    Love this podcast!!
Star Wars Prototypes and Productions isn’t only my favorite of all Star Wars podcasts, it’s my favorite podcast of all time. Host David Quinn does an outstanding job exploring our hobby (both vintage and modern) with a plethora of knowledgeable guests. Guests include fellow collectors, friends from various collecting groups and even at times Kenner designers. Dave combines great writing with witty humor, and comes up with fun and unique topics. Listeners can learn about the collectibles themselves, Star Wars history, deep dives on the new Disney releases, and first class reporting from collectors’ events and local toy shows. The format is relaxed and inclusive….whether you’ve been collecting for one week, forty years, formerly collect, or blew apart Luke Skywalker with fireworks as a kid**, then this podcast is for you! **shame on you if you blew apart your Star Wars toys with fireworks ;)

Oh my gosh, where has this podcast been on my life?!? When I listened to my first one, I ended up binging six more. Incredible content and the narrators savory tone would rival Lando whispering sweet nothings in your ear. If you’re a Star Wars fan or a collector, this is a must! Keep up the incredible work!

Great resource for Star Wars collecting and beyond.
David’s podcast is a great, informative listen. It has a focus on Star Wars collecting, but goes beyond into an overall celebration of the saga in general. Great delivery, awesome production and editing, a nice relaxing listen. My personal favorite elements are the interviews, collecting/hunting stories, and history lessons about the Kenner line.

    Great host, great podcast
This podcast is a journey through all aspects of Star Wars collecting, explaining the process from the concept phase of a collectible to the production piece of the item for both vintage and modern Star Wars collectibles. But the podcast goes above and beyond that description. David, whose pleasant voice is incredible easy to listen to, will make an episode about Star Wars itself, for instance, a three-part episode outlining the history of the Darksaber from the Clone Wars to the Mandalorian was a true highlight of the first third of the run of the podcast. Through the podcast, you will attend toy shows with David, and hear from other collectors who give a rich, full picture of collecting. The podcast is a true celebration of the people in the collecting world and it’s wonderful to see what they all mean to one another and the strong bonds they’ve formed through collecting. Very well researched, the show is filled with interesting facts and is truly a place to learn about Star Wars and Star Wars collecting. The half includes soundbites and music from the movies. This podcast is truly something special.

An amazing podcast for fans of collecting Star Wars
I am truly impressed with this podcast. Not only does it have terrific production values, but the host puts his heart and soul into every episode. He shares about his personal journey as a collector, but also brings on board many guests to share their experiences. I feel like I’ve found a community of fans to join by listening, and am excited to keep making more connections. Finally, I really appreciate how diverse the topics are. One episode might be devoted to stories about finding a decades old plastic treasures, while another might be about the behind-the-scenes goings on involved with a Star Wars TV show, while another might explore the details of a current live event such as Star Wars Celebration or the Star Wars Annual. All of them are relevant to current collectors, and I’m always glad I listened since I always learn something I didn’t know before.

Great for all collectors! Very informative!
David’s podcast is a must for figure collectors! Even if you don’t collect pre-production pieces, it’s so interesting to learn about how figures were developed by Kenner and how it’s changed today. There’s also lots of other interesting and entertaining education along the way with Vintage auctions and rare collectibles. The production quality is great with good sound bits, effects and his voice is meant for radio.

    Mandatory Star Wars Listening
I love this podcast! David Quinn is an asset to the Star Wars collecting community and what I love most about listening to these are his emphasis on community. I’m not able to get out to many shows or meet up with too many collectors in person, but I really do value the few friendships I have made through collecting Facebook groups. I enjoy listening to the conversations between collectors on this podcast. There’s a ton of great advice here for new collectors and I value David’s authenticity. Really great stuff and the chill vibe throughout the podcast helps quiet the mind and become one with Force.

    Sublime. Dashing. Quality. SDQ!!!
This is Honesty. These are my first thoughts. This was me being perplexed as I wasn’t quite sure what to make of David and the podcast. I had only recently met him and his structured and researched podcast wasn’t my norm. This is about friendship. This is his knowledge and eagerness to learn and teach. This is hosted by a pillar in the community. And THIS...is Star Wars, Prototypes and Production. 🥰

    Great show
My son was around 1 at the Chicago celebration (he was at home with mom) and I grabbed him a Han Solo in hoth gear figure. He is turning 3 tomorrow and essentially plays with nothing but late 70's early 80's Kenner action figures. It's been a joy picking these figures from my youth online and seeing my son play with them. I ran across this podcast randomly and have listened to every episode great production value and knowledge. I'll never be a collector like this but I can't get enough oh his interviews with collectors allowing me to relive my youth. Keep up the good work you've got a fan here

    Simply one of a kind...
Let me start off by saying I don’t collect prototypes. I don’t collect the original Kenner toys. In fact, I only have one figure in my collection at the moment. Recently, I became interested in The Vintage Collection (TVC/3.75”) line of Star Wars figures. Being an avid podcast listener, I scoured the universe for any podcasts relating to TVC. It didn’t take long before I had listened to everything out there, so I expanded my search a bit. That’s when I came across Prototypes and Production. From the very first episode, I literally felt my eyes tear up at moments. I had never heard such a personable, down to earth podcast. And I had never felt that moved by a podcast episode, let alone one about Star Wars toys. I’m not ashamed to admit this same emotion has overcome me a handful of times during future episodes of this show. David is such a true storyteller. Whether it’s his own story or someone else’s story he is helping to tell. This show perfectly embodies what collecting should be and can be. Thank you so much for the work you do and I hope this show continues for years to come. I’m already dreading the day I reach the end of the episode list, as I’m sure it will be soon. And if I ever see you at a toy show, I’m definitely asking for a hug. Haha, thanks David!

    Amazing Podcast
I love this podcast! It’s so entertaining to listen to how the toys impacted you all those years ago and how you reflect back on those memories today. Keep up the great work! I can’t wait for the next adventure. I’m always ready to board the falcon with you and take a trip.

    Great podcast!
A brand new podcast that just dropped in early Jan 2019. David is very knowledgeable and easy to listen to. The first few episodes (Early Bird episodes) are an amazing look into the emotions and mindset of a vintage toy collector and David’s stories are so similar to many of us. His love for Star Wars toys comes through with every story he tells. I find that I can really relate to his passion and love for collecting. After the Early Bird episodes the podcasts shift from how David first started collecting to getting into his expansion into prototypes and pre-production items. Show is well produced and for vintage Star Wars collectors it is great to learn more about the how the toys were produced and get insights into this more specific niche in Star Wars toy collecting. Great guests and I cannot wait for more episodes. Keep up the great work!!

I was extremely excited when I heard about the concept behind this podcast and I was completely pleased with the outcome. David Quinn provides a unique perspective on a Star Wars collecting journey. I cannot wait for what’s to come with future episodes. The production quality is top notch and David has this wonderful calming delivery. I hope to hear much more from him
