3337108/20 high stakes chip warSounds to me like US chip makers can’t compete in the global marketplace. I expect more government funding( tax payer dollars), regulations (higher priced union mandates), and more government intervention in the free market all creating more market inefficiencies hastening the demise of the US chip to space along side US steel manufacturers and railroads.

SAARKÉSHSelective Analysis at BestQuite disappointed to hear the Tax analysis episode with no references or acknowledgement of the Tax loopholes designed to provide sustained advantage to certain classes and careers in this country, causing immense inequality and demoralization in the society. Total waste of time with no value offered!

SigmaDave_2000Great DiscussionsNice to here thoughtful conversation and analysis.

dennis.karpfDennisSomber and balanced economic perspective on global geopolitics. Interviews are clear and insightful. Guests are well chosen and informative. Keep up the fine work.

SaturnCassiniGreat series with many space topics coveredThe host is a technological optimistic with a deep interest in space exploration and exploitation, and has been featuring informative guests on the topic. Teeny tiny note that some others have mentioned: the music is louder than the audio. Voice quality on every episode I've listened to is excellent. Two thumbs up!

HelpAsNeededI like podcast but please correct…Please correct #249 with Ed Glaeser—the pod only plays questions, not answers!

MisterE8Great podcast, bad micI love the no-nonsense, direct, and impartial approach, but I really don’t like your microphone. If not for that 5 stars

SAARKESHAsking all the right questionsDefinitely the best set of questions covering broad influential components of modern economy by the host. Where it’s short is reaching any meaningful answers or enlightenment so you are left a bit frustrated feeling incomplete 🤨

DN4486Unfair, biased, and one-sidedThey are not real economists and have an agenda.
-
JMNCIn depth conversationsI enjoy the focus on a topic and interesting interviews. Well done!
-
mikemtgyJim Pethokoukis does a great jobExcellent podcast covering a range of topics, in depth. Great exposure to new and interesting ideas and people. Agree that the production at the end could be improved; music covers end comments and is too loud.

Econ Joe.Integrity? With a captive audience it seems a giant lack of integrity to introduce a theory of economics and only interview someone who is opposed to that theory. Listen to Planet Money's episode 685 I think? They do a much better job explaining this.

Goober McGuillicuttyJust subscribe to FT or somethingThe recent MMT episode was such a bad-faith exercise in knocking down straw men that I unsubscribed. (I’m not an economist or in the MMT camp, but I’m familiar with the arguments and felt kind-of cheated by the way they chose to misrepresent them.) If you want to learn about something maybe don’t incite a guy on who has just like read a book once?

PavligaExcellent podcast... one complaintThe podcast is among the most informative, thoughtful discussion format shows available. My only complaint is that every episode ends with the extremely rude playing of music over the guest’s closing statements. The music, rock from the 1980s, gets louder and louder until it’s difficult to make out what the guest is saying. It reminds me of how television awards shows play music as a signal to the award recipient to shut up and move off stage. It’s particularly jarring in a podcast since there is no obvious time constraint. Each episode runs for a different amount of time as it is. So it’s hard to see what the show gains by drowning out its guest speaker and rushing them off the digital stage.

ReitveldGreat podcastI look forward to this podcast. They have good analysis, and breakdown complex issues into easy to understand segments. This Podcast is professionally produced... Meaning it has a consistent volume level, and it's easy to listen to both in my car and with your phones.
