This podcast is extremely entertaining and informative. Dave and team are inclined to technological solutions and modernist techniques and ingredients but they have a true passion for and expansive knowledge of food and drinks in all styles and across the world. I have learned so much and gotten so much better at cooking from listening to this podcast (even though I don’t have many modernist ingredients or advanced cooking tools). I’ve listened to every food podcast show out there and this is the best one. Hands down.

Dave has an immense amount of knowledge about food, cooking, and chemistry. The crew is also weird and quirky. If you care about knowledge, food, or are just a generally curious person, this show is wonderful. When Dave or Nastassia become motivated, they’ll go to the ends of the earth for it. If you don’t like the first show you listen to, try a few more. Remember, it’ll get weird, and every episode isn’t for everyone, but generally, a great show — and I would say for the topic, it’s unique, and unparalleled.

If you like Alton Brown (Good Eats), Kenji Lopez Alt (The Food Lab) or America’s Test Kitchen you need to listen to this show. Dave has a staggering depth and breadth of cooking knowledge on everything from the latest molecular gastronomy tricks to traditional techniques. Wonderfully produced with a fun crew and great guests. Dave often goes off on wild tangents and if you go along for the ride you’ll have a great time and learn a lot. There are also hundreds of old episodes on the listing from Heritage Radio.
