wms3487Not really a podcast anymore…This show while it lasted was great. But let’s be real: it no longer exists. Yet I hear Kristen all the time on other podcasts using this as part of her byline. Don’t recommend a dead product. It just reminds me how you had a great concept and threw it away after barely a year.

JaidaMNAn Antidote for the TimesLove this podcast. The advice is creative and sound and Kristin’s cackle laugh gives me life. Even though I have next to no time for watching movies, listening to these recommendations makes me feel more connected to movie culture and history. Plus it’s gratifying to think of someone watching movies as their job!

SusanFromTheStatesbest calming podcastgreat interaction between hosts, no yelling involved

kplmjlmvBeautifulThis episode is my favorite. So much love.
-
KimmieBleezSuch a good little podcast! This podcast not only gets me through my shift at work, but also gives me something to look forward to afterwards. Not only do I have a list of movies and tv shows to choose from, but I also keep a tally and take a drink every time Rafer says “good little movie.”
-
Sfig1I’m addicted!Any movie fan will love this show! I listen and often watch the recommendations. Great way to learn about different shows and movies.

Gordon Shumway BrownSo Much Fun!This is my new favorite podcast to listen to when I want to de-stress and think about great movies. I always find myself grinning ear-to-ear when listening to Kristen & Rafer's kind, thoughtful recommendations. It's so much fun thinking of what movies I'd recommend! I only wish they would introduce us to (just a few!) more foreign and lesser-known movies. "The Stuff" was so great! Thank you, Kristin and Rafer!

EmilyStone200👍👍Thanks, Rafer and Kristen!

gibalittlebitToo many diversionsLove the concept, but the interaction is sometimes cringey and Rafer’s aimless soliloquies are a turn-off for me.
-
Ms. MehariIt’s like listening to friendsI love everything about this podcast. It’s so easy to listen to and the advice is really good, as are the movie and show recommendations. Kristen and Rafer are generous in their way of thinking and are so spot on with recommendations. Perfect listen if you’re looking for something easy and stress-free.
-
sunplusnightYES.Kristen and Rafer have taught me that there is a purpose for everything I’ve ever watched—whether it’s to teach me a main character teaching a valuable lesson, a tertiary character modeling a near-unnoticed behavior, or maybe the movie is really good for just putting you to sleep when you really need that. They give me lots of perspective, laughter and levity. And it’s always nice to have a weekly reminder to know there are kind, smart, thoughtful folks out there, right?

Charlotte LizIt’s so goodThis is like the grilled cheese of podcasts, it’s always what I want, it’s always good and I can’t imagine anyone not liking it.

Adore EnglandLaineDitto to Danica ‘79, what a great letter, conveys what most of us feel about the show! And, like you I think it’s our Wonder Years Mathematician...what phenomenal books that girl has written! Perfect for students & adults...

BecAS369Honestly Fun AdviceRafer and Kristen are a great duo! They may not be therapists but listening to them is therapeutic. I have found many fun movies and tv shows to entertain me and lighten heavy times.
-
ALA0102I love this showand I’m a therapist. Their advice is good and I have not heard anything that makes me cringe or gasp in horror. I love hearing about their viewing choices for each situation. They are thoughtful and at times surprising.

Happy in New HampshirePrescription: listen immediately and you’ll feel betterI absolutely adore this podcast. It’s smart, funny, and helps me decide on good content to consume in a world full of too many options for bad entertainment! The hosts are excellent and really know a wide range of wonderful TV and movie recommendations. The show helps highlight real struggles that you can commiserate with or be shocked by :), and the “what should I watch next” segment is truly something we can all relate to. This podcast is a wonderful discovery that I look forward to every week.
-
fanny dashwoodMy new favorite podI was listening to another podcast where Kristin was a guest and decided to give this one a try…and I have no regrets. I really love everything about this podcast - the theme song, the advice and of course the movie/tv recommendations. I’m now going back to listen to old episodes.
-
runningjudy45Very entertainingKristen and Rafer go very well together. If this show had a patreon, I would happily go with it. Thanks so much you guys for doing this show.
-
DOPTGLaugh out loud funny and clever!I really love this podcast! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is they sometimes tell TOO much of a plot and give away surprises. These 2 have given me an entire list of shows and movies I’ve never head of, and can’t wait to watch.
-
thatmoviegirlFunnyKristen and Rafer, although they always clarify that they are not actually certified therapists, do have quite a bit of valuable wisdom to share as well as just general solid, good life advice. Their banter and friendship is a joy to listen to, and their amazing senses of humor keep me laughing, while their sincere care for their listeners and excellent suggestions keeps me coming back. Truly a joy to listen to – Kristen and Rafer make my week a little brighter each episode.
-
Counter crazyUpliftingI stumbled upon this podcast and I’m glad I did. The hosts have just the right amount of humor, banter and great suggestions. The movies and TV they have introduced me to have entertained and enlightened me.

Mimi to 8 grandchildrenI love movie therapyI love listening to Movie Therapy with Rafer and Kristen. I listen to it while I’m going for a walk or driving in my car. I take notes of all the movies and TV shows that they recommend and love it when I hear them talk about one of my favorite movies. The advice they give is right on the mark!
-
enamored with this showLifeline in the pandemic and beyondI listen to Kristen’s other podcast “By the Book” cohosting with Jolenta, which I love. but Movie Therapy gives me something else that has been the perfect mixture of fun and healing in the lonely times of a pandemic. I moved to NYC not knowing anyone just a few months before the pandemic hit. This show has been so fun to listen to as I relate to other people problems and also expanded my knowledge and taste in movies and TV shows - thanks to Kristen and Rafer! I have recommended to my friends but feel eager to write a review to show my support! PS: Kristen I would love to be your mentee. You’re just so inspiring and I day dream about having afternoon tea with you and talk about life. (!!!)

toledoleftyA Delight!I’ve been binging this podcast and my Watchlist is bursting at the seams! Rafer and Kristen havesuch a great rapport, and it’s especially fun when they disagree on advice or on movies. I had fallen into a viewing rut, and I’m so happy to have some new films to be excited about. Thanks to both hosts for making such a great show!

Mikey Tee 18Cinema SurfingListening to your podcast has become a favorite weekend activity. I so appreciate it and what it is does for me. It’s important for me to share that appreciation with you. I’ve also shared it with others, encouraging them to listen to your podcast as well. Movies and theater are both my thing. Plus, I’m a mental health educator. Your podcast is a perfect blend for me. The positive connection that the two of you have for each other, spills over into the listening audience. Am I a fan of every movie you recommend? No. However, I am a fan of every conversation to which I have so far listened. I look forward to listening further, and then continuing the conversation with friends who have also picked up your podcast.

Podcast fan 12345Kristen fan hereI have been a fan of Kristen Meinzer from by the book and we love you (and so can you). It is fun to see her dynamic with Rafer and how that is different than her dynamic with Jolenta on the other two podcasts. It is just right the level of lightness that I have been needing over the past year. I have a running list of their recommendations that sounded good to me and may or may not ever get to them, but following all of the recs is not really the point. It’s just fun listening.
-
B. HaahrLove this show! And I love the new logo, too!
-
PortieownerJust what we need!I love this show - light and funny! The film recommendations are fun and diverse. I like the simple advice too. Perfect for current times!

TASR gamerMac and Cheese for the SoulThis podcast is my comfort food. Rafer and Kristin are both such kind and thoughtful people who give great advice and even better movie recommendations. No better antidote to the year we’ve been through then their soothing voices making me smile and giving me something awesome to watch. Never stop!
-
Erin PedalsKristen and Rafer give heartfelt adviceKristen and Rafer give the kindest, most empathetic advice. And they pair it with a movie! Love this podcast. Definitely one of my all time favs!

LovelebouefMaking me recommendations so I don’t have to wast time mindlessly scrolling NetflixAs a working mom with a 1 and 3 year old, the hours between 7-9PM are sacred. Thank you for recommending excellent movies, so I don’t have to waste time or brain cells picking them myself. In addition the advice is rock solid, candid and full of empathy. The hosts are gems, and I could listen to them converse all day! I look forward to this every week! Thank you!
-
asdhjlvcfyuhNo such thing...Rafer: when it comes to mental health, there is no such thing as “overreacting”. Thank you for recommending that the college student seek help ASAP. Thanks for your excellent podcast. By the way - how could you NOT have recommended “Animal House”???
-
Gretel ELOVE IT SO MUCHTHANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CREATING THIS DURING THESE DARK TIMES! It's been so amazing to listen to others going through the same thing. I don't normally write reviews, but I LOVE your podcast. Thank you so much for helping us all feel a little better this year.
-
TamiHackbarthSo many things to love...Advice column letters + tv/movie recommendations = so much to love. Love this show because I am often reminded of shows and movies I already love and have been watching a lot of what Kristen and Rafer recommend and love those too. Thank you for the levity!
-
lexingtonelysrLove it so muchMy new favorite podcast! I love Rafer and Kristen and their movie and tv recs. This podcast makes me so happy and is the perfect thing for my mood right now. I’m so happy to have the whole backlist of episodes to listen to!!!!!
-
fanfromphillyFound you guys againMy husband and I were long time listeners of Movie Date and we were very disappointed when that podcast ended. I was so excited to hear you on PCHH and find out that you have a new podcast. I think this is even better than Movie Date. We listen every week to your new episode and I am working my way through the old episodes, up to July at this point. Yours is by far the best movie/tv podcast out there.
-
rexeccaThanks PCHH!I started listening after Rafer and Kristen were on an episode of Pop Culture Happy Hour and have been bingeing it ever since. It is the perfect antidote for the grim news podcasts that usually fill my playlist.
-
dmcromGreat Advice on Life and Movies!I found this gem through Kristen’s other podcast BTB. Rafer and Kristen have great chemistry and play off the other so well. Their life advice is just as wonderful as their movie advice. And it has been so much fun listening to each of their reviews of some of my favorite movies (I can’t believe Kristen isn’t a fan of The Big Chill!). A definite add to my weekly podcast library!
-
Martha SpongKind and cleverI’m so glad to have found Movie Therapy. Rafer and Kristen bring an encyclopedic knowledge of movies into conversation with care for people experiencing the vicissitudes of life. I appreciate the creativity and cleverness of the connections they draw and their kind and supportive words for listeners.

danika79Fri YAY PodcastI am always so excited when this podcast shows up in my feed on Fridays. Kristin and Raffer share a variety of letters that often feel relatable. Their movie suggestions are so diverse too; reminding me of old favorites or those to be watched I haven’t gotten around to yet, as well as introducing me to great movies and the shows I’ve never heard of! The mix of advice and pop culture recommendations has been a bright spot for me every week.
-
B'more JulieCheck it out! Exactly what you need to survive COVID-19I have been listening to Movie Therapy with Rafer and Kristen religiously since the quarantine started last year. I wake up every Friday excited to listen to the next episode. This podcast has been a bright spot during a very challenging 2020 and 2021. Thank you, Kristen and Rafer, for sharing your empathy, compassion, friendship, rock solid advice, and fantastic movie and TV recommendations with us. You make me smile, laugh, and hopeful every Friday! 💗

Jim SalberBless this mess infoAired on ABC network for two seasons. Now cancelled. I think Hulu is running series episodes on it’s website. Love your show.

Dynamite BlueFrom a real life therapist to the movie therapistsI looooove this podcast! It is such a delight! As a person who listens to people’s problems for a living, I tend to avoid advice shows, but loved Kristen from her other podcast, By the Book, so thought I’d give it a try and am so glad I did! Kristen and Rafer are so fun to listen to and I have begun to look forward to new episodes each week.
-
SparrowhawksPupilBright spot in my daySo much fun! I love movies and tv and I think Kristen and Rafer give great recommendations!

Oklahoma ArtistThe podcast we all need right nowLove these two and appreciate the broad range of movies and shows they suggest.
-
Magpie97531Truly delightfulI’ve been binging this show as I do all sorts of chores to set up my new home. I love both Rafer and Kristen and love hearing their different recommendations. I also love to “play along”, thinking about what movie or TV show I would recommend to the various folks seeking recommendations. Proud that I nailed “The Paper Chase” reco! ;-)
-
TreeTroubleMy favorite movie dateI love this podcast! Kristen and Rafer have great rapport and even better taste in movies and television. On top of that, they give excellent advice (though they'll tell you it's only "questionable"). I love the mix of high-brow and low-brow recommendations and I especially love when the hosts disagree about a movie prescription. Listening to the show always brightens my day and makes my commute a total pleasure.

Sarah 🏖So Good I’d Risk My AirPodsI knew I had to write a review when I took a bubble bath and left my AirPods in so I could continue listening to this show. I am usually so much more cautious with my tech! But I wanted to keep listening to this great, light-hearted podcast with two amiable hosts that make great movie and TV recommendations based off a challenge listeners write to them about. The recommendations are usually more approachable as opposed to art house, although when an art house recommendation is made it always sounds fantastic. My streaming watchlists have grown so much by listening to this podcast. Hope this show lasts for years and years to come!
-
Mxsandy12A refreshing and fun movie/advice pod! What a unique way to do a movie podcast. Write in letters from fans and they solve problems using the glorious medium of film! Great banter, hilarious picks and a light hearted pod that I’ll enjoy forever!
-
KristenluvBest part of my week!I check for the new podcast all day on Thursday until it is available I look forward to it so much! This is like a modern dear Abby with the fabulous spin of also offering TV shows or movies t watch to reflect on the topic! I appreciate the smooth easy to listen to voices and cadence of these hosts! They are pros and they know their stuff!
