Two Onc Docs

Medicine #94

This is Sam and Karine, and we are Two Onc Docs! We both graduated from our Heme/Onc fellowships in 2021 and became board certified in both Hematology and Oncology. Our mission with Two Onc Docs is to create short board review episodes that you can listen to on your drive to work, while you make your morning coffee, or between pages on call. This is intended to be a supplement to other established board studying resources for busy trainees. *This podcast is intended to be an educational resource for health care providers.*

    Take a breath
Breathe! I’m not sure if it’s Sam or karine, but she talks so fast she is getting short of air. Great info though.

High Yield Goldmine for Hem/Onc Boards
This podcast delivers high yield board review topics in a very effective manner. I love Sam and Karine’s remarkable ability to curate each episode succinctly while reinforcing important concepts and summarizing the key points in the end. This is a perfect supplement to traditional board prep materials. Since this podcast is a quick paced review, this can be used as an adjunct to the study videos and questions especially for topics which are volatile and require constant reviewing. The bite size episodes are a plus! I listen to them while driving, sometimes multiple times to remember the high yield testable facts on the exam.

    Excellent show topics
Great breakdown of different types of cancers. Wish there was an easier way to contact. I’d love to hear a show on bone marrow with T cell lymphoma. A show on testing genetic pathology would be great too.

    Excellent review
I used this podcast for preparation for ITE and I did very well just by listening to them and doing ASCO-SEP questions. Thanks for this excellent podcast, extremely high yield! Keep it up!
  • 2nd year fellow
    Amazing board review resource
I have been listening to 2oncdocs since the inception and it is by far, the best podcast/e learning resource out there for heme onc boards. I am a 2nd year fellow right now and recently got my ASCO ITE score back and scored in the 88th percentile. This is in large part due to 2oncdocs and the amazing content they put out every Monday!

Excellent high-yield Podcast for fellows in training
Incredibly helpful content, especially the recent heme podcasts. Can’t emphasize enough how valuable they were for heme and onc In Training Exams. Supplementing the talks with videos and questions has helped solidify material and lock it into memory. Deeply appreciate Sam and Karine for helping us trainees tremendously!

    Amazing podcast
Great, short, high yield episodes with succinct and accurate information. They also share a lot of good resources and board studying tips along the way. A must have for board and ite studying

Feels like you’re studying with a couple of friends from med school
Passed both hem and onc this year and I credit this podcast for playing a HUGE role in making many seeming nebulous topics simple and accessible. Episodes are short and I didn’t need to block out an hour listen to them. Lastly, listening to this podcast makes studying for boards feel like hanging out with two classmates/friends rather than a chore at the end of a workday.

    Five star
Hits all the high yield and “gotta know it”for the HemOnc boards! Love this podcast
  • life_learner21
    Hard to follow
I appreciate these podcasts are succinct but there’s little framework other than regurgitation of facts. Too many facts in a short time that can be hard to grasp and follow. I’m an earlier learner and other reviews show that it could be useful right before boards for very advanced fellows as a supplement.
  • skg729
    So high yield!
Absolutely love this while board studying! GUYS, Please release a stem cell transplant episode on common complications and picking a donor! Love you
  • cantalopes91
    Perfect Review
This podcast is invaluable for heme/onc fellows at any point in training to get high yield & up-to-date facts to study for boards, supplement clinical expertise and improve knowledge base. As busy as fellowship gets, the format is perfect for trainees and even staff on the go! Keep it up twooncdocs 👏

    Thank you
This podcast has been a great resource to supplement my study routine of videos/qbanks when on the go. Short enough that they are easy to repeat.

    Very Helpful
Found this podcast to be a great and succinct resource preparing for boards and future practice. Great 15 min episodes for my drive to work!
  • DrMTuck
    Not Very Helpful
I’m currently studying for my boards and this podcast is not very helpful. It is essentially regurgitating simple facts from the NCCN. I think it would likely be hard for many newer fellow to fully understand these concepts. There are much more useful comprehensive board review resources in my opinion. I’ve listened to several of these episodes and for me it has not been useful. Things like ASCO Q banks, hemonc question Q bank, ASH, and ASCO resources are far more useful.

    Stellar Podcast!!
This podcast is exactly what heme/onc fellows need!! The short episodes focusing on one topic is an amazing format and so easy to fit in anytime. Love the high yield facts we need to know and also the first episodes list of studying resources! I would love to hear more details on your study schedules from July-boards.

    Great podcast!
Starting my fellowship in July and saw this podcast recommended on Reddit - listened to the first episode and I’m excited to hear them all! Perhaps you touch on it already, but would definitely appreciate any tips you may have for a brand new fellow; how to get your bearings, what to focus on, any other suggestions you may have. Looking forward to listening to the remainder of your episodes, thanks!
