    Awesome
This podcast is such a value add. Not only is it entertaining and illuminating itself, but it gives a reason to dive back into a re-read of the source material. I thought I read every Excalibur back in the day, but quickly I see that I missed issues along the way. Not this time!

Great companion to reading the series
Anna’s great appearance on Cerebro motivated me to finally read Excalibur and listen to Oh Gosh, Oh Golly, Oh Wow. And now I’m wondering what took me so long. Excalibur is wonderful. And I love academic fan approach of the podcast. Thanks, team!

    Great content
In the 90s, I was the girl who went to the comic store and bought nothing but Excalibur. It’s great to hear these academics analyze it in detail! Just wish I could actually always hear it—the varying audio levels from the different hosts and guests mean I often have trouble making things out.

I look forward to it every week
Why did I wait so long to start listening? This has quickly become one of my favorite comics podcasts. The discussions are so thought provoking while still being very funny. Consistently great guests, too!

    Great podcast with outstanding analysis!
The opportunity to listen to three academics discuss comics has been a masterclass, as they delve deep into the themes and craft of this obscure, but interesting work.

    Do it! Draw the sword!!
I read Excalibur as it came out, so hearing the three hosts and guests break it down is amazingly enlightening, informative and entertaining.

My favorite podcast about my favorite series!
Excalibur, the comic that introduced me to my favorite character of all time, Kitty / Kate Pryde and trusted companion, Lockheed! Ever since I found out my favorite comic series had a podcast taking the heroes’ journey through the entire series, I was hooked! Drs. Anna, Mav, and Andrew are the perfect hosts for such a journey and each new episode is my favorite.

If you like this, you LOVE this
There is a certain demographic, of which I am a member, that has been waiting for this podcast over 30 years. Academic and playful, it explains the unexpected obsession that some folks developed for a very strange, surprisingly deep, and bizarrely sexy corner of the X-men universe.

    Finally Sorting It All Out!
I was in the 2nd grade when X-Men TAS premiered on Fox and immediately jumped into the comics. At this time I wanted the action, adventure and drama I was watching on the show and for the most part got that from the X-Men and Uncanny X-Men titles. I picked up The Sword is Drawn and after reading it I felt lost and am now realizing I was just too young to really understand that this book was doing more than the more popular titles. From that point on I read the crossover issues of Excalibur but never really had the interest or felt like I could just jump in. After just a couple episodes of this podcast I realized that this is a book you needed to go back to start from and really pour over each page, not get too hung up on confusing points and just have fun with the ride! I’m excited to see where this title goes and to have a podcast to help unpack it all!

A must listen for obsessed Excalibur, X-men, and Christ Claremont and Alan Davis fans
I love this deep dive on the X-men’s spin off that desperately needs to be broken down and elaborated on. I love the call outs on the characters and this reminds me how much I neglected Excalibur growing up. They really highlight what a gem this was.

    Spin-off of the X-Men or SeX-Men?
My favorite new podcast! Long time comic fans who are now comic scholars do an excellent job discussing all the sexual undertones of the X-Men spin-off Excalibur (original series... at least so far). Hosts are knowledgeable and have great chemistry. Whether you’ve never read Excalibur before (like me) or you’re a long time fan (like the hosts), give this podcast a listen! You’ll never look at Nightcrawler the same again ;)
