    Good show, but
Jeff really needs to find some taste. He’s constantly doing apologia for the crappiest movies being churned out. He’s never met comic book trash that he didn’t cry tears of joy for.

    Best cinema podcast
Long time listener. This podcast got me through good times and bad times alike. It just helps to listen these guys talk about cinema and all the things they love. Thank you

Captain America: Brave New World and FLOW
Long time listener. Great show as always. I’m happy to see that the show (thanks to Devindra!) finally came around to recognizing the cinematic gem that is FLOW. I hope that Jeff will also get a chance to see it, possibly with his kids.

    Too Bad
Oh so disappointed! Found this podcast and was binging, when about 5 or 6 episodes in, they went on a rant about how they hate republicans, are distraught over Trumps win and look to their 6 year old daughters for wisdom. My god why can’t people keep their political views to themselves. We are not all low testosterone pabs that watch movies and listen to your product. Way to go, unfollow.

    Devindra is always right
Love the show and they always give great impassioned reviews. Devindra is always right, especially on horror.

    Mmhmm. Uh huh. Ah hah.
I like this podcast, but what kinda kills it for me is the “Karen” tone. These guys need to chill on the use of “mmhmm. Uh huh. Ah hah”. Just let each other speak and listen quietly and then respond when it’s your turn to speak. Devendra does it the most. He sounds like a spoiled Karen from the suburbs who is on a weird power trip. You can listen to other speak without making these dumb noises. They’re not even words. Mmhmm. Mmhmm. Mmhmm. Mmhmm.

    Please no politics… otherwise amazing
I enjoy this show… don’t always agree with their reviews and that’s great because it opens my mind. The only negative is that they all feel the need to inject current political commentary into every episode. I agree with their slanted politics (90%) but do I need to hear people talking down to those who don’t follow their ideals? Every-time they bring up politics I feel like turning the podcast off. (I have a few times) I feel for the 60% of listeners who don’t agree with their politics, who are annoyed. This is a film review show… not a political discourse. Please stop the commentary… it’s very amateur. Lead by example! Don’t be the CNN or Fox News of film reviews shows… we come to your show to escape the media bias.

    Obnoxious and Unfocused
I unsubscribed because, as many other recent reviews mention, the political content is smarmy and insufferable. Somehow themes of every single movie or show they review reflects “the recent election” or “the state of the country”. Truly groundbreaking observations. There are so many better film podcasts to listen to including those with left wing views such as Double Toasted.

The Good, the Bad and the Woke
Decent podcast. I enjoy finding out about shows I would enjoy across the myriad of subscription services. Movie dives are interesting enough. The hollow social justice routine coupled with very myopic views is tough to listen too. Good Lord, Jeff is insufferable with huge levels of cringe. His limericks are like that one little kid that told one funny joke, so he runs the same joke into the ground ad nauseam.
  • ghfteddss
    Very leftwing
    Disappointing podcast.
  • LikeABanshee
Great content by sometimes whiny liberals
Very good movie podcast, but wish the cast was more diverse in political feelings. Jeff crying over Trump being elected is laughable. Y’all are brainwashed and will be just fine with a republican president. Stick to the flicks.

    Too much superhero coverage
I have listened to this podcast for years. I liked the intelligent discussions. I end up deleting many episodes now without listening as there is way too much discussion of superhero movies. I don’t understand why they have switched their focus.
  • dandarlin
    Top tier movie podcast
    Funny, thoughtful, and consistent.
  • FilmsforLife
    Cringe fest
Makes no attempt whatsoever to analyze Joker 2 on its terms, except to parrot things already said by others (it’s like a hate train of group think)and make snarky assumptions about the filmmakers. It’s real boring when such a polarizing film doesn’t have at least one dissenting opinion. Also why must Jeff announce his “form of a limerick” line every week. Just do it! For long time listeners it’s cringe and a waste of time.

    Summer movie wager change
Love the summer movie wager but… could you guys wait a month after the summer season ends so the summer movie numbers are set in stone? The numbers you guys are working with are quickly changed by doing it so close to the end of the summer. Any ways love the summer movie wager. Love the things you guys recommend. Alien Romulus made it to number 10 of the summer box office of 2024 and made over 100 million domestic.

    Blink Twice
I think “Blink Twice” is a commentary on tech bros but also athletes, rockstars, social media stars, and what happens to folks with mad money when sex gets reallly boring because it’s thrown in their face 24/7.

    My favorite.
Easily my favorite of the 16 film related podcast I follow. I love these guys!

    Love these guys
Come for the reviews; stay for the vibes. I love the chemistry on this show. It feels like exactly what it is: three friends sitting down for an hour to talk about movies.
  • Polar bear party 8888
    Woman
My favorite thing is when Dave pronounces “women” as “woman.” It’s confusing and amazing.

    One of my favorite podcasts!
    Consistently funny and thoughtful

    Good but not great
I’m happy to listen for good vibes, movies recs and chitchat - however, it takes an hour or sometimes WAY over an hour to get to the actual discussion the episode title references which is a little frustrating sometimes
  • flangeslammer
    it’s so bad :(
increasingly, their whole schtick is just a big ol’ morality play. let me tell you, folks, there could be no more boring and less thought provoking prism to discuss art thru than “oh sir, please, won’t you think of the / my children!”. Example 1,034 - their sad little review of Hit Man on Netflix. don’t let these guys waste your time.
  • bostonstinx
Does Jeff cry at the end of every movie??
Always leaving with tears in his eyes. Endings just make him sad I guess. Dude cried while watching Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny? The Flash? Anyways keep up the tears. 5 stars Bursting into tears again on the Deadpool up. There might be something else going on with these guys.

15 years in and going strong
I’ve been listening to the Filmcast nearly every week since 2008. The chemistry of the hosts feels like a warm hug and I look so very forward to popping on the newest episode every Tuesday on my way home from work and let the world fade away. Honestly they are better than ASMR to my world weary ears each week (and not in a weird way). Thanks guys!!!!

    Stupid limericks and yelling
I can’t listen to this podcast any longer, and the reason is Jeff. I skip over those limericks of his which I find stupid but that’s easy enough to do. However, he can’t seem to go more than 10 seconds without yelling or screeching like a banshee. I am unsubscribing and focusing on Mad About Movies.
  • Vickpark
    My favorite movie podcast!
I’ve been listening to this podcast for years and have always meant to stop by and give a 5 Star Review. Well, here it is! 5 Stars! This is simply put, my favorite movie podcast and my favorite pop culture podcast. The guys have an excellent rapport and hilarious banter. Thank you for the years of entertainment.

    Film Friends
When I had my son I was told something that rang so true: No one tires out a little boy, like another little boy. To spin that on people who work in Entertainment: No one loves talking film more than people who work in film. I’m living proof. I’ve spent my career in Television and Film starting at age 18 and continue to put 10-15 hour days into my craft (currently directing a series on one of the services)… and I can’t get enough. I can’t get enough of listening to people who speak the language. Of people who evaluate the technical as well as the emotion. People who know what shot selection and scene transitions are. People who describe action on screen like waxing poetry… because it is…. It’s visual poetry. I’ve come to count on you three gentlemen to do the heavy legwork my schedule doesn’t allow, and to parcel out the gems I’ll be searching up on the weekend. Your obvious friendship and affection for each other mirrors my group of friends and I love hearing your playful banter, and sometimes serious conversation, as much as the assessments of the day. Just wanted to say thank you for your love of film and always bringing a smile to my face. :) Amber

    Get to the review!
Honestly, I love these guys’ takes on movies. I first saw their stuff on YouTube which cuts right to the part where they review the movie. However, on the podcast, they talk about random other stuff for 1hr+ and only review the movie in the episode title for 20-30min. I don’t mind them starting the episode with some general commentary about other things, but maybe it should be shorter than the content about the actual subject line of the episodes?!? 5 stars to the actual review portion, but sadly only 3 stars overall for all the fluff in the beginning.
  • TeeEh121
    Has become insufferable
If you enjoy insufferable political bias injected into every episode, this is for you. They can’t contain themselves anymore in expressing disdain for anyone that doesn’t align with they’re views. They will go so far as to disparage a western movie with Kevin Costner because a “certain crowd” will like it as they moan and cry about it on their podcast. Crazy to see their group think evolve over the last 5 years. Bye.

Huge fan of everything these guys do!
I have been listening to Jeff, Devindra and Dave for so many years, across all of their various projects. I started listening to Jeff back in the Totally Rad Show days of 2007 (?) and that led me to Devindra and Dave. The Filmcast is by far my favorite series, often helping me identify new shows to watch, which movies to focus on, etc. I love how each host takes a different approach to how they consider movies, often leading to interesting and complex discussions. I also greatly appreciate how they cover all aspects of the viewing experience, including weighing in on any wronging (Film Court), the quality of theaters (FauxMax vs iMax), and even seating positions in the theater. I often wait to hear the spoiler-free review of movies to determine how to best approach seeing the movie, then going to see the movie, and then listening to the second half of the review following it. This is easily my favorite podcast of the week and I am an ardent supporter via Patreon. Money Horse for life!

A great show for every movie buff who cringes a little at the word Cinephile
I have been listening to this podcasts for years at this point, first discovering it while in high school, and cannot understate how great of a listen it is week after week. All three hosts bring in depth and knowledgeable conversation to the weekly review, and the “what we’ve been watching” segments without ever losing the grounded “buds hanging out and catching up” atmosphere that makes it so enjoyable. Keep up the great work!
  • thejooniverse
    Absolute best
Dave, Devindra, and Jeff bring filmic insights, fun banter, and palpable chemistry. The show continues to give me gifts like movie review limericks, inside jokes abound (but not alienate), and CONSISTENCY. These guys absolutely put so much work into it, and their years have added up to a great sit.

Easily the best (current) film review podcast
7 years ago I subscribed to 5 movie podcasts, now I’m down to just this one. Unpretentious and relatively humble (for film critics), these are smart, thoughtful people who clearly enjoy each other’s company and rarely forget to have fun and be entertaining (mostly thanks to resident goofball, Jeff). I find a lot of entertainment analysis/opinion podcasts unappealing because the hosts are either self-absorbed, opinionated blowhards (one extreme) or dull and dry as dirt (the other extreme). I like the Filmcast because (usually) they get the balance right. This is always my first listen when a new episode drops. Even if I have no interest in the films discussed, David, Jeff and Devindra are always fun to hang out with.
  • hucklethecat
    Just an opinion.
I typically enjoy the podcast and have been a follower for a few years now. That said, lately I have taken to skipping Jeff’s commentary as they tend to be rants plus he cries over everything. I don’t mind a man having or showing emotion but he mentions it so often that it now seems phony. That said, Davindra interrupts Jeff frequently because he knows better about everything. It’s really obnoxious. He just needs to hush and let people finish. I get the sense lately too that it is Dave and Davindra here, and then Jeff’s over there. You guys no longer come off as equally contributing cohosts to me. I don’t think Davindra likes Jeff. Perhaps that’s the way it’s always been and I just never noticed. I do enjoy Dave as host and his reviews on this pod, plus some of his other work. Anyway, just my two cents.
  • Bertrand200
    The show has gone downhill
Was listening to old episodes and reminded me that the vibe was so much better. Also Devindra now constantly speaks when someone else is speaking, interrupting them. I would like to hear more from David rather than the others.
  • Black Boy Sheen
David Could Chill Out A Bit…
Would be better if David could take a joke. Would be best if David could stop taking Jeff and Devindra’s jokes and running them into the ground and/or say them louder and unfunnier, as if he came up with it. Typically great takes. Jeff and Devindra are a delight to listen to. Such a shame that David has to be the ringleader of the show.
  • C0dy4Lyfe
One of my all time favorites
I’ve been listening to the Filmcast for a few years now and it’s always a great time. I’ve discovered so many amazing films (and TV shows) through the show and Dave, Devindra and Jeff are thoughtful, interesting, and empathetic personalities. I look forward to the top 10 episode every year, and occasionally try to keep up week-to-week with their reviews.

    My favorite podcast
I’ve only ever listened to one podcast consistently and it’s the Filmcast! Haven’t missed an episode since the review of Thor in 2011. Three thoughtful gents muse on cinema in ways that enrich my life and will yours too! Thanks Dave, Devindra and Jeff!

These guys make a terrible podcast, are you ever going to talk about the movie that you designated day blather on and on and on about all kinds of nonsense, this is a hard and I do mean hard pass
  • lennon2020
    Audio levels issue
Love the show, but I’ve noticed week after week that Jeff’s audio level in particular wavers a lot. Sometimes it sounds like he’s far away from mic, but sometimes he sounds louder than everyone else.
  • jkg101288
Made me a better movie fan
I’ve always loved movies, but have expanded what I see over the years thanks a lot to this crew. Love hearing what they are watching and then their thoughts on the big movies. I don’t always agree and that’s okay. The podcast I most look forward to each week.
