A spiritually and practically beneficial podcast
My husband and I have benefited from multiple resources by the Sauves and have found this podcast to be encouraging and upbuilding. I like that these episodes usually provide me with food for thought to chew on/something to bring to my husband. While I could binge episodes, I often prefer to listen to one at a time in order to allow my mind to work through the ideas discussed. I’ve found it spiritually beneficial for me and helpful for my home overall to engage with the ideas presented in the episodes and to further discuss them with my husband regarding how/what we might apply/believe regarding our household. A 10/10 recommend!

    GOAT pod
This is seriously one of the best podcasts available. If you love the Lord and want practical advice for cultivating a biblical home life that glorifies God, Bright Hearth provides exactly what you’re looking for in a very unique way by engaging the listener with warm and entertaining conversations between Brian and Lexi who just happen to be probably the most adorable couple on the face of the planet.

    Singles love it too
My brother recommended this to me as his roommate did him, and now my brother's gf listens too! Keep putting out content for singles!! For sure some hot takes, but overall we all love the podcast, it calls me higher and encourages me to have well-formed opinions as a single 22yo woman. It makes me excited to be a wife and mom someday Lord willing. <3

    Great podcast!
I started going through all of the episodes from the beginning. I couldn’t get enough. There are things I might not completely agree on but I am so thankful that Brian and Lexy are challenging me to thinking biblically and dive deeper into what scripture is saying.

    Mixed feelings
My husband and I have listened to 7 or so episodes starting from the beginning. I genuinely believe these two seek Christ and care about building and advancing Christendom. I’m very thankful for their dedication and ministry. They share some great Biblical wisdom and practical counter-cultural ideas. I share with them the desire to restore the lost art of homemaking because I learned nothing of the sort growing up. However, I can’t get past their arrogance. They claim to not be coming from a “holier than thou” place, but they simply do. I’d be afraid to host these two over for dinner. I’d be paranoid that everything was wrong with my house, decor, my cooking, my pregnancy, our routines, the discipline of our children, etc. I think too often they blur commands of Scripture with personal opinion about how to live life and they don’t show grace for any other way of life. Some counter-cultural things aren’t financially or physically realistic for some, but you can still fully pursue Christ and glorify God in said things. Use discernment when listening. It’s a slow process coming from a secular home to being a Christian wife desiring to be a godly homemaker, so this podcast helps, but leaves me feeling a little defeated I fear when there actually is not true conviction from God. Thanks for reading and I will continue to listen!

    Thanks to God
This is the first time I've listened to these episodes. I am 70 years old and caring full time for my husband of 51 years. Many things were an encouragement to me but the quote " Learning to love what must be done" God has used today to put in my belt to remember when days are Longer and harder. I've listened to all your podcasts and the churches teachings. I thank God He has put me in touch with your ministries. Thank you for your ministry to the body of Christ and the clarity of His word. Blessings.

    So helpful
This podcast was recommended to me by my mentors and I am absolutely loving it. As a teenage girl working toward marriage and children this podcast is so helpful in preparing my heart and mind for that. Also it’s so refreshing from our feminist culture. Thank you Ben and Lexi! I can’t wait to learn more and think through these lessons even more.

Great words of encouragement in daily Christian living.
Would have loved to have had this available when we were younger and raising small children. Still so valuable as we raise young adults and advise our recently married kids. Lots to think about and discern, not always in full agreement, but definitely good words, thoughts, insight and instruction.

    Thankful
The latest episode (on temperance) hurt my feelings. Good. I needed it. Thank you guys for talking about the hard things and calling it out. It’s nice to hear about sins that are common to women and call us to the better without coddling. Will always recommend this podcast; my family is better for it

    Super helpful advice/tips
My husband and I started listening from season one to all the way through the current episodes! I was about four months pregnant and working at that point. I will say as a working pregnant person, I was at first very discouraged because I felt like I couldn’t really do these things well because I was a full time teacher! However, after having my son and be given the great blessing of staying home with my little guy, I have found it super helpful to reorganize my attitude and find joy in learning to be a homemaker. If you are stay at home mother, very practical! If you aren’t, give yourself some grace!

    Eh
I’ve been listening to this podcast almost everyday for the past two weeks, and I’ve loved it. I love the exhortation, and even criticism of woman, in a culture today that worships woman. It’s common (even in church) to have your ears tickled by the “you do you” message given to woman today. However, I’ve noticed that in listening to almost 20 episodes, I have yet to hear the same critism for men? It somehow always comes back to the wife being at fault. It’s super interesting. What did it for me though was their episode on homeschooling. It felt grossly arrogant, as they sarcactically dissed homeschooling. Hearing you two laughing about how us homeschool moms can’t teach our kids Latin, or other subjects we’re not specialized in, and how essentially we’re not giving them the best in homeschooling, is just insane to me. And hearing Lexi say she didn’t want to be selfish and homeschool… like what?? She’s obviously never homeschooled lol. Anyways, I love Doug Wilson, and I have no doubt Brian and Lexi are being used mightily for the kingdom, but I can’t get past the overall arrogance riddled throughout this podcast. And I’m sad, because it’s extremely hard to find solid believers focusing on family, and living generationally for the kingdom.
  • Mjk_1028
    Very one sided
Why is it that all the criticisms are targeted towards women and wives and there’s absolutely nothing talking about the husband’s common sims or duties in the house?? 😀

    I love Bright Hearth
Thank you for this podcast! It has been so helpful for me to think about the topics you present on the show. I did not grow up learning how to be a homemaker or how to glorify God in it. I have learned so much about restoring this in my life and for my family. It has helped me to recognize sin in my heart and overcome/understand obstacles that get in the way of glorifying God in my home. Thank you.

5 Stars (and a personal request)!
Review: As a newly married wife, "Bright Hearth" has helped me grow in my understanding of my God given roles and responsibilities and practically apply my faith to daily life as a wife, helper, and homemaker. As my husband and I create our own productive Christian household, these episodes have helped us start conversations about what that looks like in real life, with "boots on the ground." I can't thank Brian, Lexy, and New Christendom Press enough for the ways that God has used them to help us grow in our faith, our convictions, and our mission as a family! Request: In a place where there are many evangelical churches, but few likeminded Christians, I would love to find a way to meet others who are listening/supporting New Christendom Press in my local area! Although we'd love to attend a conference, our priority is to be good stewards of our finances (which as young newlyweds, are still limited)! Is there any way to connect New Christendom Press supporters in other parts of the nation without spending money on a conference? We would love to see God do a similar work to what He is doing in Ogden in our local area! Thank you again for all that you are doing! These podcasts have blessed me and my family so much!

    The Friend that Everyone Needs
In a Post-Christian culture and in the lazy church of America, there are not many believers like the Sauvés in our local community. What a BLESSING to “sit” with them and here the culmination of so much biblical wisdom. Every believer needs this show to notice the ways that we have given up the responsibilities, beauties, and joys that God has laid before each Christian family. I have been so blessed by seeing a grander and more important picture of my role as a homemaker. My husband has been greatly impacted by the men at Ogden church and introduced me to them a few months ago. They have given great direction on what to look for in a local church and community. As we recover from subtle feminist mindsets (I’ve grown up only in Reformed churches and it was still very present), we are flourishing in our God-given roles and our family is thriving. The instruction from this podcast and many others from New Christendom Press have given us clarity on so many convictions we already had from the Holy Spirit. Give this podcast a listen, you won’t regret it! All Glory to God and thank you, Lord, for the Sauvés!!

    Some great content but…
I’ve learned some good things from listening. I think the hosts genuinely love and pursue Christ. I think if you’re looking for solid teaching you’ll find it here, even though I personally disagree with some of their philosophy (learned mainly from what they post elsewhere). On the podcast I have just had a hard time getting past some of the sarcasm, mainly from Brian. It is constant in some episodes and comes across as very arrogant. I think it distracts from the overall message, but I get that it’s a personal preference so 3 stars for me. I may listen from time to time and try other episodes.

I enjoy the dynamic of Brian and Lexy and the topics they discuss. I wish they would make a master book list on their site bc they mention a lot throughout their podcast’s!

    Changed our Home
Absolutely love this Podcast. Strikes great conversation in the evening for my wife and I when we listen to it. I’m rating 4 stars for the algorithm. Yes just like anyone else they can bring up things that you may disagree with. However we usually find ourselves feeling convicted and challenged. They clearly love the Lord.

    flirting
My wife listens to your show. I overhear some programs. I find some of the discussions helpful, but the flirting seems disingenuous. I’m sure that it’s difficult to speak to your wife while also performing for an audience. Maybe the combination is essentially bent, and therefore it can’t be helped. Maybe a propriety issue. Not exactly sure. Trying to be helpful.

    Picking on Women too often
I hear you completely how women have ruined the known world, and they need to be called out for it, and feminism has been so rampant recently. We truly have forgotten how to live out a godly marriage as man and woman commanded by our Lord. However every episode harps on women and their same issue on repeat of nagging, controlling, etc. An episode titled towards the role of a man, every point he makes will weigh heavily more on how the woman can ruin the man vs the actual role of him. It’s never reciprocated how a man can also inhibit the glory of women in the household. The episodes lean more towards Brian venting about women. I’d love to hear a more frequent heart cry to men to ramp up their purpose in the post mil church, similar passion behind Neptune is Roaring.

Talk about the goodness of our Lord..
I am profoundly grateful to the Lord for guiding me to this remarkable couple and their inspiring podcast. The episode about cherishing moments in the kitchen with family and discovering grace truly resonated with me, as did "Parenting from the Pews," which touched my heart and soul deeply. These episodes have been a blessing in my life, and I am sincerely thankful. As I recently enjoyed the homemaker episode, a thought crossed my mind about the possibility of assisting with marketing, and then you mentioned your challenges in that area. Could this be the Lord working? If the opportunity arises to explore marketing support, I would be honored to contribute my skills to your mission. Thank you for the joy and insights your podcast brings. May God continue to bless your endeavors. God Bless Y’all, Samantha A

    Yikes.
A young woman I used to go to church with exclaimed how this podcast and the Suavés had helped lead her household into a more kingdom-serving home. I followed immediately! Super excited about a season of “Good, Beautiful, & True”. YIKES. Instead of virtue and opinions formed by a rigorous study of God’s Word and the Saints, it’s overcasual, blathering, and a thinly-veiled owning of “the libs” (no, drag queen story hours shouldn’t happen in cathedrals — and they DON’T — but resentment toward “China” or the FDA shouldn’t either. Sitting through the Suavés ads, oy vey). Orthodoxy has a lot to say on the three transcendentals. Let’s pour over that together and see how we weave that into our homes. Look elsewhere for a virtuous Christian life. Father Chad Rippenberger is a great start. Heady but evocative. (Also) He is vocal about his opposition to homosexuality but nowhere and at no time does he say, “What you’re saying sounds pretty gay to me.” Theme next season: Maturity.

    I love this show!
As a lifetime Christian and an aspiring homemaker this podcast has helped me learn how to be a homemaker! It has inspired many conversations with my husband that have deepened our relationship. I really appreciate Brian and Lexi’s wisdom and willingness to share what they have learned!

    Solid Teaching
Brian is hilariously honest and cut throat in the most biblical way possible. Lexi is the sweet supporter and genuine voice along side him. They make me laugh, test my conviction plus are sweet with how to fix the problem you’re in. The love podcast!

    Helpful information
I’m working my way through the catalog of episodes Brian and Lexy have so obviously poured into with their whole hearts. I am the first time mom they mention who may be listening in the Sleep Training episode. I’m cosleeping and tending to this single child in a way I can manage right now, but I’m aware that this will be more difficult as we welcome more children (God willing) into our family. While I’m at a very different place than them right now, I am encouraged that another method can work and is possible. So much feels impossible when you’re in the trenches as a baby’s main need-meeter. I appreciate them and the information.

The Lord Works Through Brian and Lexy
We are very blessed to receive the wisdom, encouragement, necessary rebuke, warnings, (and examples of how to flirt with our spouse) from this humble Christian covenant couple. From the heaps of wheat, horizontal ice cream indulgence, Pro-Metabolic beef liver reports, and actually listenable ads about volumizer bran-I mean bands - to the tremendous insight on how to be incredibly handsome, masculine, and definitely not So-Gay, I have been so blessed by the insight of the Family Captain and his very based rib. May the Lord bless you and keep you Brian and Lexy, and Lord willing at some point between now and the resurrection we will find out the name of the secret band that Brian was in. (Eph. 5:13)

    Christ-centered and not shying away!!!
My sister recommended this podcast and it instantly became one of my faves! So much wisdom on killing sin and allowing relationships and families to thrive God’s way!

Not sure God’s will is for men to sit around and chat like women.
Unfortunate that I found this podcast where the first one listed was a man’s foolish tweet about adoption. It won’t be getting a second chance from me. The podcast starts off with a bunch of men (not even sure how many.. maybe 3?) talking over each other and giggling like young school girls.. odd but okay.. I kept listening and it seems like the focus was to try to make excuses for the foolish adoption tweet. Have these men not read James?? “Pure and undefined religion is this.. that one would care for the widow and the orphan” None of these giggly men seemed to exegete the dozens of Bible verses that can relate to adoption. They make mention of people claiming “adoption ruined their family..” what a sad, sad thing to blame a broken child for a parents failure to correctly discipline and nurture a child back to health. I’m so thankful the Lord doesn’t view me this way.. I was a broken foreign child, but He took me in, He parented me with love and the rod of correction, He adopted me into the family of God. As I said in the title.. I’m not sure God’s will for these men is to sit around giggling and saying controversial (unbiblical) things to get views and attention. Perhaps they should be “truly religious” (as the Lord teaches in James) and take care of orphans in their free time instead.

    Homeschool vs. Private school
I have to disagree with you on this one. I understand some of your points you made about how private, Christian school is better than homeschooling. However, there are not many Christian schools that are “free” to their tithing members of the church body. Actually, St. Brendan’s (sic?) is the first I’ve ever heard of. So, I’d be careful making it sound as if this is some easily obtainable solution. Also, even if parents aren’t doing it “well”, at the very least, the children are at home with their parent and siblings and not with their peers, that are still sinful human beings. With that said, I appreciate your podcast.

    Thank You Brian and Lexy
My husband and I started listening to Bright Hearth shortly after we found out we were pregnant with our first child. We wanted to grow together spiritually to become the best parents we can be for our little man. Our son is 3 months old now, and the changes we have made in our life in the last year to make Christ Lord of every aspect of our living have been truly eye-opening. My husband and I are thriving in our marriage and individual walks with the Lord and we are so grateful for how God has used Bright Hearth (along with other podcasts) to enact that change. When we are willing to humble ourselves and take God’s Word for what it says and obey it, rather than reinterpreting scripture to fit our preconceived notions of God and reality, it will change us. That has been a refreshing blessing in our lives! God bless your family and thank you!

    Wealth of Wisdom and Knowledge!

    Resource List only for Patreon??
I have listened to two episodes that I found to be encouraging and inspiring, including “The Necessity of Beauty.” In that episode, Lexi talked about some books that helped her to learn about different design styles. It seemed that she was going to share a book title that helped her learn and Brian stopped her, saying that the title would be shared only on the paid content. I was excited to learn more and pursue the vision discussed in the podcast. It felt like a blow to withhold resources for paid content. Do they actually want to help people grow in the domestic arts or draw people in so the they need to pay for the actual resources, which are books, not even books authored by them! I am NOT against paid content and I understand that podcasters pursue money making. This withholding of resources that could help women actually pursue the necessity of beauty just felt uncharitable and unnecessary. Maybe beauty really is only accessible to the few elite with funds. I am not sure I will continue listening.

So Good it Makes Me Cry
The only thing negative I can say about this podcast is that it has caused me to have to come to terms with the ways in which my marriage and attempt at biblical matriarchy has fallen so short of the ideal. Sometimes I have to turn it off because what they speak of is too beautiful to look at. I especially loved the episodes on beauty, art & homemaking, as well as fertility and the marriage bed. We don’t even realize how cultural influences have clouded our vision, and it’s a never ending battle against the culture of death in which we exist at present. Brian and Lexy are a force, and they speak with the conviction and power of Truth behind them. I can’t wait to see this blow up and I praise God for the eternal impact their work is having in the world. Keep up the good work guys.

    I sincerely can’t get enough
I found this Podcast from first following the “Rebel Podcast” who led me to “The King’s Hall” and I’ve since immersed myself in everything I can find coming from Brian to include the “Haunted Cosmos” and peripherally Eric’s “Hard Man” podcasts. This podcast has now taken my favorite spot for biblical familial values. Well done!

    Feedback
Hey guys , I wanted to first say thank you for the time and energy you guys put into the podcast on top of shepherding a church and your home. Something that has stood out to me in some episodes is the way you speak of others, particularly others who are still or were in the season of the topic you’re discussing . As an example, the recent episode of fighting over dumb things , the couple you shared of, as silly and unconventional their argument was, they were lost sheep seeking out their shepard. But the way you spoke of them was demeaning and distasteful😔 it felt borderline gossip. I just kept thinking , man.. in my early marriage we did some dumb things and we sought counsel for them.. but if I were to hear the shepards we went to discussing us, in this fashion , I’d be hurt and embarrassed . Anyways , all to say, gentle and humble hearts Gal 6:1-2
