Kale ChurchillThe best hunting show out thereThis show is the most forward (yet backward) thinking hunting show out there, presenting the most well rounded approach to being a human that is possible in the 21st century. Being from western Maine myself, I really appreciate hearing information from locals about local ecological information, but Daniel also does a good job covering many different geographical areas while also making it all relevant. I particularly love the episodes with Arthur Haines, and enjoy the level of knowledge the two bring to the table; they have wonderful chemistry and sometimes it’s very serious and sometimes really funny. Very inspiring for me and plan on taking as much knowledge as possible from it back with me into the Maine woods!

RichardsonautRe-memebring Life on EarthI love this show so much. Daniel brings such a wonderful variety of guests on the show which makes each episode dynamic and educational. I have learned so much as a student of the Wild fed podcast! I stand behind his mission to bring humanity back to our wild!

Ashraf HaddenWhere Permaculture and Hunting MeetAre you a permaculture enthusiast? Listen to this show and realize that “food is all around you”. Not your average hunting podcast. Hunting is a critical tool in self-reliance and foraging your own food. Learn to hunt, fish, forage, and farm. It’s how our ancestors lived for thousands of years and yet in the United States of North Amnesia we seemed to have forgotten our most vital skills for our very survival. All you Permies out there, don’t forget that our food forests and orchards are also function stacking as wild game land. Instead of trying to go to where the game is, bring the game to you and plant the favorite foods of animals you like to eat.

Great Plain HumanMy Favorite PodcastThis podcast is an excellent choice for someone who loves the outdoors and learning, specifically related to wild food. What amazes me is how, despite being based in Maine, the content of the podcast regularly applies to me here in NW Kansas. Keep up the great work!

emmanuitA million stars. 🏹If I had to create a panel of twelve people to save the world I’d put Daniel on it. I’d throw Avani on there too even though I only heard her speak once. (More please:) Don’t be fooled by the subject of the show- hunting. I’m not interested in hunting yet I still find this the most fascinating podcast. If you don’t want to destroy the planet- start here.

rox11492Excellent outdoors showDaniel Vitalis does a fantastic job of bringing together brilliant people of all backgrounds to talk about all things outdoors on this show. His passion for foraging, hunting, and fishing is contagious. I am a biologist by trade, and an outdoor enthusiast at heart, and despite how much of my life has been spent outside, I always am learning when I listen to his show.

BishturtleRefreshingIt is great to listen to a podcast that doesn’t have to be dramatic to get your attention. Just pure discussion about a great topic, our interactions with nature. Keep up the great work! I look forward to it each week! Rob

5fjud89Now, I feel every tick!Daniel does such an awesome job researching, always thinking of the listener when recording, and keeping himself, his guest, and his listeners engaged. I have learned so much from listening to this that I feel like new worlds have opened up for me! And it’s only the beginning. If you’d like to start building a more credible relationship with the unique biodiversity that surrounds you, and things like hunting, fishing, foraging, good food or even food science/nutrition theory spark your interest, give this podcast a try. Daniel is so well-rounded in his views that you’ll feel like he’s talking to you directly at times, and is a wonderful teacher/communicator. At the same time, he is so open to learning, leveling and really trying to understand the words of those that come onto his show. I came here mostly to learn more about foraging for plants but I now see my relationship to the planet deepening thanks to this podcast. One episode about a man’s Sacred Hunt gave me the chills, and honestly, another episode featuring the wisdom of Sam Thayer made me cry. And the episode with Daniel’s lovely wife Avani was one packed with meat and potatoes for me—because I took their phrase and advice to heart! As an outdoor enthusiast of many years I’ve still battled a strange fear of ticks, but that didn’t seem to be a problem for me yesterday when I found two on my back after a jaunt in the woods and picked them off calmly and almost instinctively. “May you feel every tick” will be a thing I say to myself and my loved ones forever now! Thank you to Daniel and your team for making this podcast so fun to listen to, and making useful knowledge so accessible!
-
UltragardenerA favorite podcastAlthough I neither fish, nor hunt, this remains one of my favorite podcasts because of the deep respect Daniel and his team show for nature, the intelligent conversations they have on a broad range of subjects, and the humor and humility they bring to each episode.

mnhunterthirstyforgoidinfoWhy meat is good for usListening to the above episode was bizarre. The host and guest piggy backed on each other about being “silenced” on social media even though they both have very popular podcasts and IG accounts, they ripped on medical doctors as a whole while offering treatments medics doctors recommend, the host reflected on abandoning his Marxist ideals. Really came here for to expand on knowledge related to hunting, fishing, gathering and was left thinking I had just been in a Facebook group news feed for 2 hours.

vermont thanks youVermont thanks youGreat info, well orchestrated conversations that help give me hope in a challenging time for humans to feel grounded. Thank you Daniel.

Adam PinkVery fun and informationalThere is a ton of information in every episode. Very detailed information, but presented in a way a novice could understand easily.

GonshioInformative and entertainingDaniel is a well-rounded, intelligent, eloquent professional who provides insight and excitement while discussing age-old material. Additionally, he makes it relevant and seriously engaging. I find myself eagerly awaiting the newest release. In fact, I am so sad when I hear the music indicating the sponsor is going to be speaking since I know we are nearing the halfway point. I also feel that way when he asks his guests wear his listeners can find them. I almost never want the podcast to end. Thank you!

happyandhopefulWhat Our World Is MissingWildFed is AMAZING! Daniel is a hero of mine. Stop watching/listening to useless garbage. Tune in here, grow yourself, change the world.

Alleychris88Eye openerFrom when I heard Daniel on big woods bucks podcast I started binge listening to all of the wild fed episodes and it really peaked my interest in the foraging. And boy I have been missing out all these years overlooking mushrooms and plants that are edible that I really enjoy eating now. Thank you for a very eye opening podcast.

Mr Paul WeezyInspiring!I look forward to a new episode every week. Important topics and awesome guests. I’ve never hunted but I’ve always wanted to. My desire to hunt and connect to the landscape goes so deep that it’s hard to put into words. Daniel does a great job of explaining that. This podcast is truly inspiring and every human can relate in one way or another.
-
Michael StookeyI love this podcastThis is quickly becoming one of my favorite outdoors podcasts. Vitalis is a thoughtful and nuanced guy, and he talks about hunting in a way that we all can and should get behind

jskaulA true teacherI have listened to Daniel since the Rewild Yourself days. That podcast was so important to my journey, and honestly, my survival on this planet. It helped me find something real to connect to and learn from. I was so excited when this podcast came out, because I feel like it is Daniel deep diving into his true passion. It has been a pleasure to listen to, and it has continued to help me get out into the world around me. Thank you!

BanzoloverdeCan’t figure out how to watch your showI don’t have cable tv - seems like the only way to watch Wildfed is through the outdoor channel through a cable provider…. Please instruct. Would love to watch some of your video work without signing up for a cable package for a tv I don’t own
-

C.J. Alves👍🏽Great show for anyone that is interested in producing their own food via hunting, fishing, foraging, gardening etc. Was turned onto it via the Big woods bucks podcast and slowly chipping away at all of these 👍🏽

JimK0311My new favoriteI actually found you and your podcast in an interesting way. I came across your Wild-Fed show airing on the Outdoor channel and I am hooked. I found your website and podcast afterwords, and really enjoy it. Both your video show and podcast are both entertaining and informative. Surely both beginners and more experienced hunter-gatherers can learn a lot from you. I find myself really intrigued by your interviews and topics, on things I didn’t know that I wanted to know. (If that makes sense). Thank you for what you do and I look forward to watching and listening!

jk1212Mandatory listening for conservationists, hunters, gatherers, and anyone with an interest in nature.this is the perspective the conservation movement needs. education, understanding, participation are all key to seeing ourselves as a part of the natural community and ultimately are critical to protecting the environment. this podcast hits it all. thank you Daniel.
-
ApojakeBest podcast in my feedI've been listening to Daniel since I was around 14 years old. The word that comes to mind when thinking of Daniels personality, as well as the guests and topics he covers on the show, is balanced. There's something for everyone here. And the open-mindedness in the show is contagious. Thanks for everything D.

COmarshratWow! I really like this podcast and the show but....The January 16th episode with Donnie Vincent is exceptional. I am in my late 50’s, have hunted since I was a young kid. I was a wildlife biologist in Michigan for ten years before I had to get other work to make more money so my wife could stay home with our kids. I met hundreds of ‘bubba’ hunters and huntresses during that time, and I was always bothered by the contradictory and polar attitudes of ‘hunter/conservationist’ and the seemingly almost hatred of the animals they pursue (i.e. ‘sky carp’, ‘just a doe’, stinky ole bear, etc.). Donnie Vincent’s (and Daniel’s as expressed on the show) attitude toward wildlife and the utilization of wildlife and wild things as food is so refreshing and important for others to hear - hunters and non hunters alike. Well Done!!!
-
Amphibious NomadAn truly thought provoking podcastDaniel consistently asks thought provoking questions and engages with guests on a level few other interviewers match. Yes. It has a wild food focus but it goes well beyond that.

pocholidayDaniel’s calling is just what the doctor told orderedI found Daniel from a Luke Storey podcast and he resonated with me because of his message and his purpose. If you’re like me and want to take a more holistic approach to your health, Vitalis will help get you there. If you’re re an avid hunter and would like to hear some outstanding perspective from an expert on hunting and especially hunting things that aren’t common, Daniel is definitely the guy to listen to. His podcasts are fluid, no dryness to them at all, and you can really hear his love for what he’s doing in each episode. I’m enjoying his show and I’m sure you will too. For 2020 in review, I’m convinced that this is the time for people to wake up and reconnect with themselves and the Earth. I follow a myriad of teachers advocating this reconnection from Luke Storey and Paul Chek to Ben Greenfield and Aubrey Marcus. If you’re into stuff like that, this is a must follow show. Daniel offers this awakening knowledge from a hunter perspective which I think is critical for any person that truly wants to, as he says, “re-wild themselves”.

Julie-Your Expert GuestOur connection with the natural world! This show is so well-rounded with great topics about the interconnected ecosystem of our planet. Loved the episode with the Salmon Sisters!

Lex RuleLove the outdoors and nature? Must sub.I love this podcast and rewild podcast. Being a primitive skills instructor I can’t get enough of this show. Someone needs to do this for the Rockies!
-
CaseyMath.Fulfilling and worthwhileAs soon as I discovered this podcastI was hooked. There are so many aspects that resonate with me; the humor, the research, the anthropology, the biology, the overall breadth. I imagine that anyone who has even the smallest desire to understand more about themselves and the world they live in would find a lot of value in this show. Keep up the great work Daniel and company! I really love the show.

davidofthewoodsTop NotchThank you, Daniel (and team), for continuing to share incredible content. Everything you put out is absolute quality. You’ve been a huge inspiration to me on my path towards self-sustainability and I’m truly grateful. The importance of wild water and food has really been instilled in me thanks to you. I’m an organic farmer/homesteader who is now blending in mushroom/ plant foraging and learning how best to tend the wild on our property in VT. Thanks again, Daniel, for all the amazing work you’ve done and shared, for all the information you’ve put out. It has been a huge help to so many people and we can’t thank you enough!

MarjorieFarmExactly what I needAlmost every time I turn on WildFed, I think to myself "Wow, this is exactly what I need to hear in my life right now." It's uncanny. Most recently, the episodes on "Birth, Death & The Ethics of Killing;" "Way of the Woodsman;" and "Walking The Plant Medicine Path" made me feel understood, gave me hope, and inspired me to do even more with hunting / foraging / wildcrafted medicine. I find myself wanting to force the rest of my family to listen to these—"Look! These explain me!" On a recent episode, Daniel, you mentioned that you read every single one of these reviews. Well, I hope that's true because I want you to know that you are making a difference in my life. And from the sounds of these other reviews—a difference in the world, too. Keep it up man. I also live in Maine, and hope we get the chance to connect in real life someday.

Poccfroglove4evrTeaching us how to connect with our environmentI so admire Daniel’s deep work and his ability to gain a conscious understanding of the connectedness in ecosystems. Daniel has been teaching to honor how we treat our bodies for a long time and he really invests his being into learning and then sharing it with us. I love the thoughtful guests who are living what they teach, especially Arthur. Can’t wait for the episodes to come and to see the show as well. Every episode has something I can apply in my quest to live closer to the land Isabel @supersizedwellness

Making the best of it allTime well spentI found Daniel over 8 years ago. I’ve listened to every rewild yourself podcast, bought the wild fed series and have nearly caught up with all the wild fed podcasts. I’m an unlikely fan. City living, female. I’ve always wanted to get out into the green, but it felt empty. Like, “now what”. Daniel gave me an action step to connect with the wild in a deeper, more satisfying way. I value his wisdom and calm, now more than ever. I’m grateful for the work he and his team have committed to making the wild more accessible for the curious.
-
Caid ViramontesIncredible podcastThis podcast has been a breath of fresh air from all the other “self-help”/personal development podcasts that don’t actually give you practical tips and how-to’s. Daniel is an incredible conversationalist and makes seemingly insignificant topics extremely fascinating.

Brice the RedFor people with a brainWhat I love so much about this podcast is something that I find to be often unique: people who enjoy hunting but care about conservation and their environment. Growing up as a person who hunted, I was often surrounded by people who enjoyed it more for killing than the effort and eating. Hunting connected me to the outdoors, it gave me a great appreciation for the animals and their environment, it put me in touch with family and friends, and showed me what it was like to truly work for food. As I’ve grown older I’ve hunted last but I continue to appreciate those who do it with an ethicality and a care for our planet. Daniel’s podcast and the many things that he’s been a part of all demonstrate his deep connection to food, to the planet, and to the creatures and people that inhabit it. It’s a breath of fresh air and a podcast that I am so grateful to have found!
