Great host & fascinating guests. Insightful discussions of hip hop, comedy, activism, and, occasionally, politics. Talib Kwahli is an excellent interviewer who asks great questions. The overall tone is smart and positive, with plenty of humor sprinkled in.

Well worth the price of admission
The interview with Havoc from Mobb Deep made me need to leave a review. Talib guides the conversation like only someone can who has the deepest knowledge, respect, and love for their guests. As a listener you don’t even need to be familiar with the guests to be inspired. Highly recommended for anyone who loves to learn about music.

    Unique access to unique people
Yo! Talib! Thank you for digging deep into the culture and history with these foundational figures of hip hop. Every podcast inspires me. Thanks to the individuals involved and the positive vibes. This will end up in a library some day. It’s hip hop history, straight from the horses’ mouths.

    Extraordinary
I love the interviews, the content, the guest, the vibe, everything. I would have given this 5 stars but there’s just 1 thing I don’t love and it’s the cohost. She throws the vibe or the conversation off a lot to me. Seriously this podcast is definitely in the top 5 for me. The research and effort put into interviews is beautiful.

Love the Show!!!! Interview Rick Glassman!!!!
You need this dude, he’s a podcast king, and his life story is amazing to boot! He has his own Podcast Take Your Shoes Off (TYSO) and has been on Tigerbelly, Bad Friends, Trash Tuesdays, and many other more… He knows Will Smith Ask about Magic the Gathering cards get him to rap then ask him about his autism…

    Awesome Podcast
The Monche interview is my favorite so far. I used to listen to it consistently but since it moved behind the pay wall I stopped. I would rather listen to commercials. Oh well

Need to upload the RZA interview
I don’t know if the recent uploads are just snippets but I wanna hear the whole thing. I like to drive and listen to these and I cant have youtube up while using the GPS. Help us out.

    What’s up?
The Tom Morello interview was only 5 min long? The interviews never used to be like this?
  • pomjjjvcc
Why are the episodes only 10 minutes long?
    Why?!

    Best in Hip Hop
This show has provided me more background and understanding of Hip Hop than any other source I’ve ever heard. The research done by Kweli and the team and the thoughtful questions makes this my favorite podcast.

Jasmin Leigh is doing her thing👍🏿👋🏿
Large up to Jasmin Leigh! Just saw the Bob Saget interview and she is featured more prominently in that episode. Keep up the great work sister👍🏿👋🏿. And Kweli is doing his thing with having dope guests🙏🏿

    This is cool now?
Everybody cool with Kweli whitewashing gang affiliation like it’s just a form of community uplift? Couldn’t listen to it, Kweli so fake in terms of the ethics he espouses and the silence he exhibits. SMDH.

    Listen to this podcast!
Talib is a great host, he has amazing guests, I can’t get enough of this podcast! So informal, it really gives you a great peek into the hip hop world and lessons about life! I feel like everyone should listen to this podcast, if you’re not, what are you doin?

too bad host only promotes black men
Love the premise of the show, just wish they had a different host. If you scroll through you’ll see talib focuses on black men. Given his problematic history with women, it’s a bummer he takes no effort to promote or rectify that with this new platform given he’s been banned from other platforms for his misogyny and harassment.

    Disappointed
So now we have to pay $4.99 for podcast now. I think not bruh. The show is awesome tho. But it’s not like drink champs or big facts.

This show is the best of its kind
If you love black people and black culture then this is FOR YOU!! I love Talib’s music and have been a fan since I was a teen (I’m in my 30’s now) and he may be even better at interviewing and podcasting than perhaps mcing (with respect)

A must listen for all hip-hop heads
The thing that sticks out the most for me listening to this pod is Kweli’s skill as an interviewer/conversationalist, which, I think, stems largely from his intellect and gracious demeanor as a host, as well as the breadth/depth of knowledge about hip-hop music and culture he naturally displays while in conversation with his guests (and Jasmin, who is smart, funny and charming in her own right), easily navigating all manner of topics and experiences discussed with his guests. What’s even more striking to me is how clear it is that Kweli’s knowledge of and respect for hip-hop music/culture is the byproduct of not just his own career as a successful and influential emcee, but also (perhaps to an even greater degree), a life spent as a genuine, hardcore fan/student of the music/culture. A life spent loving, living, breathing and immersing himself in all things hip-hop (as well as music and pop culture generally). Kweli is a presence and personality uniquely qualified to sit down with this incredible, diverse list of emcees/producers/entertainers to make good on the immense potential of this format to deliver thoughtful, revealing, organic conversations - which are a gift (and education) for any hip-hip head. 5 STARS!!!

    Excellent
Kweli and Jasmine Leigh are engaging, ask smart and intriguing questions at a good cadence, and offer different perspectives on topics. I learn so much from each episode about a variety of topics, not just hip hop. I recommend this podcast to all my friends.

Fantastic Podcast overall. Intelligent declarations, and interviews from a true Student of Aristotle. Master Kweli delivers real, in depth conversations, with unique, and interesting guests. The maturity he demonstrates when engaging those with a difference of opinion is especially refreshing. People’s Party continues to climb towards 5stars. Side note: Entertainment isn’t for everyone. JL is never funny, and easily one of the top 5 worst cohost’s of a best podcast.

    Grateful
Thanks so much for this awesome podcast and all of the talented guests who have real conversations about important issues related to history and current events. It’s great to hear Talib mark out for people who he is genuinely a fan of . Nothing pretentious or fake at his genuine love of the hip hop culture and all it encapsulates.

    Phenomenal
I’m more of a music head than someone who typically listens to podcasts. I’ll typically put on some music while I deliver the mail for the day on my route and that works for me. That is, until I found this podcast. It’s intelligent, thought-provoking, genuine, and highly enjoyable. I’m a fan.

    Always good!
The way that some of the most incredible artists of our time share so much with Talib really speaks to the legend that he, himself, is and the quality of his character. Click play on any episode. You can’t go wrong!

    ONE OF THE BEST
Been a fan of Talib since BlackStar. This is one of my favorite podcasts hands down. Thank you for all you do with this show, on Twitter and everywhere. You make a great impact and are helping make a change. And F bar stool sports 🤪

    Great Podcast
Talibs show is fire. It’s great for intelligent thoughtful people who are interested in cool music and culture. It’s the opposite of corny Barstool stuff for insecure bros who listen to garbage music and think they are funny but are really stupid.
  • spruce to the tree
    Hot Triddash
Kweli struggles to stay relevant inviting guests to his self righteous echo chamber to stroke his ego with closed minded, one sided, discussions that revolve primarily around race and memories of his mediocre rap career. Cohost has nothing of any substance to contribute to the show. Don't waste your time. Listen to X22.

    The Best Podcast
This podcast is highly intellectual with phenomenal guess that provide great insight on an array of topics. Talib is a master researcher and gets the guess to go deeper into their lives.

    Crucial Content
Talib is an amazing interviewer, brilliant, versatile, unapologetically hip-hop and he knows EVERYONE. Jasmin brings great balance, and she is a excellent representative for the fan perspective 10/ 3/ 2020 In response to the Reggie Hudlin interview, 3 things 95% of Black people agree on; 1. Eddie Murphy 2. Disneyland 3. Fried Chicken
