Update: they’ve referenced a handful of times in more recent episodes Daniel being criticized for saying the wrong thing. I’ve noticed he’s changed around this a lot and either stopped, or they finally started editing those things out. So appreciate the move away from fat shaming, victim blaming, and wide sweeping statements that come across as judgments. Thanks for taking the feedback to heart! Sometimes this podcast is so aggravating. Melissa and Daniel can be so judgmental. They project opinion as fact often, especially Daniel, and spend way too much time talking about what they think someone was thinking/feeling with seemingly no evidence that what they’re saying is even true. They’ve eased up on the clearly fat phobic statements but still say a lot of problematic things from time to time and just seem generally behind the times (or just genuinely don’t care to catch up). The dumb thing is, I still keep listening. It’s like I love to hate them or something. They cases they cover are usually ones I haven’t heard of before, and I like the way Melissa structures the story. 🤷🏼

I absolutely love the commentary between Daniel and Melissa! I don’t how you do it, but you bring authentic comedy and compassion to tragic events. If I’m gonna listen to crime, it’s going to be this!

Love this podcast! Especially the part where we know where the banter ends and the actual case begins. Having said that I did hear about Steely Dan on this episode. There are those of us who are partial to both Steely Dans.

Just found this podcast and love it !! I love the lady’s (Melissa)voice . Perfect for radio !!! Love the stories , can visualize exactly as she’s telling it. You can tell Melissa puts a lot of thought and research into the stories. My new favorite podcast ! And I love true crime.

I love this podcast! The factoids, the banter, the details that Melissa gives is chef’s kiss. I also giggle every time Melissa says are we allowed to say that? And Daniel’s “There it is” has now became apart of my daily vocabulary! Keep up the awesome work!

I started from the beginning and I really do love this podcast. It’s light, straight to the point, & stays on theme. My only two things are that sometimes Daniel’s jokes can be a little too corny, not funny, & not very tasteful in regard to the victims. And the narrator makes me feel like I’m in class & the teacher is explaining directions to me for the fifth time trying not to lose her composure (lol) BUT everything else is *chefs kiss*.

Never stop singing Kenny loggins. I mean Kenny rogers! 😂

I enjoy this podcast you both are so charming. Your love and respect for each other shines through. Thank you for taking the time to entertain!

The best crime podcast ever. So good that you can go to sleep after and not keep thinking about how horrible people are. Daniel and Melissa have a way of telling their stories, getting the messages across, and not making me angry or freaked out. Y’all always seem to laugh in the middle of a story which lightens it a lot. I also love that no children are in the stories. Great job on every podcast. I love how y’all share other podcast of your friends. I have found other podcasts to listen to because of y’all.

I listen to a LOT of podcasts since I work from home…. Lots of crime, a ton of murders 😱 nice twist here with you two. Down to earth, easy conversation, and I particularly like the regard you tend to give to each other. A nod for marriage and the importance of adult aerobics to keep things healthy & real. No swearing, no child crimes, no serials - love it. You’re doing a great job! (Went back to beginning to listen to all of them. The original grocery delivery service? There’s a million True Crime podcasts these days, which I’m partially grateful for, sadly most are just regurgitating the same tired old dateline episodes. This podcast has some entertaining banter, however I was immediately turned off when one of the hosts mispronounced amygdala (ah-mig-da-la) as “amig-daily”. It’s petty, I know, but I am what I am…*shrug

I started listening to the show after watching Candy (still get angered by the soft portrayals of Montgomery by the show and Love & Death. And the lack of empathy or compassion for the victim Betty Gore). Anyways, you were one of maybe 2 other podcasts on the subject. I fell fast for your banter (I tend to skip the facts, sorry). You have such sympathy for the victims but still keep it light, and love your commitment to no commercials. I’d still listen if you had them. Keep up the good work, one day I’ll support your paetreon.

So I met Melissa through my cousin and I saw they went on a cruise together so I decided to look to see what Melissa has been up to since I haven’t seen her in years. Then I was so excited to see she is hosting a podcast with her husband! And I am so happy I found this podcast. I love listening to new cases I haven’t heard before and laughing along with you both! My family thinks I’m crazy when I just start laughing out of no where since they don’t realize I have my AirPods in 😂 keep up the great work!

Yes for the Gen “X”er’s, we are great aren’t we, best generation ever!! I landed on this podcast by accident and boy am I glad that I tried them. So much fun to listen to, not your usual true crime podcast. Not by a long shot. I am a true crime junkie and I know about A LOT of crimes. I have learned about new crimes from this podcast and the ones that I know about I have learned new things about the crime!! Melissa does her research big time! Daniel her very dry, witty and sarcastic husband listens to her tell the story, asks questions, we are all thinking, and makes funny comments. They keep out any crimes against children, thankfully, that is so appreciated. Daniel gives us random “factoids” to start the show and Melissa ends the show with “Fun Facts” related to the show somehow. I love how you can tell that they are enjoying each other, and how they crack each other up. Don’t worry M&D you make us laugh too.

You guys are hilarious. I love all sorts of podcasts, but your show is definitely in my top favorites. I absolutely love the banter as well. Daniel and his fun facts are very entertaining. I found this podcast by searching, weeding through so many duds, and I am so thankful to have stumbled upon this one. Finally, a podcast where the voices are normal (no vocal fry), good audio, perfect length and the cases are very well researched! The people who say “there’s too much talking”, are just nitpicking. You can easily fast-forward a few minutes in the beginning if needed, and most of the episodes get right to the case. Out of all of the true crime podcasts, this is definitely top-tier. Keep doing what you are doing!

Love these two! Their thoroughly researched episodes paired with hilarious, relatable banter & factoids are perfect! But wait, there’s more! They have ZERO ads! None! There’s nothing to complain about here. If you don’t like it, just go away.

Good podcast but would be better if they didn't spend 13 minutes just talking before getting to the actual story. Hopefully this changes soon.

This has quickly turned into my favorite podcast at night . The humor is much needed to balance out the loads of “crazy” married people 😂 Fun facts are so great!! You compliment each other like peanut butter and jelly!

I found this podcast on my own just desiring to add yet another true crime podcast to my obsession, and when I stumbled across Daniel and Melissa I was hooked. Not only are the cases entertaining/gripping, but I find myself also dying (no pun intended) from laughter. They just make your day better and the podcast itself is so well done.

Melissa’s humor is outstanding, her research is wonderful, and her story telling keeps me hooked. Daniel’s alright too… Jkjkjk Daniel must be a mind reader because he asks the questions I would if I were paying attention as much as he is. But usually I’m driving so I can’t afford all my attention to the show. Also, this review is to push the numbered reviews off of 666. You’re welcome.

Your show is amazing, I have always been a fan of true crime. A little backstory, my step grandmother shot and killed my grandfather so it’s not always the husband sometimes it’s a crazy step grandmother. 😳 I love how much care and insight you put into the cases, you both keep me entertained!
