I am loving this show! Was super inspired by the Alexi Pappas episode. More Ricki!!!!

I truly enjoyed the first interview with Alexi. Ricki has clearly honed her host skills over her long career. She was able to ask engaging questions and establish connections while keeping the spotlight on her guest and letting her shine. Can’t wait for more!

Ricki has good vibes and a fresh take on life. Can’t wait to dig in to this season and learn a few things!

Kalen complains about stereotypes and racism but then goes on and makes negative generalizations about other races. It’s counter productive to mending race relations. Love Ricki but can’t stand that his racist rants are sponsored and included in the episodes.

Great show, but can you please put your most recent episode first in your line up each week? I’ve stopped listening because it takes too much time to scroll down through the entire catalog to find the most recent episode. ♥️

It’s been decades and she hasn’t lost that magic touch. Ricki is curious, sincere, and intelligent. I’ve been seeking a new podcast to get into and this is the one I’ve settled on listening to from beginning to end over the coming weeks.

This is my high school and college years era ! Ricki was always a show I watched everyday! The Nostalgia of the 90s is so unshakable brings back happy tears to my eyes! I will always support Ricki! Go Ricki!Go Ricki! Go Ricki! Love you Ricki Lake

I would love to hear you interview Paul and Sasha from "community News with Paul and Sasha" who were producing Carnie Wilson, Richard Bey and other day time talk shows when you were making yours and they seem to know half your staffs. It would be great to hear you all and some of your overlap stories together. Their podcast is also really great. Love yours too Rikki. Hope to hear a collab in the future. Five stars for you.

Thank you for this podcast Ricki and Kalen! It’s very entertaining, thoughtful, educational and it feels like we’re all hanging out having a good time reminiscing about your TV show. I used to watch everyday after school back then, it was so much fun!!

I loved the Ricki Lake show when I was a kid, coming home from elementary school. I just couldn’t get enough of her and found all of her movies (absolutely loved Cry-Baby) and now this podcast. I love how her career has grown and listening to her every week is like spending time with the big sister who went off to college. I didn’t know who Kalen was prior to this show, but I love his relationship with Ricki and he really pulls this show together for me. I love his flashbacks for the rewind episodes. Love how he sees everything from a different set of eyes. Kalen, keep it going honey because you’re doing fine and you will be exactly that.

Why does Kalen have to talk in the “black gay voice” all the time? So far the show has had a gay guest on each episode. I see the trend…. I held on as long as I could just unfollowed after Ross Matthew show. The gays have hijacked the Ricki Lake show. I might check back in a few months or so to see if anything has changed. I love you Ricki but this show is too gay for me. Pushy in your face gay.

I’m a Gen-Xer who graduated from high school in the late 90’s; so I was definitely “raised by Ricki”! This is not only a great nostalgia trip, but also a way to reflect on how times have changed (for better and for worse). As a gay kid growing up in rural Texas, this show was definitely one of those cultural touchstones in my formative years. I’m so glad to hear from Ricki again!! (Go Ricki; Go Ricki; Go Ricki…!)

Love you two and I’m enjoying going back a hearing all of this. I was working a lot during this time and could only watch once a week so this is great. Kalen Allen I love you! I’m so happy to see you grow and prosper as you are. Ricki I have always thought you were great. I’m thrilled at how honest you both are. KUDOS

I never missed the Ricki Lake show both the old and new versions. I have been a fan of hers since Hairspray. I would come home turn on her show and felt like I was hanging out with a cool sister. So when I found this podcast I wasn’t disappointed it was like being reunited with a sibling that lived across country. I love also hearing Kalen’s take on old episodes, He seeing it for the first time and his observations give a fresh take on topics that are still relevant today. All in all I never miss an episode and I hope it stays around for a long time to come!

I’m 23 and didn’t really know who Ricki Lake was before listening to this. I knew her name, but didn’t even know she had a talk show. I knew she was in Hairspray, and I feel like I remember her from a couple dieting commercials from my childhood. I love the chemistry between Ricki and Kalen. Kalen adds a nice perspective on how topics seen as acceptable from the 90s can now be problematic. Sometimes I wish he would step in more and really speak his mind. Overall, I love this show, and the recent episode about 90s music and Kalen’s Britney Spears experience was so interesting.

I absolutely LOVE Ricki!! I wasn’t raised by Ricki (25 years old) but I found her in my teens and have been a fan since! Kalen is hilarious and the perfect cohost! I’m so excited to binge the episodes that are already out!

Ricki should be doing this by herself. Let her talk about her life, her show, etc. Kalen adds nothing of value. His over the top affected “I’m a gay black person therefore I should be heard” attitude is a waste of time. This would be a fantastic 90s nostalgia show without his pointless babbling.

The interview with Sally Jessy Raphael was FIRE. 😂 More Sally!! Ricki, your voice is comforting, and it’s a gift to listen to you. Kalen, you won me over this episode. Your voice during the interview with Sally and after was YOU. Hope you keep that authentic vibe going!

I LOVE this podcast!! I was one of those young people raised by Ricki, and it is such a trip down memory lane. The conversation is laid back and welcoming. I wasnt’ sure if I would like Kalen, but he is a nice addition for sure, and offers a different generational perspective. It was an interesting time, and I remember Ricki’s show representing marginalized populations. Which is more meaningful looking back. It is hard to imagine, but there really wasn’t a great deal of representation on television like her show. Was the show a bit over the top at times? Yes. But that was the fun. I would love to hear more about the episodes and maybe even try to find out what happened to the guests. But really, this is just a joy to listen to. For anyone who felt like you and Ricki would be friends if you ever met, this is for you!

I love Ricki, and also love Rosie. Why in the world was that interview so short? Was it even 25 minutes when you take out the intro and the chat time between the hosts afterwards? I just heard Rosie being interviewed on another podcast that was easily 45 minutes which is what we want while driving in traffic.

Everything is great with this podcast but… Kalen doing his voice the way he does cringes through me. Please just speak with your normal tone.

I’m really liking the podcast so far! Like the title says, I was “raised on Rickie.” watched nearly every day after school and loved her youthful energy and the way she interacted with her guests. I always enjoyed her show the best because it was still drama filled and scandalous but it had a big heart! I did not enjoy shows like Jerry Springer where it was all about the fights that got started and nothing but drama. I absolutely love the gusts so far especially John Waters, Rosie O’Donnell and Andy Cohen! Hope to see more celebrity guests on soon. Also enjoy when bringing on guests from past shows. The only negative for me is Kaylan, the cohost. I’m not sure he’s very relevant for this podcast. For one, he wasn’t even alive when the show came out and he wasn’t watching with all of us when it was on. Not sure what he brings to the table and his voice is like nails on a chalkboard. I hope this doesn’t sound mean it’s just my opinion. I’m hoping that a new cohost can be found or just scrap the cohost altogether.

I LOVE LOVE this podcast. I just finished your interview with Rosie….we would not agree on a lot of things but that’s ok. When you listen to someone else’s view that is how you learn and grow. I LOVE ROSIE LOVE HER. Oh and I’m a white Christian woman from Alabama. Love this so much. I can’t say enough!!!!!! A podcast that must be on your list.

I love this show so much! I’m 41 and Ricki was my after school babysitter in the 90s🤣! She’s always sort of felt like a big sister or favorite aunt to me and I’m so happy she’s back on the air. And who doesn’t love Kalen? They are perfect together. Only thing is I am searching everywhere for the video podcast to complete the experience. Please make this a weekly podcast video so I can see y’all’s reactions plus the replay of the Ricki clips💓💓💓

I love this podcast, it takes me back to the 90s when Ricki had her talk show, it seems nice to hear her voice and the guests and the topics are always interesting! I look forward to each episode.

Ricki… where do I start.. I grew up watching you everyday! You were such a part of my life as a teenager. You spoke to us and made all of us feel accepted. When I was in high school a few of my friends was actually a guest. What an experience! Thank you for making this show! You guys are doing an amazing job and I love listening!!

I was literally just thinking about Ricki and (insert doorbell) she popped up on podcasts. I love her voice. Her vibe. Just her. As an 80s baby, this was one of the first shows that I could relate to.

I stumbled upon this podcast and it couldn’t be more perfect for me! I’m a millennial latch key kid who rushed home everyday to watch Ricki Lake. Also I am a huge fan of Kalen and follow all of his social media. These two are hilarious and I love reliving these memories with them!

Growing up watching Ricki & she’s back here today! Awesome! Kaylen is a breathe of fresh air … great job guys!

I was a latchkey kid and grew up on Ricki Lake. I loved her movies. This podcast is great. She tells great stories and her episode with Rosie was perfect. Glad you’re back, Ricki! You’ve been missed.
