    Liberal Bias Shows
Every episode is based off a liberal point of view.
  • Olives&Feta
    Let the guests talk
Suggest letting guests do more of the talking. Great show and guests otherwise.
  • MAMCG53

Once again, what could have been a far more interesting interview was greatly diminished by Barry’s infatuation with the sound of his own voice. Let the guests finish their thoughts.
  • WSListener
Please stop interrupting guest-Ed Hyman is brilliant and we want to hear him talk
To the host, stop talking so much. Ed Hyman is such a brilliant and humble guest and the interruptions diminish the interview

    Left wing media
Most of the guest and host have a left wing political view. DEI, ESG. Garbage. It’s funny to hear the episode on stock pickings and the guest says Buffet isn’t a good stock picker, he then says retail investors shouldn’t buy individual stocks. They should just buy s/p 500 index. His clients should listen to this message, take their money out of his fund and put it in the index.

    “That’s interesting”
Sometimes extremely insightful conversations. Sometimes he and his guests go far to deep into rabbit holes on topics of little interest to listeners (I.e. people’s personal history). Host MUST STOP SAYING “THAT’S INTERESTING” EVERY TIME THE GUEST MAKES A STATEMENT!

    Really Good
I love Barry’s take. Really interesting.

    Fees really matter!
Went to listen to my first episode but it’s a paid episode! Yes, fees do a matter in a time of financial difficulties for many Americans!

The guests are good but Barry….
Please stop saying “huh, hmm, that’s interesting” after every response. Ur killing me!

    Rude host - can’t listen
I tried this podcast and made it through an episode and a half. The host comes across as a know it all and constantly interrupts. The worst was listening to Bethany McLean start desperately trying to talk over him, raise her voice, and talk faster to try to make her points. It’s clearly more than just a problem with women guests, but it certainly reads as familiarly sexist to women used to fighting to be heard. I can’t listen to this.
  • Bad Advuse
    Actually I can’t listen.
The host talks more than the guest. Very annoying.Poor Michael Lewis. Always interrupted.

Great podcast if guests are allowed to speak
Great guests but host talks too much.

    Top Shelf Roster
Very high-quality guest roster. I have particularly enjoyed the female guests (just finished Ilana Weinstein). These are the best of the best business minds and it's educational to hear how eloquently they are able to express complex ideas. Sure, Barry is a bit self-assured, but I like him and he's very knowledgeable. He's "likable enough," to borrow Obama's ol' zinger.
  • drshakal
    Interview skills terrible.
Why have a guest if you constantly interrupt? Let Gretchen Morrison talk about her book her experience from before you were born

    Good Financial Podcast
This is a pretty good podcast. Lots of interesting guests, lots of interesting topics. Host has a tendency to talk over the top of his guests though.

    Awful ads
Loud awful ads out of nowhere. 5 minutes of ads for every 10 minutes of content interspersed throughout.
  • Rose_Colored_Mirror
Barry too arrogant to listen to, keeps interrupting guests
Show gets some greats guests, super interesting topics, but cannot stand Barry. That guy is rude and pompous. He interrupts almost every single guests to interject with his own thoughts and opinions. I don’t care what Barry thinks and I hate how he’s always trying to finding other people’s sentences. Shut up, Barry, and let your guests talk. His “very interesting” replies are so insincere. Please fire Barry and find a new, polite host.

Barry please stop interrupting the guests… this used to be one of my favorite podcasts however the constant interrupting / lack of thought provoking questions has made even having the best guests hard to listen to.

    The ads are non stop
Ads are out of hand everywhere. The upside is that i have gone back to listening to more music and less podcasts. Music is better for the soul anyway.
  • apptestergeneral
    Good but…
    Way too many ads.
  • Haig Nahabed
    Hmm interesting
    That’s fascinating. Great guests.
  • BBG_Phd
    Quite interesting
A previous commenter pointed it out and now I’m amazed at how often this phrase is uttered. Anyone else think it’s weird Barry spends 3-4 mins introducing the podcast guess twice every episode?
  • zkimball1245
Advertising out of hand- otherwise solid podcast
Once upon a time this was a 5-star podcast, but the frequency of mid-pod ads is shocking and unparalleled

    Too Many Commercials
I’ve been a fan for a long time. This is probably the first podcast I’ve subscribed to over the years. However, most of the podcasts are getting longer with either too many commercials or too much fluff. The number of commercials interrupting interesting conversations is getting irritating. I never minded the biographical information at the beginning and the shtick at the end but combined with the number of commercials, I find myself fast forwarding all too often.
  • sonnysoni
    Good content but annoying ads
Love this podcast and the guests they bring. But the ads are annoying and each episode has 5 segments of unannounced, loud ads. Also the sound engineering is poor - breathing and the noise level varies throughout the episode.
  • Uchchchchch
Potential from quality of the guests is squandered
Constant interruption from host. Incredibly frequent response from host that guest’s comment was “really interesting” or “fascinating”. Lack of institutional knowledge required to ask a follow up question. Opening intro seems to be done on the fly with no prep at all. And can every guest be “extra special”?
  • LouStem
    Great Content, REALLY Irritating Advertising
Interviews are intelligent and thought-provoking, but recent trend of lots more ads intrusively and recklessly placed has REALLY lowered the pleasure of listening. Most recent episode (equity strategist Adam Parker), with very interesting opinions about the stock market, was delivered OVER A MONTH after recording, rendering the opinions outdated and less useful. Bloomberg should use the money from all these jarring ads for better audio production (more careful ad placement with transitions in and out; faster program delivery).
  • Jeff Pew
    Huh, very interesting…
Does Barry Ritholz have ANYTHING to say besides, “Huh, very interesting.” after his guests answer one of his questions?
  • no vuelvo a volaris
    Too long
Each chapter is too long. Always over an hour. Who has time?
  • walnut rain
    Loud and startling advertisement
Good show, good host, credible guests, interesting topics. The extra loud advertisements ruined it. They were sudden and extra loud. Very startling and unpleasant.
  • App Store Bob
    Fantastic but…
Barry’s fantastic but like the prior reviewer noted wth is up with the noise blast of the commercials. Barry do something about this, listen to these with headset and you’ll hear what we mean. Otherwise this would be a 5. The content is perfect including the deviations into whatever. People who don’t get that have obviously never had a conversation with a person.
  • joelob
    Need a new sound engineer
Great content but very poor control with sound control. The main radio podcast is always recorded at a higher volume level. The podcast only Portion at a lower volume. Impossible to listen to part 2 with background noise even with the volume on high. In addition, the volume goes up and down within each segment. I subscribe to 8 podcasts. This is the only one with this problem. It’s not my device or my hearing! Also - the advertisements come on VERY LOUD.
  • CoCo16
Someone teach this man to mute a mic
Listened to the podcast because I was interested in Barry’s guest, but have to say that the distraction of the host’s constant breathing into his microphone for the entire interview was nearly unbearable. Bro, mute.
  • Phxchn
    Have a suggestion
I like the show in general. But the loud advertisement starts without warning and it is potentially dangerous to the ears as we listen using headset. I would suggest to add a sound or tone before starting the advertisement and this way we can reduce the volume before the loud advertisement starts. Thanks.
  • Mikeyr00r00
    Great show
Love the show. Great guests, and Barry is knowledgeable and asks great questions, even if they’re tough. He pushes back on weak or unsatisfying responses. My only gripe with the show is that you can tell virtually every guest is a student of How to Win Friends and Influence People. The number of times they say Barry’s name drives me crazy!

Content - amazing; audio mixing- lack luster
Barry brings on fascinating guests and has interesting and insightful conversations with them. This would be a 5-star podcast but the audio mixing and commercials are awful. I swear the audio engineer just sneezes and puts in the ads anywhere. It comes off as amateur and distracts from the conversation.
  • vsh000
    Love these but…
Every episode has been tremendously insightful. But often someone is clicking their mouse away or typing abvasively when the guest is speaking, which is distracting especially more if you are listening on your airpods.

    Systemic Racism
I jumped on this platform to “learn/strengthen” my financial knowledge, and I come across this ignorant subject, I find this offensive and weak. People now a days attempt and used this topic of racism as a crutch to boost their platforms. Many have fallen for this rediric and continue to make it an issue, but as a minority myself find it offensive that it continues to be used as a crutch. I’m a minority and am not oppressed, I set my own limits and so should everyone else. Move along.
  • Otto Ott
    Voice level varies
I listened to the July 30 episode with Ms Dean. Great conversation, until it got into the weeds about Star Wars movies. I played it through my car stereo and the sound levels were horrible. First Barry was low and Dean was loud, then at some point, Barry was loud (incredulous that she didn’t know Michael Lewis wrote The Blind Side) and Dean grew quite.
  • ScooterA768
    Excellent show!
Love this podcast. Barry is an excellent interviewer and sets a wonderful tone to the discussion. Very informative and always very interesting.
  • Xpolots87
Less than 2 minutes in: “systemic racism”
It’s unbelievable how pervasively CRT and the left have taken over virtually every avenue of entertainment. I came here to learn about economics, NOT to be indoctrinated!
