Greg White LASolid advice for performanceLots of great performance advice here. I might add a caveat that the focus isn’t health per se as much as performance but if you know that going in it’s great for your racing qiestions
-
stmbtrunnergrlA must-listen for every runner!I love Meaghann’s thoughtfulness in each episode, how thorough she dives into popular (& obscure) nutritional running topics, and I always learn something new every episode!
-
VArunsVAWish I’d Found This Sooner!I recently learned about Believe in the Run after hearing them mentioned on the Ali on the Run show, and that led me to this podcast. I’ve been dying for more content on running and nutrition, and this podcast is everything I’ve been looking for and more. I love how it’s not only informative, but also approachable and just generally fun to listen to. I wish I had found it sooner, but at least now I have plenty of old content to listen to!
-
DCJaxVAA free training coach?!I’ve listened to this pod for years and it amazes me how much incredible information they provide in a free podcast. I took all I’ve ever learned from them and did my first ever marathon training (I’ve been running for 20+ years!) and I could not believe what a difference my nutrition and hydration made in this training. I would run 20 miles and then be out and about my day in the dead heat of summer hours later. Putting in the work to carb load, hydrate and eat during and after was a game changer. Thank you for all the knowledge you share. It’s made a difference to so many of us.
-
TashiaDBInformative and EntertainingI recently stumbled upon this podcast and Binged all of the episodes in just a few weeks. This is exactly what I needed as I get back into running after a 6 or 7 year hiatus after having kids and dealing with a hip issue. The three hosts are funny, entertaining, and most importantly very educational. I have learned and laughed so much while listening and now that I’ve got through the whole playlist I’m sad that I have to wait for every new episode. Keep up the good work!
-
writerforfunCan’t get enoughJust when I think you might run out of running-related nutrition topics, you come up with more helpful information! Thank you so much for your awesome and entertaining podcast!
-
lauralang3I learned so much! This podcast is wonderful! It’s full of great topics, amazing information and real data that can help you become a better runner. The episode about heat training and hydration was a game changer for me. I’m so thankful to have found this podcast!
-
RCF1981So Valuable!I look forward to every new episode of this podcast! I have learned so much and become such a better-fueled runner from all this great info!
-
quigsmsu354Great fueling advice packaged in a fun wayThe team discussed relevant topics (with a REGISTERED DIETITIAN who knows her stuff) and I’ve learned so much about fueling without falling asleep! A fun and informative listen
-
M_A_Cross1997OkayyOften had poor and inconsistent audio quality. I wish they answered more listener questions. Thomas seems like a surface level guy who lacks a deeper understanding of more complex topics. Or even simple topics at times. I was truly mind blown when he didn’t know what preworkout was. He also seems to have some weird issue with “vegetarians who push their views on others” and yet he is the one who takes every opportunity possible to bash vegetarians. I like how both Meghans can talk about a topic like specific diets or not eating meat from a factual/science based angle, rather than just rattling off made up claims .

Slimgym.Wait til you hit 65, sugar and HFCs. = Cancer, heart problems, diabeticsWhen til you hit 65 , you will see the possible effects of sugar and HFCS. Read Dr. Boz and Dr. Casey Means. Sugar and junk food = Disease!
-
Smith720Started out a fan, but will choose not to continueI think the reviews against Thomas are a little overboard, and I can’t even recall him fat shaming (this coming from an overweight runner). I enjoy their camaraderie. What I have been bothered by is the last podcast where a professional such as Meghann implied that a trend towards alcohol reduction is just coming from young influencers who aren’t even old enough to drink. What!!?? So much research out there for reasons NOT to drink, and a nutritionist we all look up to would dismiss it as unfounded. That was totally wild to me, and I lost respect. I know I don’t matter in the course of all things, but it’s just my opinion.
-
Runnerchiccy1818Thomas Take a Back SeatThomas’s constant interruptions and need to make jokes dilute the listening experience. All of us listen for fueling information. Please stop interrupting and save your attempts for comedy for your other show.
-
Marsha S HarkeyGreat podcastI really enjoy and look forward to listening to this podcast. Thomas adds humor. Some reviews mention that he interrupts but I just see it as friends sitting around chatting it up and answering a few questions in the process. It’s fun, it’s educational and it’s needed. No other podcast focuses ‘solely’ 😉 on running nutrition. I’m not even close to being at the same level with them as far as performance goes but as a 54 y.o. who found running late in life I’m trying to stay out there, feel good and finish. The information here helps me do just that.
-
Mtn bike OhioNeed to work the levelsGood info, good banter, BUT this is tough to listen to. One person will start mumbling so you have to turn the volume up then another one will bust out laughing and the volume and noise makes you cringe. Oftentimes find this podcast painful to listen to.
-
j_p1707UnfortunateAs someone with a background in Nutrition as well as a M.D. I totally geek out with Meghann. Her knowledge and ability to breakdown complex scientific articles to help endurances athletes perform is unparalleled. However…. Thomas’ fat shaming, interruptions and opposition to the medical field discounts every amazing thing Meghann brings to the show.
-
Nightcheese72Great except for one thing…Love the info- it’s amazing and helpful. The only negative is Thomas’ constant interrupting and talking over Meghann. It’s too much.
-
cnbentonHad to Quit.Meghann is putting out such crucial knowledge, but I’m going to have to stick to getting it from her Instagram, blog, newsletter, etc., as I can no longer handle Thomas constantly interrupting her on this podcast, especially when he lacks her expertise and credentials. His fat-shaming on a recent episode was the last straw for me.
-
adamss01Love the information! ButI’ve been a listener for a very long time, maybe a year. I love Feathers info so much, and the banter is fun and refreshing. Lately, I’ve found myself very annoyed at Thomas (so sorry Thomas) because he interrupts Feathers or gives his opinion before she answers. It’s just seemed more and more lately. I love the drop, so I’m not anti Thomas, I just listen to this podcast for Feather’s professional knowledge.
-
Czech TravelerI’m Torn…I really enjoy Featherstun and she has changed my fueling (for her, I’d give five stars!) but Thomas is making it very difficult for me to continue subscribing to the podcast. At best, he adds very little substance to the conversation; at worst, he answers questions without a background in sports nutrition when a subject expert is *right there*, distracts from a productive conversation by talking about making his wife feed him, and even fat-shaming. Please consider retiring him from the program. If you would like to incorporate a non-female voice, there are surely male or non-binary sports dietitians who would add to the conversation.
-
Mmmboi1234Great info and fun banterI appreciate the info especially as it is pertaining to running and performing well. I used to try and eat less to stay small, but as I’m getting more into running I’m more focused on eating well to be strong and healthy. I appreciate the focus on weight and fueling to perform your best! Thanks for all the info, I know you research what you put out there so I trust your content!
-
Lauren HarnickTHANK YOU!I listen all the time, but never wrote a review. The clean up after the Dr. Phil Maffetone episode was amazing!!!! So level headed, clear and rational. You always have great info and content, but this one was truly BONUS! Ty!
-
AnnaNeuAug 15 Bonus EpisodeI love this podcast, but the Aug 15 Bonus Episode response to the Maffetone interview was a great example of why I appreciate this show. Running is for everyone, and if we want to encourage all people to run (which should be everyone, but especially someone who is selling a running methodology), I think it’s important to celebrate that we’re going to have all kinds of people lining up for a marathon. And along that same line of thinking, that means different fueling strategies are going to work for different people.
-
HRun8414Informative, real, funnyThere is so much to love about the Fuel for the Sole Podcast. It provides a wealth of information about running for runners of all levels. There is absolutely no judgment for slower runners, but rather encouragement. The episodes aren't targeted at specific groups, but inclusive of all runners. The hosts include entertaining banter and are very realistic about running! I look forward to listening, and am so thankful for this podcast! I listened while training for my first full marathon, and am now doing what I never thought I'd do--train for a second! Thanks, Fuel for the Sole, for the motivation, inspiration, and encouragement!
-
Runwme100This Podcast Has Helped Me So Much! This podcast provides a wealth of practical information on all things related to fueling for endurance sports. I am so grateful to have found it. My dog is too because it means more walks for her while I listen. I look forward to new episodes.
-
Death 76Super beneficial advice!!This podcast is great for runners! Lots of practical advice that is easy to employ. I used many of Meaghan’s tips and advice to get a 14 minute marathon PR a few weeks ago…nutrition & fuel are so important!!
-
SarahRocksPRsMaking sense of all the info! This is such a fun podcast! Super helpful from a nutrition standpoint - there is so much information, products, claims, etc. out there, it’s hard to make sense of it all. Happy to listen to a team that gives it straight. Appreciate you all! PS - it’s already hot girl summer here in Phoenix, AZ - so please consider stopping out here!!
-
All T@kenLove it!I discovered this podcast just a month ago. Since then I have listened to every single episode released. I’m so glad to have found you. Knowledge I gained is probably the only reason why I was able to crush my half marathon two days ago in Florida heat. It was hard but without carb loading and proper hydration I would have been in serious trouble. I look forward to learning more as I am about to start training for fall marathon. Love you guys!
-
Mary PagonesFour squares of good infoIt’s so refreshing to listen to a running podcast that’s full of sensible, actionable advice based in evidence, versus tied to an ideology or a particular diet agenda.
-
SailingSeasLove this podcastI listen to this podcast on a cross training day each week. Thank you Meghann for pouring out your wisdom and knowledge each week! Thomas’s comments always make me laugh. 🤣
-
MDoss22Excellent!Love listening to these three together! Excellent topics, science backed advice, and plenty of banter. Thank you for putting out such great content and keeping it fun!
-
Sparta010Essential for endurance sports enthusiastsTruly one of the most informative, evidence based podcasts for all things related to sports nutrition. It’s efficient, easily digestible and memorable content that will have you fueling your best for miles on miles.
-
TrdmmLove!I love listening and geeking out about all the fueling challenges runners face! Feathers is a wealth of information and Thomas and Meghan add a lot of practical experience. Meghan does a great job summing up the main points at the end and Thomas brings the humor. I’ve learned so much from listening!
-
Sarah WittExcellent and detailed info for performance nutritionThis podcast has helped me to understand what’s required to get the best performance out of myself in terms of fueling and nutrition. The two Megs and Thomas cover so many topics that are relevant to running well, from supplements to meal timing to how much fuel to take in while racing. Bonus points for also leading me to Featherstone Nutrition’s website, which has so many incredible recipes as well as a carb load and other calculators. If you’re a runner, this is a must-listen.
-
KMGrunsSo much good info!Based in science and super helpful to understand fueling trends, issues and opportunities!
-
Ava_GKA must listen for practical running nutrition adviceAs someone who isn't a nutritionist or sports scientist by trade, I often find myself feeling overwhelmed by the sheer amount of conflicting information out there. The hosts do an incredible job of breaking down the latest research on sports nutrition and translating it into practical tips that runners of all levels can easily apply to their own training. I feel like I'm finally able to cut through the noise and get practical, engaging, and evidence-based advice that I can actually use! Bottom-line: If you're a runner looking an engaging podcast to up your nutrition/running game, this is a must-listen! You won't be disappointed. Thank you!
-
EllieRuns26.2Best Nutrition and Running Podcast!I cannot recommend this podcast enough to any endurance athlete wanting to nail their nutrition. Have listened to others but the chemistry between all three hosts is fantastic. Highly entertaining as well as educational. It was a game-changer in my performance. I’ve been able to understand how my needs were not being met, made some simple nutrition changes and have taken off 32 mins in my marathon time and see so much more potential. You must listen if you want to level up your nutrition to perform your best!
-
Lainey18One word… amazing!!!This is by far my favorite running podcast! It blends comedy with science based nutrition advice for the endurance athlete. It is easy to understand and never long enough! I have learned so much from podcast that helped me shave 11 min off my marathon time! Go carbs! My only con is that a new episode comes out every other week! I wish I could hear them weekly!! Thank you so much for this amazing resource!
-
Hard last name from ATLHonest and informed adviceIt’s great to hear advice that is well researched, unbiased , and not just an informercial for a vendor! Feathers and the BITR team keep the conversation fun and interesting while delivering great advise on how to better fuel our efforts. Five stars!
-
shyportGreat content if Thomas would stop interruptingThis pod puts out a lot of great content for runners. But I have a real pet peeve for hosts who constantly interrupt their cohosts. That would be Thomas in this case. He will fully interrupt someone while they’re MID-SENTENCE to interject his own thoughts. It comes across as rude and is also unhelpful to the listener who was interested in the rest of what the first person had to say. Meghann should consider branching of starting her own pod…I’d subscribe in a heartbeat.
-
mikeintheboroYou don’t know, what you don’t knowThis is by far the easiest to digest podcast on all things nutrition and hydration. As a non-elite (working for sub 3 BQ) runner I didn’t know what I was missing in my training from a nutrition, calorie, protein and sodium perspective. And they don’t make you feel dumb, cuz Thomas asks the same questions I would.
-
FiFi_KrisFuel for the Sole rocksSo stoked about finally finding this podcast. The hosts are engaging and the episodes are perfect in length. The information is presented so everyone can understand and even the hosts will jump in with ‘so what I hear you saying…’. It has really helped me to focus better on the nutrition behind my running and strength training.
-
BRKNSTRThis podcast made me realize that gels aren’t the problem!I thought I just couldn’t take gels. But I learned that I was under fueling and under hydrating. After listening to this podcast I finished a 70.3 without feeling like I wanted to puke. And I used gels for the whole race!
-
Robert HansonMy favorite podcast!!!!This podcast is packed with practical nutrition information. Just finished 16 miles with you all in my ear. And you better believe I was fueling every 30 minutes. Game changer!! Thank you for all your great advice!!
-
Spunge24Listening over and over! This podcast is so informative and really has made a difference in my running. Meghann gives out all her knowledge and Meaghan and Thomas ask the exact questions I’m thinking while listening. I definitely listen to these over and over when I need a reminder. Thanks everyone! Peas and carrots.
-
TRPodReviewsThe wall? Never encountered itFeathers’ nutrition advice and carbo loading plan got me through my first marathon without hitting the wall. I felt great from the start all the way to 26.2. As a runner herself, she gets it and explains nutrition to those of us without a degree in it will understand. Highly recommend you supplement your listening of the drop with this pod.
-
Dotmomof2Episode 32I just listened to E32 in fueling nutrition. It answered my question on why I felt like crap after Berlin. I dropped my final Ucan at mile 18 and only had my handheld that had a little electrolyte left in it. I finished feeling nauseous and I was a lighter shade of my usual pasty white. I have those Untapped and I think I’ll mix that up with my UCan. I also need to try preloading or loading earlier in my next marathon London 2023. :). Thank you very much. Going through your library now.
-
RunnerRDGreat content and fun peopleAs a fellow dietitian who works with runners, I love listening to this! It is spot on! The banter is funny and I love how humble the ladies are with their amazing marathon times! You are inspiring!
-
Cinc-RunnerAmazing ShowLove the banter and super helpful information. Feathers + BITR = Dream Team
-
Love It 9Great Nutrition Info For RunnersSuper entertaining podcast with nutrition information from a Registered Dietitian that is science backed! Lots of great information for all types of runners too…females, masters, vegans, you name it, they cover it!
