TheFonz74Highly RecommendPod Stallions is a wonderfully geeky and pop culture podcast. I strongly recommend it. Brian and Jason do a great job.

DigbeeeBantha5Nerd comfort food. Eagerly look forward to each episode.

GojiboyA wonderful podcastThough I am not a fan of many of the movies and shows discussed on this podcast, I relate to the hosts deep sense of nostalgia and love hearing them talk about how indelible these early memories are. They have a deep knowledge of all things nerdy and an infectious enthusiasm for the genre. Check out Plaidstallions.com too…you won’t be sorry!

dstrohmengOne of my favorites, but…they’re eager to glorify everything they grew up with, but if they didn’t, they dismiss it, like Star Trek: The Next Generation, the Star Wars prequels, current Doctor Who…

Trip McNeely yeah!Fantastic Show! This program is a lot of fun! Even if you’re not familiar with the particular topic being discussed, the hosts’ infectious enthusiasm for the subject will keep you entertained!

Rockford JayAlways EntertainingPod Stallions always delivers a deep dive on each episode's topic and two different perspectives from the show's hosts - Brian, the mastermind behind the venerable Plaid Stallions website, brings his cool Canadian demeanor and his broad knowledge of all things pop culture and collectible, and Jason, the co-owner of the toy company Bif!Bang!Pow!, brings his trademark enthusiasm and his unique perspective as a television producer and voiceover actor. Together, they create an entertaining, conversational show that isn't afraid to following wherever the topic goes. Recommended.

Warp zone GraphicsNostalgia served at its finestIt’s not often you find 2 experts that can talk eloquently about such a vast array of subjects. It’s just a fantastic show. Toys, movies, cartoons, really anything from the world of classic sci fi, horror and many other genres are represented here with care and respect. They brought up memories for me that I can’t thank them enough for, and thanks to the show I’ve started collecting artifacts of my own youth. Listen and enjoy!

CristominibiruPerfect record until episode 61s messed up Audio on the Superman EpisodeEpisode 61. Great an hour and a half with my favorite Superhero. NOT! I had to hold my phone in my ear to hear Jason then the last 15 mins. Brian. I felt like their was some kinda forced funny boys bromance that I did not want, like I was trying to hear who my mom and then dad were talking to on the phone in the 70s/80s. Jason would give a great comment about Sups and the Brian would scream at the top of lungs YEAH! I just hope my hearing comes back and I don’t get Cansir! Say last sentence in voice of Jackie Gleason cause we ain’t got time for Hush Puppies, we in Hot Puhsuit! Bass turds who messed up this audio need a nice Hawaiian Punch.

Red ListerMarvel fan boys showI’m tired of one-sided of opinions. If we have to follow one type of formula in movies what’s the point of watching movies just re-watch the same movie over and over and over again.

AR121A don’t miss podcastThis is one of the shows in my feed that is a don’t miss. When a new episode pops up, I’m on it. There’s never been an episode I haven’t enjoyed, even if I have no experience with the subject matter. Often enlightening me to something new that I missed out on. Pop culture, toy, super hero and sci-fi junkies-this is a must listen.

Bronk WoodlandLike hanging out with old friendsIf you enjoy reminiscing about the most obscure of obscure pop culture ephemera then this is the right pod cast for you. Jason and Brian have a great chemistry and an impressively deep knowledge on everything from random rack toys and Roddy McDowall to what Davey Jones might have enjoyed eating for breakfast. It's definitely an acquired taste but I personally greatly enjoy listening to the subject matter. It reminds me of the conversations I'd have with my best friend who passed away a few years ago.

Derek BuhrkeOne of my favoritesI highly anticipate every episode. Could listen to these guys talk all day!

Darran_HightNostalgia Infused FuN!!These guys are entertaining and play well off of each other. This is a pod cast that I look forward to more than any other. They bring the past alive with their stories and insider information. We all know that "Knowing is half the battle". The other half is still a mystery, but they may just have the key.

ClubNedRidiculously funThis podcast is a remarkably great mixture of great topics, a fun approach, arcane trivia, and engaging hosts. I can’t believe how much fun I’ve had listening to these podcasts. It is often the case that I already know quite a bit about their topics, but this only helps me feel like I can keep up with their conversation. Otherwise, I pick up on a lot of fun trivia and spend a lot of time going down memory lane with two guys who converse with the same pointed knowledge and off-handed humor as me and my friends do whenever we get together.

newtonnorthGreat With A Few Minor IssuesFirst the good: this is a genuinely fun and enjoyable podcast, hosted by two guys who are clearly passionate about the subject matter. Fans of 70's pop culture will appreciate just how deep down the rabbit hole these two gentlemen go and how much respect they have for their subject matter and for each other. It's nice to hear a podcast that's not just "dude, what's up with you" for 60 minutes and content-wise, this is definitely high calibur. Now the bad: I recognize that these two gentlemen live nowhere near each other and therefore do all their recording over the phone. That's bound to create problems, to be sure. However it might be worth their time to ask a sound engineer for a little advice on this subject, because the balance between the two guys is WAY off. Brian sounds like he's a zillion miles away and Jason sounds like he's screaming right into your ear. I find myself constantly having to turn the sound up to hear Brian, then quickly down again to avoid having my eardrums blown out by Jason. It's not the worst issue for a podcast to face but it's something they might want to look into. And lastly I have to throw in that one minor thing I find just a tad annoying are Jason's endless "jokes." He's not the unfunniest guy on the planet but his jokes always just kinda derail things for a moment or so. Also it's the same joke, over and over; Brian will make a reference to some obscure character from a pop culture TV show or movie and Jason will say something like, "he was first seen in Pride and Prejudice I believe, right?" Then Brian will give a polite laugh and sometimes make a similar joke in return, i.e. ("actually I think it was Wuthering Heights") and the show will continue from there. I'm not suggesting that these guys be humorless but these kind of jokes feel like stuff you say at a party when you run out of conversation. And from what I can tell, conversation is something these two gentlemen never seem to run out of (which is good) so there's no need to resort to time killing throwaway jokes. Or at least not the same joke over and over again. They're just kind of eye roll inducing and I find myself quickly reaching for the little button that fast forwards the show 15 seconds so I can get back to the actual discussion. Rest assured, this is hardly a dealbreaker, just something the hosts might want to think about, if by some (small) chance they ever read these reviews. Regardless, I can't stress enough that content-wise, this is podcasting as it should be; people who are passionate about a subject and who want to share their experiences with that subect, with people who are equally interested. I hope these folks keep up the good work. For fans of 70's stuff, this podcast is solid gold.

MDHiTunessweet nostalgiaIf you’re a child of the 70s and 80s (maybe even a little 90s from time to time) this is a great show for you. Toy and pop culture topics from the Best Time Ever.

Mommy's Music UR WELCOMEMy favorite podcast!!Great job as usual guys. I loved all the shows and especially the starlog one. Please do an episode on the Heroes World store from the 70s. My Mom ordered many a Mego from that store. It was also the first time i had to deal with not getting the figure I wanted and having an alternate sent in its place. Can I suggest more episodes on battle of the planets and Star Wars? How about V or Superman the movie ? Keep up the GREAT work. I just wish the shows were more frequent and LONGER. I look forward to the casts the way I did going to the newstand and picking up the new Starlog or Fantastic Films when I was 11 in 1981. Take care.

Jhunt5440Great show! This show is a joy to listen to. It's a fun trip down memory lane. Thanks for putting together such a great show.

SsalugaMy favorite podcast!!Jason and Brian, thank you!!! I swear that you guys are in my head. Never have I had two people think more like I do. You know the things that I know. Listening to the show is like listening to my best friends talk about stuff I love. Every episode is pure magic and really brings my childhood back. I thought I was the only one who knew of the things to talk about. Keep up the awesome work!!!

StormspeedFantastic discussions! This is a great podcast with very deep discussions about a specific era of time in pop culture. The two hosts have a great chemistry and a thorough knowledge of the topics. Their ability to recall facts about the time paints a picture that either helps me recall what I was doing at the time or makes me feel like I was part of the time if it predates me. This is a must-listen upon seeing that there is a new show in my feed. If you want to listen to deep, deep conversations about sci-fi, super heroes and collecting (not just surface level stuff like a lot of podcasts out there), then this is one I can't recommend enough!

namtab29A blast!More fun than a parachuting Captain Kirk, POD STALLIONS is a very fun show all about obscure toys and toy collecting. It's not for everyone, but if you're a toy fan like myself than this show is a blast and the only thing I don't like about it is it only comes out once a month!
