a year ago. But it wasn’t until we found this podcast, less than a month ago, that our business became what we dreamed it to be. Sold out of eggs as soon as they are laid! Both of our mindsets have completely shifted and the podcast is the main reason for this! I’m positive that without Charlotte’s help, we would never have grown our business this quickly and with this much success. Thank you Charlotte for your invaluable information💕🐓🥚
-
clatter ridge farmIt’s for every farmerI started my farm 17 years ago and I wish I had Charlottes advice back then. I still learn so much every podcast- things that seem so obvious when she says them, never occurred to me. - and this is the second business I have started.Somethings just aren’t intuitive and you can easily find yourself getting sidetracked. Thank you Charlotte!

mrs@bffYou'll be better for listeningCharlotte has a LOT to share, but if I had to boil it down to one phrase, it'd be, "make it about them." That's what I carry around in my brain from Charlotte. Once we get our eyes off ourselves, it makes marketing easier, friendships are better, and even your marriage. I love Charlotte's ACTIVE teaching style. This is not some passive podcase where you get to listen and then go away. Nope. You will come away with a link to click, a page to print, a new way to think, a person to go talk to, some kind of assignment that will help cement that current teaching into your head. Are you serious about wanting your farm to improve? You need to listen to Profitable Mindset with Charlotte Smith.
-
Toadfrog4759Great insightsI really love your insights and the podcasts. One of the things I really like about your podcast is that your experiences are yours and the insights you have for your area. I do however think that people need to realize it’s a process and they may not be able to farm full time right away. Look at Greg Judy who had to work a town job before he was able to go full time.
-
BeeNiceSoapBreathe.....We have been working full time off-the-Farm jobs, parenting and running a farm with beef, dairy, turkeys, laying hens, meat birds and bees. I am EXHAUSTED!!! This podcast has opened my eyes that we are working harder but not smarter. Charlotte has had me take a breath, step back and evaluate our farm as a BUSINESS. Yes farming is a passion and a lifestyle, but if you are running so fast that your margins are an after thought, you are doing it wrong! Thank you thank you thank you for giving me a different perspective and showing us how to run the farm as a profitable business and not die from exhaustion. It is still a work in progress, but I am starting to feel like I am running the farm instead of the farm running me. THANK YOU CHARLOTTE ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
-
Navy wife mom x3Thank you for the gift of your experience!I am running a messy money sucking farm business that my husband’s full time job pays for. I am delighted that Charlotte started this podcast and I learning from her experience. I want this farm to succeed and be a heritage for my children. With Charlotte’s wisdom and teaching, I have faith that I will bring it into the black again.
-
Pete WidinThe BEST info for growing profitable farmsI mentor ecological farmers and consultants to grow their business, and also met Charlotte and her husband at the 2016 Holistic Mgmt International conference in California, where she gave a phenomenally practical talk on farm marketing, and selling healthy farm products at their true value to people who are ecstatic to have found your farm. Thank you Charlotte and team for the deeply transformational work you're offering to the farming community. It's a big part of how we're going to turn around the food system to empower farmers and the health of families in our country and the world.

KoofieThank you Charlotte!Charlotte has created a wonderful and useful podcast for new and beginning farmers. I love being able to listen while I do chores and then come back home and apply some of her advice right away. Beyond her podcast, her website offers so much free advice and opportunities for classes that it is one of just a few sites I recommend to other farmers just starting out. Thank you Charlotte for supporting and encouraging a new generation of farmers to replace those retiring!
-

Danmother#6- Value! What a great podcast today. I literally just read an old old sales blog about something very similar. Your podcast was like the heavens telling me to refocus! I work on a tiny grass fed grass finished beef farm that also produces pasture raised chickens and eggs. I can’t tell you the frustration (actually I suppose I can, lol) trying to explain costs. And the competition with terrible grocery store foods. I wish more people would ask questions and share their stories so we could get to their “value”. Perhaps you could share in another podcast about how to get them to ask questions and tell their stories so that we can get to their core? Thanks, and keep the information coming, we have got to band together to help save our farms and our fellow man from commoditized food production!

MdcddhhxdyConcise and helpfulCharlotte doesn’t waste any time with useless stories or rambling. She is concise and specific with advice and always offers ways to get more information on a subject. We are about to enter our third year farming and I’ll be using her information to help us as we do our first farmers market this summer.
-
raisinkidsReally useful information!Charlotte is wonderful at sharing practical tips to improve or start your farm business. Her advice is right on and she is so fun to listen to and has such an encouraging spirit. Every listener (newbie or veteran) will learn something helpful.

grandviewfarmPerfect podcastWe’ve been producing and direct marketing pasture raised provisions since 2012, so we can say with confidence that Charlotte’s information is gold. She is a very effective communicator and has a talent for taking seemingly complex marketing and business hurdles and breaking them down into appropriate actionable steps. We found ourselves nodding along as we listened to all five episodes, agreeing with her advice based on our own experiences. We also found ourselves taking notes as we learned about new resources and techniques that we hadn’t previously tried. We look forward to learning more from Charlotte through her podcast and other platforms. She provides you with everything but the hustle! Nick Bailey Grand View Farm Forest Hill, Maryland
