All my roommate does is talk about this podcast
I swear my roommate is a talking advertisement for these guys. They podcast is pretty good and even though I’ve never touched a drum set before it’s a good listen. But my roommate idolizes Matthew Crouse, you’d think Matthew is his dad or something. Any ways, cool dudes cool podcast. My roommate is just weird.

Stick to the drumming not the arm
I always enjoy the podcast usually no matter who is on. Ill learn a tid-bit if info from every episode. Also all drummers seem cool at any age or music style and willing to talk about anything. But please don’t beg me to get an experimental vaccine, it kills the vibe bro.

    Hooked Right Away w/ Episode # 259!
Great hosts/interviewer. I was immediately hooked in episode #259 (interview with Matt Brennan), once they touch upon the historic, symbolic nature of the drum in both “slavery” and “conquest” and how the drum was linked pejoratively to subhuman culture. Ringo Starr and the Ludwig decal on his bass drum... the brief discussion about the cowbell and a reference to Blue Öyster Cult... the relationship between drummer and manufacturer....all great and valuable info. What’s great is I listened to your episode right on top of a Drumming History (history of the trap set) podcast, so your episode fell serendipitously in line with this one. I’m really looking forward to other episodes.

    Entertaining for Hobbyists
I play drums in my basement for my own entertainment, and so I am not trying to develop a professional career. But I find Working Drummer to be an entertaining, informative, and funny look at the music industry. It's cool to learn about the work and life of professional drummers, and get insights into some of my favorite artists. Keep up the great work!

Very Insightful for Drummers / Musicians
Zack and Matt are great hosts who ask insightful and thoughtful questions because they are full time working drummers themselves. Both hosts seem to have different backgrounds, musical experiences, contacts, and live in different cities, which provides a nice variey of guests and topics.

This podcast is absolutely fantastic! I began listening from the beginning and I have benefitted from EACH podcast in some way! That’s not hyperbole: I learn something about the music business, gear, recording, live work, emotional stamina needed to succeed, etc. Most importantly, it challenges me to keep moving forward on my own music career/journey! I truly encourage you to give this podcast a spin! Thanks for these interviews, Matt and Zack!

    Valuable!! No, Really!!
solid interviews with knowledgeable players. A good podcast is based on passion, knowledge, an interesting rolodex, and an ability to get people to talk. The crew at Working Drummer brings this to the table. There are hundreds of skilled drummers out there, Working Drummer provides us with an introduction to these players, priceless!!

    Great content!
Matt always asks great questions steering clear of gear conversation and more of things we usually don't hear in interviews. There's usually a good tip and always good insight to being a touring drummer as well as a local working drummer. This is also a great way to find out about drummers you have not heard before and are touring to places like India or Egypt or just all over the world!

    In depth interview
I came across the podcast through youtube (my son and I were watching Rich Redmond clips). I've really enjoyed learning what it's really like to be a professional drummer - the struggles, the stories, and the insights they share for how to play better and increase your chances for success. Thumbs up to Crouse for this podcast.

    Fabulous Drummer-centric Podcast
I love hearing these (mostly Nashville-based) professional drummers talking about their craft and the realities of the music business in the current Digital Era. Matthew does a great job pulling the information out of these unsung heroes that you’d like to know to improve your own ‘game” as a working player.

THE must-listen-to podcast for the Working Drummer
I’ve learned SO much from listening to WDP. So much more in depth than the magazines currently out. I LOVED the Kevin Murphy podcast! I’ve been binge listening to catch up. I’m almost there. Do you think you’ll do an interview with Lester Estelle?
  • Austinht
    SOLID
What makes this podcast outstanding is the approach. He’s not interviewing superstars, but the solid core of musicians who are putting in the hard work. It’s great for hobbyists but especially applicable to those who are working as a drummer or aspiring to do so. SUBSCRIBE!!!
  • Prodrumguy

    Insightful
I’ve checked out 4 other Drum Related Podcasts and Working Drummer is easily me favorite. Matthew does a great job of asking questions one might ask these working drummers and steers the conversation in a good direction every time. I’ve actually enjoyed this Podcast more than others with bigger Names being interviewed. Kevin Murphy episode is so good!
