    A Complete Masterpiece
This is my second listen through of all seasons. This podcast is truly one of a kind and expertly done. The fact that they started when podcasts weren’t well known or this well produced, shows how special this show is. The story is so freaking good. I love each and every character.. like I actually feel an attachment to these characters.. The sound effects and music is fantastic. The acting is superb. The woman who plays Socks is phenomenal. I love her character so much. Zeff is to die for. Major is hilarious and the voice actor is too top notch too. Hooks, Tommy, Maddie, Tiffia, Dev, Prock.. they are all so well written and acted! I know all good things must come to an end but I don’t know how I will ever say goodbye to this show! It deserves way more attention. I hope each and every person involved with this show is immensely proud of the work they have done and the masterpiece they have created.

My name actually IS Kingery, and I approve this message (show).

    On a Kingery Bender
I started this show at the beginning and at first I was just listening to a few episodes at a time, but then I started to binge on my driving commute and now I’m catching the chance to listen whenever I can. I am addicted to the storyline and the characters of the Family. The acting is nothing but amazing, and I know some day I’m going to catch up to the current episode and will have to slow down to one episode a month - but that’s not today! Must have more!

    Not worth the time
All the characters start acting crazier and crazier and it’s just garbage content.

Too many characters , not enough quality .
Everything ' s rushed , with bare minimum done . They need to stop putting out episodes and spend some time learning how to write . All the voices sound the same ,

A timesink of the best kind
The longevity of this show is really impressive. Over the years it has managed to reinvent itself and keep things fresh. If you want a grand sweeping story with fun and compelling characters this is for you!

    Disappointing
Don’t know why it went on so long. Jumped in the last season. Why did this show make it to ten seasons? Who’s paying to make this?

Started strong, but got worse as it goes on
The first season of the show is maybe the best, but as it goes on, it loses cohesiveness. Listening to the credits, the production team changes enough that it goes through dips and spurts in quality and tone under the changes. Several actors are recast without warning or indications that this is the same character we've been listening to with a new voice. There are no transcripts on their website, and some of the scenes with a lot of noises don't really explain what's going on. Acting's hit or miss, Tommy Arkell's VA starts with a character voice that goes away as the show goes on. Kathryn Pride as Tythia and Perry Whittle as Hooks might be the best of the cast, but you can hear that no one is recording together and some reactions tend to be over the top or muted. Storywise, this show is very much taking cues from HBO with a bit of Sci-fi paint, which isn't a bad thing but it really got out of hand as it went on. It's a Deadwood, but in space with Sopranos characters, and after Game of Thrones comes out, family and house drama. There's not a real depth or planned world, just whatever each writer makes up at the time. A couple characters even have conflicting past details or sudden backstories that aren't set up. There's a lot of attempts to be edgy and risque, which comes off less sexy or raunchy and more like a thirteen-year-old's erotica. It can be funny, but at points, it derailed things for no real purpose. I kept listening because it was a fun indulgence, a sci-fi soap opera with occasional moments, but there's this streak of comedy that starts destroying the tone. Reflecting, it really stopped having my interest after season four, which honestly you could just stay at and it'd be a decent listen. But I kept going until there was a season finale where a main character kills his husband and in-laws in a preemptive strike to prevent them betraying him after spending the season forging an alliance with them by marriage. The betrayal isn't set up at all, and I'd say that it happened because of Game of Thrones's influence. It would have made sense for Cersei to do it, but it was done for shock value, not really in-character, and felt like their marriage was done to queer-bait me so I'd be shocked when the husband dies. I took a break after that, and I've decided to stop listening. It's not really a story that's well-executed, and I'm not really sure why it's gone on this long, or why I kept listening. I don't think it's going anywhere interesting, and it's not saying anything that other shows or stories haven't said better. I've stopped caring about these characters, which is sad because I liked them in the beginning, but things like recasting Devi just chipped away at it, and that finale was really the final straw. I'm not going to finish the show. But, I am going to check out Pendant's other works. There were good moments at the beginning that became less good as it went on, I'm hoping the issues here are more related to the changing staff on this production.

    Love it.
Fun, sexy, and action packed. Show is well produced as it moves on. First episodes are a little rough for audio quality as it started ten years ago. The show is still in active development today and the creators keep everyone up to date on timelines in their TWIP podcast. This is a lovely adult show which hits you in all the feels.

    Well made audio drama.
Just found this while looking for OTR of which I am a fan. Delighted to see the tenacity, spent 10 years hosting and producing a podcast and know how much work it is. Excited to work my way through the archive. Enjoy the writing and how you bring it to life. Keep up the great work.

What if organized crime, but space?
For 11 years and 9 seasons, The Kingery has been one of Pendant’s top programmes, and there’s still more to come! Criminals, space, lotsa larfs and sex, but it also has a heart. Extremely LGBT-inclusive, both with the characters and the cast and crew. It’s never too late to catch up!

    Las Vegas in Space!
I love the concept of SoL vacations, the "mob" ties and just general story. It's fun! IMHO it's still one of Pendant's best since the great purge.

    Brilliant
So proud to have been a part of this show. It's just so brilliant and original. Congrats on almost 8 years worth of a show!
  • This Nickname is taken, please choose another.
    Fun
    Speed it up!!!!

started out really well, now not as good
This podcast started out really well with an intriguing storyline, but lately there is an increase in the foul language that really detracts from the story for me. If it does not improve, I will no longer be able to listen. I don't need to hear a "bad" word every other word for something to be consider explict; that is excessive in my opinion.
  • JoelRowan
You call this place "The Kingery." You got that?
A wonderful thrillride brought to you by some of Pendant's best writers, the show never ceases to entertain, mixing action, drama, plot-twists and more than a little comedy. Fans of mob shows should check this out.
  • megamoo6
    outstanding
This is an excellent podcast, one of Pendant's best. Keep up the good work.
  • aylara
    An intriguing premise
I admit, I was kind of skeptical of some of the promos I heard (a soul vacation? er, SOL?) but man, this is really interesting stuff. It's like the Sopranos on Deep Space Nine. A grittier kind of premise, and some challenging stuff for audio (like the officer who is a guy...hiding in the body of a girl), but you definitely get the picture. Shootouts and thugs and Tommy Arkell holding the whole place together (the Tony Soprano like character)...I honestly can't wait for the next episode.
  • Serafine
    Free, funky, and fun
This is what you'd get if you cross The Sopranos with Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy -- tough talking mobsters, gender-switching cops, technicians dropped into the deep end on their first day, and shoot-outs in an interstellar whorehouse. Engaging performances, intriguing story, amusing, and, best of all, FREE.
