LGTC was my gateway drug to An Old Timey Podcast. Naturally, I fell for Norm’s storytelling and sound effects, but my alliance is (and always will be) with Kristin. Norman, do not grow that neck beard. You will look like a chode from the shoulders up. I will be withholding my Patreon membership until you agree to end this charade.

I hate history, but I love listening to this podcast! Norm and Kristin are hilarious. I’m a little obsessed with their sweet relationship and envious of how easily they make each other laugh. I will never admit it to my 7th grade history teacher, but I really enjoy learning about historical characters and events through their lenses!

Kristen and Norm are delightful. Well researched and it keeps my attention whilst scrubbing my house on the weekends. Love the BYE at the end of every episode and would love it more if you brought back Dr.Phil clip too. I can hear about how history really does repeat itself but still chuckle by the end of it. Keep up the good work!

I’ve been down with Kristin (and Norm) since LGTC and was devastated when my favorite podcast ended. However, OTP was born and it does not ever disappoint. I am excited for every deep dive. Kristin and Norm do their research, they listen for mistakes, they look into ideas and take their work seriously. To add humor to such consistently brilliant storytelling is the icing on the cake. Bravo on being my first and second favorite podcasts! ❤️✨

Okay, while that may be a bit extreme, my husband and I have vastly different tastes in podcasts which makes road trips hard. This is the only one we both love! We get to learn and laugh and sometimes even pause it to have our own conversations about the content. Not only are Kristen and Norm excellent researchers, but their delivery and banter is witty and hilarious. If your marriage is on the rocks, give it a listen!

Don’t let the long episodes discourage you, once you start listening you will want them to be longer! Anytime a new episode drops I can’t wait to listen. The hosts have a fantastic dynamic, and they are able to make potentially mundane topics interesting and funny. I would recommend this podcast to anyone wanting to learn about random historical stories while smiling. Thanks Kritsten and Norm, keep it up!

Some people are lonely and need friends, so overvalue the “personality” of podcast hosts. Others lack the attention span to read a book and don’t necessarily have the ability to evaluate the quality of the knowledge provided by a podcast. That’s all understandable. But, even so, it’s still hard to understand why you would listen to this podcast when you could hear actual historians share reliable information on You’re Dead To Me, In Our Time, The Rest is History, etc.?

I was a LONG time listener of Kristin's old decrepit podcast LGTC and when they were ending it, I thought, "There's no way I'll like a podcast as much as this one." And yet here she is, doing it again! This podcast is so good! Kristin brings her hilarious personality to a new type of podcast that is hilarious and super interesting. Everything this woman touches is gold! Norms ok too. Haha jk jk Norm is great! The banter between the two of them is amazing and one of my favorite things is that you can tell how much they care and love each other which is always fun to see! I look forward to this every week! Thanks for doing such a great job!

I started listening to Kristin’s old, decrepit podcast just before the pandemic when I was a freshman in college beginning my journey to my history degree. By the time the podcast turned, I was starting grad school, and Brandi and Kristin were like my super cool aunts who knew all about true crime and womanhood. When they announced the end of LGTC and the beginning of OTP, I was nervous. Would I be interested in the topics? Would I want to listen to a man talk for hours at a time? It turns out that I enjoy listening to Norm and Kristin talk so much that it doesn’t matter if I care about the topic, and I have no issue listening to Norm because, after all, he is just my de facto uncle. Now as I wrap up my masters and begin my PhD, I cannot get enough of OTP. All my love to Kristin, Norm, and Brandi. <3

This podcast is poppin like a BWD (bubble wrapped dolphin, obviously). Grab your pigs and make that butter. No, I’m not having a stroke, those are things a History Ho would know. Seriously, this podcast has quickly moved to the top of my podcast list. Normstin (Kristorm??) never fail to to put me in a good mood and I also learn things about history that make me exclaim, “how did I never learn that in school?!?!” Then I remember I went to public school in South Carolina and I know why. Whether it’s past presidents, celebrities, or old times crimes, OTP never disappoints and just keeps getting better!

I am loving this new iteration of the Caruso’s! You guys are the best! What I love: the funny, sweet, loving and irreverent (at times) banter. I love Norms sound board—so funny! And of course, I always love Kristen’s take on everything—and her voice…best voice in podcasting.

What can I say? I love ‘em! From deep dives to great one-offs, they got you covered! Kristin is the Grace Kelly of podcasting, while Norm is the Gene Kelly: she with her class and he with his panache. Also… I’ve seen some slander about not being researched, but a History Ho ALWAYS cites their sources, so… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Seriously probably my favorite podcast.

I feel like writing this review is like someone looking over your shoulder while typing since Kristin and Norm read these. I’ve lost all ability to write. This podcast is really good and you’ll love it. I wish my brain would let me write a better review because, again, this podcast is really good. Just listen to it, would ya?! This is the best I’ve got.

I’m not in line at Subway because I listened to the LGTC episode about Jared Fogle but If we listen to each other's an Old Timey Podcast you’ll find never too far apart from the context of the historical story being told to you by a non-threatening boy and the Grace Kelly of podcasting.

This show is preposterously under-researched. It’s amazing people will waste their time listening to two people who have no idea what they’re talking about when there are so many reliable, well crafted history pods where you actually learn something.

It’s history! It’s funny! And yeah, you will hear some added context and “leftist ideas” from time to time. Like, Hitler was a farting freak. If that somehow offends you, sashay away.

Ok Sandwich Artist, sure, I’ll buy 3..But while I have you, can I interest you in a HILARIOUS podcast?! I love history and love to laugh so OTP checks my boxes! If you’re looking for Carlin’s Hardcore History please go away…quickly, like run, now..!Scared of silly thoughts and thoughtful opinions from people who have good hearts?! Run, run, run. Don’t look back!! (They’re really not chasing you that fast.) Howeverrr, if you can take crude jokes and bonkers side-stories while hearing thoroughly researched topics, then you will love this. K & N are both so genuinely funny that the vibe of this show feels like hanging out with weirdly super informative friends. Suspiciously informative, now that I think about it.. 😉I love y’all!!

While mildly funny, the in appropriate connotation they add is spot on. If you want your history to bash conservatives and be full of leftist opinions, then this show is for you.

There’s a new sexiest couple in KC, and it’s …Norstin? Their small, independent podcast, An Old Timey Podcast, is guaranteed to make you sexier, smarter, and more fun at family reunions. Seriously, my son is quite the history buff and now I have something to talk to him about. Thanks OTP! And thanks Norstin!

It’s not often I see a podcast that has amassed so many five star ratings so I decided to give it a try. I started with listening to the first episode about John Brown. I like the humor and I really love the history lesson but there’s quite a bit of redundant humor that unnecessarily lengthens the episode. I’m going to keep listening and hopefully it’s going to even out somewhere down the road!

Better than all the rest

Take your normal history lesson, but make it SEXYTIMES! I started out a fan of LGTC and I’ll admit I wasn’t sure I’d like this podcast as much. With true crime stories, I was never as interested in the old timey cases. But I did love the episodes with Norm and loved the dynamic between the two. I first got a little intimidated by the 7 part series on Lucille Ball but once I listened to it… I was obsessed! I thought I’d get bored by that many episodes on one person but I could have listened to 20 more by the end. IM OBSESSED! The grace Kelly of podcasting and up and coming novelist, Kristin and her YouTube husband are the best at making history fun

This show is so great and helps you really understand the history happening. Context! Is great!

1) This is the best podcast. 2)I have told others this fact and now we gossip about the latest episodes and were excited that you got a sponsor. 3) you couldn’t have been more timely when you covered Frances Perkins congrats on gaining psychic ability 4) you missed one big “why?” when you covered the Olympics. You were shocked about incubated babies being at the Fair. Check out Dr Martin Couney and how he used fairs and public curiosity to save lives and change prenatal care forever. 5) The longest line to stand in is Joanne Fabrics.

I’m a fresh ho! I recently came over after hearing about the pod from the Date with Dateline girls. I jumped in with Pocahontas and have been hooked since I heard “like a Dorito in the vag.” It’s so comforting to have found a pod that combines not only my love of history but also the peak of 90’s animation. I have also had “Log” and Goofy Movie songs stuck in my head since 1995.

One thing about An Old Timey Podcast that I love is that you learn a bunch of fascinating facts that you can then bring to parties and sound super smart in front of your family! My fiancé and I have both used this trick and you can too! Listen to An Old Timey Podcast today!

Love this podcast so much! Kristin is a sassy gal full of charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent. Normie C is a sweet, non-threatening boy that balances her out. They’re both hilarious and I swear could make any topic funny and entertaining. I listen to so many podcasts that I usually fall behind bouncing between them all, but this is one of the few that I actually can’t wait until the next one comes out. I had JUST found Let’s Go To Court late in the game but now I’m really enjoying Old Timey! I live in New Bern so I really appreciate the Eastern NC references. The Emu War sucked me in and with its absurdity and there’s no going back now. Just listened to the Pocahontas series and wanted to say thank you thank you thank youuuuu for being proof that history isn’t boring- it’s actually fun, fascinating, hilarious and oftentimes ridiculous and horrible. I love it! P.S. Family lore is that we’re related to Pocahontas (through one of her brothers) and so far the genealogical research seems to support it. Regardless of family ties, thank you for honoring her with the un-Disney version of her life. Her real life story is so much cooler than the fiction.

I came here from LGTC and wasn’t sure at first bc I loved the old pod and Brandi so much but OTP is fantastic! It is incredibly well researched and the storytelling is enjoyable and hilarious. I personally lose interest if there are more than 2 parts for one topic, but I know some other people enjoy that.

I absolutely loved the Lucy episodes I’m a bit old timey myself so I did know much her story but there were things you surprised me with 😃 and I did enjoy your adoration of her as well . You guys are so cute 😊 keep up the good work 👏❤️

I absolutely adore these two. I love watching the video of the episodes on Patreon because I love seeing their chemistry. Not just as husband and wife but as friends and co-hosts. They just really get each others humor and bounce off each other so well. Aside from being obsessed with them, the content of the show is great and I have to shamefully admit I have learned a lot and I have had fun doing it!

So my first experience with this podcast was the Pocahontas Part 1 episode & I had mixed feelings going in. The nearly first 20 minutes was a depressing combination of death, the election & a strange Doritos reference (my heartfelt condolences nonetheless). Then they immediately started hating on a movie that I legitimately enjoy; though I admit that Disney’s Pocahontas is literally just a princess movie dressed in Colonial clothes with no historical value, the songs slap. Then… THEN they finally got into the history part of this history podcast & I was HOOKED. Thoroughly enjoyed it. A+ content, B- opinions. 10/10 would recommend.

Can I get a 6-inch Italian BMT on wheat? Yes, American cheese. Yes, toasted please. Umm, can I do tomatoes, pickles, spinach, banana peppers, and black olives? Oh, and ranch. No chips or drink. Thank you!

I love the banter between Kristin and her most non-threatening Chewy Box shaped husband Normie C! My 13 year old son is loving the history nuggets (more like footlongs) and I come for the jokes. Family friendly even if it’s not intended to be!

This podcast is sigma. The hosts have main character energy. I’ve learned a lot and laughed out loud. They ate and left no crumbs. Have you heard about people taking photos with their dead relatives during the early 1900’s? You should do an episode on that. The photos are so creepy.

I have Alpha Gal Syndrome which means I have an anaphylactic reaction to red meat. But I love these meaty boy episodes so much that I listen to them with my Epi Pen at the ready. Which means a lot considering I’m an American with American healthcare.

As a longtime listener of LGTC, I was going to follow Kristin to whatever her next endeavor would be. I was immediately hooked by Norm and Kristin’s banter, the extensive research, the sound board, and videos!
