The Tarot Diagnosis

39

Hey there! I'm Shannon - a licensed psychotherapist in private practice who also happens to love tarot. Each episode I work to demystify tarot and explore its connections to mental and emotional health while implementing its inherently helpful tools to better understand ourselves and those around us. Join me as I unravel common struggles related to our behavior, thought patterns, emotions, and relationships while pulling cards to facilitate growth and to help create the life and relationships we all desire.

They’re Racist about Hot Girl Summer
Putting down other women of color who wrote a song about confidence, body positivity and sexuality is sexist and racist. Jealousy is a disease.

And I like it! Heard Shanon’s interview with Moon Beaming and followed up listening to a few episodes. I really appreciate the insightful sharing!

    Love podcast but one request!
I think the insights and knowledge she shares is phenomenal, as someone semi new to tarot who’s still in their first year of exploration in of the craft I adore this podcast. If I could add one critique or note I wish she would put links to the different decks her & her guests use or discuss (if those decks are still available) because I’d love to expand my deck collection, especially with non traditional smith Waite decks. 🩵

    Mental Health and Healing
So much insight and vulnerability packed into one podcast. What I love about it is that I think I know tarot pretty well and I wish I had pursued a psychology degree, but Shannon either finds new ground or expands my awareness. Like today, she opened up the Justice card that I too struggle with. And then she reiterated what cognitive dissonance means and it hit me like a lightning bolt that the tension of my current situation is grinding me down, not my inability to flourish or even cope. Speaking of not just coping but flourishing, that is exactly what this podcast has done since Shannon became the sole host. It has always been such a rich, thoughtful, fun podcast and I admire how Shannon didn’t lose that thread. She just wove it into a new iteration that has been inspiring to see. It was a make or break moment and she made it. I have gotten so much healing from this podcast and it’s criminal that I haven’t written a review before today. Hope I’m not running into a word limit ;D

    Farewell episode
I truly believe that when we have a Tower moment we need time to recenter and find our new direction. You’re going to be so amazed at the creativity that is waiting within you and will now flow into the program. Gratitude for what was, time for grieving will help you heal and alchemize pain into medicine.

    My favorite podcast ever
A year ago, Shannon and Luna inspired me to pick up my tarot cards again and integrate them into my mental health practice. Now I use their insights in conjunction with talk therapy to explore my subconscious feelings, desires, and motivations. I’ve read a lot of tarot books, but this podcast (and their paid symposium membership) have taught me more than I’ve learned in the 18 years since I picked up my first tarot deck. I love their voices and their chemistry and I cannot recommend TDD enough.

    Perfect combo!
This is such a great podcast - not only does it combine my appreciation for tarot, but it gives me an extra way to reflect on my own therapy sessions - it absolutely doesn’t replace, but it inspires me to think of my healing patterns and how to address. I’m very grateful that Shannon & Luna (and their awesome voices) share their insight and wisdom in such a gentle way. I’m not familiar with all cards, and finding out more about them AND ways to weave them into my life + my own therapy has been a gift in itself. I also find myself listening to past episodes to continue to grow and reflect. Much gratitude to the hosts for sharing their time & talent!!

Hard to listen to vocal affectations
Shannon’s vocal fry affectation is very annoying. I feel like the two are insightful and fun, but The voice gets in the way.

    Blowing my mind
This show is a goldmine. Shannon and Luna take what made me curious about tarot as a tool of exploration and put it on steroids. It just get richer all the time. Thank you for your insights.

    Enchantedly encouraging
I really love the themes and outlook that their episodes bring up. They bring up great conversations and different ways of thinking to have toward every day life with a lot of spirituality. I personally lack that spirituality (maybe even desire for it) and this podcast has really brought that positively into my life while also being helpful on mental health. This podcast has really been uplifting and knowledgeable. The way Shannon and Luna bounce ideas off of each other even if different opinions is like hanging out with two healthy and caring friends. It’s a breath of fresh air compared to the daily mundane small talk. It’s encourages you to check in with yourself and even others healthily. There’s tons of moments where I pause the episode and have to quickly text my significant other to include into their conversation. In which then, we bounce even more opinions and examples to the episode subjects. Absolutely wonderful and I’m excited for more to follow!

    Absolutely brilliant!
These ladies do an amazing job combining tarot with psychotherapy! They have a keen skill that enables them to see more than just what the tarot cards tell them, but also deeper and more meaningful perspectives from their experience in the therapy world. I have been able to relate in someway to every single episode thus far, taking from it a powerful message that is so... deep, however, Episode 9 speaks volumes to me. Every.single.word. If I didn’t know any better, I’d be convinced they did an entire podcast on my life.

    Very interesting content!
I’ve always had a bit of a distant interest in tarot, never quite sure how to get into it. This podcast presents a wonderful way to interpret and think about the interactions between the cards and familiar situations that we may all experience. I can’t wait to hear more!
