    Hands Down Best Recovery Podcast
This is only my second time ever writing a podcast review, but this podcast is too good not to share its amazingness! As someone who has struggled with an eating disorder since a young age, found solid recovery for 9ish years, but now find myself again in the eating disorder's nasty grasp, the Recovery Warriors podcast collection is like a salve to my soul. I’ve been making my way through the available episodes oldest (2/10/22) to newest, and am sad I’ll be caught up within the next few weeks and will have to wait patiently for new episodes. Jessica has an INCREDIBLE gift of speaking to a large podcast audience with varied lived experiences, yet somehow making it extremely relatable and helpful, no matter what stage of recovery you are in. She is so kind and understanding of the struggle, while giving hope that it’s not just possible, but worth it to find lasting recovery. The Equipped to Recover episodes with Kristina I’ve listened to so far (there’s a lot more I’m looking forward to getting to) and equally incredible and give me so much hope. The lessons and actionable steps from each episode are like gems of wisdom that have helped me momentously as I navigate the process of recovery. So many of the phrases and little nuggets they share are “aha moments” that stick in my brain, and truly help me see things in a different way, shift my thought process, and fight back against the eating disorder. Some of the episodes have also been great to share with loved ones to help them better understand the struggle, and how to best be supportive. I cannot thank Jessica enough for creating the Recovery Warriors company, and for everything you do to make this free podcast available. I will forever be grateful to everyone who makes this possible. Everyone, eating disorder history or not, should listen to this podcast.

So relatable for someone going through or in recovery!
Wow I just can’t across this podcast and listened to my first episode today on “The Power of Words” and it resonated so deeply! It was both relatable, enlightening and educational. It put words to experiences I’ve had and never heard talked about before related to anxiety and dating through the lens of ED recovery. I really liked the format of the episode I listened to even though it was noted that is different from the usual format. Excited to listen to more episodes!

    Changed My Life
This podcast was my first introduction to Recovery Warriors. It led me to using the website to find a therapist near me who specializes in eating disorders, anxiety, and depression. RW has nudged me down the path of healing in so many ways. I am eternally grateful to Jessica Flint’s commitment to helping others overcome their eating disorders. Can’t recommend this resource enough.

    Hoping
I am 51 and have had an eating disorder since I was 12. Recently my therapist had to drop me as a client due to location. She is unable to see me as I live in CA and she in another state due to licensing. I am hoping to find or listen to others whom feel the hideousness of this disease. I now weigh more that I ever have and cannot function because of what the scale says to me. Hoping to find some light in these podcasts.

    Blessings!
I loved the power of words and advice of dating. I resonated so hard with your experiences and honestly it was healing simply knowing I’m not alone in this path from left to right channel. Your vulnerability is inspiring and your voice is so soothing! I loved the journal entry approach as well. I’m hoping for new episodes! What’s up with that? :)

    So inspiring
Wheter you have an eating disorder or not, this show will still inspire you around all things body positivity, loving the skin you're in & reconnecting to your core - not all the diet culture crap that's influenced us along the way. So grateful this exists, Jessica!

    More than it seems....
I don’t have an eating disorder, but I definitely have issues with body image, depression, self loathing, and have always fallen to the diet culture phenomena. Self harm is always on the back burner. Yesterday morning was one of those days. I woke up, just think how badly I hate my body (I’m a mom of three and my oldest is graduating, which means, pictures!” I actually thought to myself “HEY, you just take the pictures, just don’t be in them” My child is graduating, and I’m terrified of being seen with some extra weight I have put on over the past 18 months. Vanity? Maybe. I think it’s deeper. I decided to get up and go for a walk. Tears in my eyes when I see my body in the mirror and feel shame for how I look. I covered my body making sure no lumps or bumps are too “out there” and head out the door. I usually listen to funny/comedians podcasts or true crime. But I was too vulnerable for that. So I went to Recovery Warrior. Hearing a kind voice, listening to her interviews, just literally resets me. It brings me out of my funk, gives me a more positive outlook, and helps me forgive myself for the hurtful things I say a do to my body. I think this podcast is so much more than just about Eating Disorders. It helps on so many issues that women face. By the end of my walk, I was feeling so much better. Please keep it up Jessica. You are a hero to many women.

Intuitive Eating is imperative to Recocery
Thank you for this podcast! Would love more episodes on intuitive eating. As one who’s had BED, I don’t see how my recovery can “stick” and be long lasting without learning and practicing intuitive eating.
  • Bailee_99
    Extremely Helpful!
Thank you so much for this amazing podcast show. I just came across this over the weekend and now it is my favorite to listen too. I struggle with intense binge eating and I wanted to recover without going to rehab so this has been really helpful so far. You’re the best thank you for all your sharing!
  • lgk52886
    Thank you!
Just started listening to you and have found your unique voice on ED recovery to REALLY resonate with me. I am so grateful. I just listened to the first narrative episode you did, not sure if there have been more, and even though I’ve been in a relationship for years, it spoke to me so clearly, like I was right there with you. Thank you, again.

    Best podcast I’ve heard
Words can’t even describe how much this podcast means to me. It’s amazing to listen to. I just started listening in the last couple of months and listening to all the inspiring stories and getting all the recommendations for different resources has been so helpful in my journey through relapsing behavior. There aren’t enough hours in the day for me to listen and take in everything that this show has to offer.

    Mandy Harper loves you!
This show is so amazing! I’m in the fourth year of my journey against anorexia. I’m still working on it but when I’m feeling down this podcast reminds me that I’m not alone and that I can do this. Thank you Jess for being so honest. This is a such a great thing. I’ve told my DBT group and treatment team about it also. Love you all. I would love to chat with you sometime. I am currently attempting to pursue my doctorate in psychology so I can become a specialist. My dream is to combine my love for drama and therapy. I would love to be a drama therapist and work with NEDA in some way. Thanks for the inspiration!! - Mandy Harper
