Very one sided explanation of the effects of tariffs in the face of individual US industries having to compete with Countries that sponsor and subsidize low price goods coming to the US like China and countries that dump massive amounts of natural resources like Canada and timber.

It’s the new year and I’m trying to get back into a routine at the gym, which means I need listening material! I “followed” this show a couple of years so but I haven’t listened to an episode in a long time. I quickly browsed the latest, saw the Boxing Day episode had an interesting topic or two and started the playback. My workout was done before I knew it and I had learned a number of things, which is a huge compliment to Andy for sticking with this to reiterate important topics and for always finding new ones! My current hot topic is managing income when single and pre-65 to avoid unnecessary taxes – for which I include ACA premiums. I’ll search the library to find episodes for future gym sessions! … almost 4 yrs I’ve listened to this show - As a lay person facing retirement I have found his information invaluable and in retirement still pertinent to understanding the many considerations of retiring/ retirement. Andy is clear concise and thoughtful. There is no sales pitch, Andy has been extremely generous with his knowledge both here and on the face book group he oversees. I have benefited greatly from his input.

This is the most informative retirement resource I have found by far. I have shared this show several times as well as referred back to content I have previously listened too. Andy is amazing.

I’ve been listening to Andy’s podcasts for a few years and has been an invaluable resource for all things retirement planning especially as a DIYer and occasionally hiring fee only CFPs as check ins. I appreciate his integrity, knowledge and humility. I also appreciate being on his FB community and always learning. I am now retired and channels such as this has been a confidence booster as a DIYer.

I listen to a LOT of retirement podcasts now and I was so happy to find this one. Andy is so down to earth and I really appreciate his no nonsense approach to retirement planning. I also really appreciate that he’s not trying to sell services to his listeners. What a nice change from other shows.

Lots of interesting content, explained really clearly for those of us who are not CPAs or engineering types, with great personality and humor. I’ve just recently tuned in, I like the fact that Panko is not ‘selling’ anything and presents topics in a practical and understandable way. Especially given the complexity of the issues. He’s a great resource informed advice on issues in the retirement space.

Andy knows his stuff, and presents it in a manner easily accessible to both novices and the financially knowledgeable. Plus he has many other avenues to help, such as his website and huge Facebook group. What really sets him apart from other financial podcast folks is that he’s not trying to drum up business. He’s not even accepting new clients at his firm. He’s just doing all this to help more people. And that’s amazing!

One of my top retirement planning podcasts. Andy is very knowledgeable and very generous sharing that knowledge in an unbiased, easy to digest manner. And he’s enjoyable to listen to!

Honest information; no selling of products or services

I only listen to (most of) the podcasts as I am still working (one more year!) and can’t seem to find the time to access the website/Youtube channel etc., but find Andy to be incredibly thoughtful and forthright in his explanations of all things retirement and especially taxes. It’s an area that seems to be mystifying even to someone like myself who feels somewhat knowledgeable yet still lacking in the vagaries of taxes in retirement. Kudos to him for creating such great free content. The corny dad jokes are part of the charm, just roll with it, the podcast is an excellent way to pass a commute, a walk, or a gym session. Knowledge is power, in this case the power to give the government only what is rightfully theirs, and keep the rest to spend and enjoy yourself. Keep up the really excellent work.

This week’s episode on charitable giving was so great. Covered every option in an understandable format and was detailed enough but didn’t go down rabbit holes. Andy clearly thinks about his listeners first!

I’ve been listening to Andy’s podcast the last couple of weeks. I’ve gone back and listened to older podcasts to get answers to my questions. I like the way he explains things, very clear and concise. He seems to be a very honest natured person. A lot of podcast start out fine, but after a couple of years you find out that they are trying to sell the listener something. This doesn’t seem to hold true with Andy’s podcast.

I really enjoy the Retirement Planning Education podcast with Andy Panko. There’s a lot of detailed information covering so many useful topics. Highly recommend for someone trying to educate themselves on preparing for retirement!

Program gives a level of detail other podcasts don’t. More information per minute on a wide range of topics than any other finance program or written news article. I’ve listened to every podcast, many twice.

Andy is a star! As someone who is on the cusp of retirement and was not very well informed, Andy has been a tremendous resource. He is smart and his podcasts are super informative. There is no sales pitch on anything. He genuinely simply wants to help people.

This podcast is a gold mine of information about finances in retirement. You can see the focus for an episode and listen to the ones that interest you. Highlights are interviews with retirement finance advisors and interviews with “real people”. The real people tend to be models for strategic and thoughtful DIY retirement finance planning. Andy Panko is very forthright and generous in giving away his expertise with no personal gain from the effort. Check out the 100th episode for 10 pieces of guidance in 10 categories.

Andy is able to clearly explain things that can be confusing or complex when it comes to taxes and finances. We all know that these subjects can be boring, but I find this podcast quite interesting and relevant as a retired 69yo who still does all my own taxes and financial planning. Listening to this podcast keeps me on my toes. If and when I can’t understand him anymore, I’ll know it’s time to turn in my calculator!

Andy starts his podcast with 1 or 2 dad jokes ( love them ). His weekly show is extremely informative and discussions are down to earth and easy to follow. Thanks

I started watching your interview with real people in YouTube, know how they planned their retirement plan, especially interview with Ali and Alison. They did great job on their plan by open mind to learn and dig resources. Now I started listening your podcast from beginning. Thank you for providing such wonderful educational information!

Andy does a great job with this podcast and his Facebook group of the same name. He leans more (but not exclusively) toward the technical side of retirement planning (as opposed to the softer side of RP, such as finding meaning in retirement, filling up your schedule, etc.). Andy is a teacher at heart, and this come through loud and clear in his content. Enjoy his podcast!
