I understand not wanting to do play modern anymore but don’t market to modern players and then talk about artisan commander and magic news. I came for metagame deep dives and deck techs and instead I get commander content. Just change the name.

You insinuated that people who don’t get vaccinated are bad people by saying things like, “Screw them. We don’t need them,” and implying that kids have to get vaccinated or face alienation. Combine that with you moving further away from consistent modern content; hard pass. I understand wanting to speak your own views on your own show. Freedom is great. It’s one thing if you said that people should be free to make their own decision and WOTC can choose their own prerequisites. I could get behind that a lot more. But by saying everything but unvaccinated people are bad people, I’m out.

Later episodes have moved really far away from actually talking about modern and when they do they don’t really know what they’re talking about especially in a competitive sense

This used to be my go to for Modern content but they no longer go over it. They should probably change the name of the podcast.

So overall the podcast is pretty good. As a new listener, i feel like quite a bit of the recent content is not focused on modern, but rather the general news in the magic community. I think the podcast space is large enough where people (at least speaking for myself) desire niche areas like specifically modern. Do i care if teferi is banned in standard? Do i care about historic? Well i do, but i dont tune into a podcast specifically for modern to find that info. To provide some constructive feedback, play to your niche. I would love to see weekly metagame updates to the format and interviews with skilled players rather than hear about BnRs to a format that the podcast isnt about (ive been listening to the older shows because this was the case before). Thanks for what you do! Im a subscriber and ive added this to my weekly podcast rotation.

These people don’t know how to produce a podcast and they do not play modern.

I love it! I listen to it every week. Very current and interesting.

2/3 hosts almost certainly do not play modern. Maybe Marshall does since alotta times he’s the only one that has a clue about cards or synergies. It’s definitely not a passion project. Prep clearly isn’t there, chemistry is medium at best. Been going downhill for a good while. Feels genuinely that modern is the last format these dudes play, and they’re trapped doing a podcast on the format since that’s what they started on.

The two main gripes I have are all the self-promotions/ads and Alex being condescending and annoying. If all of his “insights” into modern were always correct than he’d be too busy top eighting GP’s instead of hosting.

Love the banter between all the host and they bring up interesting ideas, jank ( Myr Superion will work at some point!!) and meta approved. Keep up the good work!

This show has turned into a A LOT of ads. They also go off topic quite often and don’t seem to keep up with the modern format very religiously. Michael is the best person on this podcast, he offers up very relevant information and actual good ideas. TLDR: if you don’t mind ads and aren’t trying to be super competitive in MTG, this is an interesting podcast but misleading.

Consistently 10%-15% of the total run time is devoted to the hosts pushing their Twitter, YouTube, patreon, partners, and canned ads that interrupt the content in mid-sentence. Content, once they get to it, is not super well informed, but usually engaging. I’ve been a subscriber for some time now and the hosts have always devoted too much time to shilling themselves and their partners, but the uptick over the last several months, the addition of advertising, and now live promotion of paid YouTube comments just broke me. I know this is a hustle, but there are better ways.

Great show, don’t mind the ads, but do mind that they interrupt the show in the middle of someone’s sentence.

I feel like more and more as I get better at magic that the hosts don’t really play much modern at all; most of their opinions and thoughts aren’t really backed by much, and they don’t really offer any good reasons for them. In fact I’m afraid newer players will heed their advice about what decks are good, when really it doesn’t feel like they know at all what they’re talking about.

Super useful and definitely helped my game and after a couple weeks not playing modern it definitely helps to know the current modern meta!

Show is good. But not a fan of the recent increase in random advertisements that occur during the show.

If I hear anything about Superior Burning Coco or Myr Superion, I turn this crap off immediately. Listen to Arena Decklists podcast’s modern episodes for actual competitive discussion.

Great show love the content but the volume is very inconsistent. My headphones are maxed out and I still have trouble listening to certain portions and then someone’s mic will be fine and rupture my ear drums.

Really enjoy the content but the podcast ends in the middle of sentences. There are cuts that repeat the same sentences see 11:20 left in the live show they repeat entire points twice. Would be a five if there editor was any good.

Really sub par magic podcast. You would need to borrow someone else’s hands to keep count of all the incorrect statements that are made in any given episode. This is not for anyone who wants to improve at magic or be competitive in any way.

The first episode I listened to started with 8 minutes of straight adds.

I like that this is just (mostly) modern content. So much standard content out there I like that this cast is focused and actually good content.

Been listening to these guys for a couple years now and they are the best dedicated Modern MTG podcast, bar none. I liked them so much that I volunteered my data collection I was already doing for my personal use to give them a more regular, collected data point of Modern info weekly. Great guys and their podcast has spawned a huge FB group too. Pretty crazy. Check it out!

Great production, sound quality, hosts are funny and have good banter... Neither are particularly good at modern. Look to other casts for actual “level up” content, listen to these guys the same way you would a guy trying to figure out how to make slivers viable.

One of the best Modern focused podcasts for MtG and extremely entertaining as well!

I’m grateful for all that they do to keep improving this show. I love magic content in general and this is one of the things I look forward to the most.

If you like modern just listen. Trust me it’s good.

This and The Command Zone are great podcasts for beginners and vets alike for the game we all love.

Seems like every episode Ben and Alex talk less and less about modern. Really wish they would talk about competitive modern like it says in the description more often.

I always look forward to each weeks episode. Lots of insights about modern and awesome personalities to go along with them. Highly recommended.

This is awesome and hilarious. Also, these guys just have great content in general and there content has made me a better player and gotten me to follow the format. They’re cool and good, take a listen.

I really like the show. I especially like when they talk about what’s happening right now in modern and the meta game I find it really helpful.
