CindieMAwesome!Keep up the great work Laurah! I have been listening & following your podcasts for sometime now. Thank you for your honesty & thorough research.
-
AbbyloudaisyDelightful mysteriesHighly recommend! These episodes are delightfully engaging mysteries to brighten your day and make you think. Karan and her team does a fantastic job researching, writing and presenting the stories. And Larah’s voice is so soothing! I’ve been a fan for several years of this and The Fall Line. Highly recommend!
-
KarajoyvmBest writingThese are the most interesting, fun, and thought-provoking stories told with the best narration I have ever heard on a podcast!
-
dedeindieAll recent episodesWhy are all your episodes behind a pay wall?
-
MoreBrandiWonderfully strange and entertainingThe voice grabs and keeps you in its creepy little story and you will love it!! And I want to listen again. And again.
-
123//--::Great stories/Great voiceI really enjoy the stories. The host infuses just enough humor to keep the tales paranormal. Very soothing voice.
-
LaaneeCommercials and premiumMust say voice is annoying plus so many commercials and to listen to the best stories you have to get premium. Times are tight. Don’t commercials pay for the good stories?
-
Chuck DumpsterPretty okNot anything too engaging, but a staple in the rotation. Tons of Rando unknowm info to send you down your own unexplored avenues and alleyways. Never one to exhaust a topic or go too deep. You are given just enough info to pique your interest, thus you get to do some further researching on your own time. To be honest, that is a refreshing quality that not alot of podcasts do. Typically you’re getting beat over the head with the subject being discussed. But its more like a brief breeze here. Which gives the listener the option to continue exploring topics on their own volition. Best podcast of its kind, easily.

Whitetail1Great!Great stories great narrator and great humor Really fun and unique
-
PariahsauceGOAT podcast in this genreI’ve sifted through so many bad paranormal podcasts. So many hacks out there trying to be Opie and Anthony while reading bad “spooky” Reddit posts and filling, countless hours of airtime with inane banter. One strange thing wastes no time, Covering interesting subject matter with a concise and engaging narrative. This is the definitive podcast of the genre.
-
karen.nikstranger rangerlaurah norton, in a voice as smooth, and dark, as molasses, brings listeners the news of the day, except for one strange thing: the news is of the paranormal, and the day is whenever something strange appeared in the local paper. an old doll seeking vengeance (robert, please don’t come after me because i said you were old), underground tunnels on fire for decades, the moth man? maybe you’ve been there, seen that, but the delight of one strange thing is in the delivery, the suspenseful unspooling that leads to the hitch. it is smart, funny, and strangely, all gleaned from the news archives. what more could anyone possibly want? except paranormal popcorn?
-
thejeangenie1974So much funOne strange thing is unique and entertaining-with great writing and the topics aren’t the same stories everyone else covers.
-
AJBPs memawVery enjoyableInteresting topics and nice to listen to.
-
SarahSarah21I love your podcastI love how you narrate and the jokes actually make me laugh out loud. I love that you are whitty and don’t use old outdated , easy cheap jokes/puns. I binged all your episodes now following for all the new ones. Thank you for your show!

Evilene32Love This Show!I’m a big true crime fan, but this show is always a welcome respite from that, giving me a ummmm…lighter kind of darkness? I love hearing about new cryptids and curses and such, and this show never fails to deliver! I always grin when Laura says “…except for one, strange thing…”
-
Hey1985Great little stories! This is a great podcast to listen to for odd and interesting little stories. They are told very well and I love the host Laurah Norton!
-
AlllliiisssooonOne of my favorites!Always a delight to see this show up on my playlist! I love the variety strange of topics and storytelling, and it is well-written and researched.
-
freddi91Perfect true crime/paranormal companionIf you’re a true crime, history, or paranormal fan, this is a perfect companion show for your rotation. I love hearing folklore that I haven’t heard before and learning about the strange history of local places. The research is spot on and the host is soothing and engaging. Love it!
-
Nick's Nick NameGreat Show!Absolutely love the podcast! The stories are always interesting, and the host speaks clearly and easily understood, unlike some other podcasts I’ve heard before
-
calija6Love this!I love this podcast. It’s well written and entertaining. I also like that I can listen to it with my teen.
-
JammininmypjsSo fun!Such a fun show, always finding stories I’ve never heard about with an engaging host as well!
-
n zinovaExtreme amount of adsI’ve never heard a podcast with more ads. Narrator sounds like Tricia Takanawa from Family Guy.
-
ifuseekaeAI voiceThis totally sounds like a generated voice.
-
T_CrimeFanA great talentSo well done and engaging! Not your average stories at all.
-
ReasonedoneToo Much SarcasmThe stories would be much better without the sarcastic telling. It takes away from the story being told.
-
Proffesor KittyGreat voiceAnd good stories!
-
mspassell574575 stars!!!I love Laurah
-
pamakerOne fine podcastLaurah Norton interesting, sensual voice tells stories that draw you in and keep you interested. Highly recommended!
-
HarryHarry11Great butThe ads are OUT of control.
-
XHimpxLost in the preambleI got tired after the first ten or so intros telling us how great these guys are. Get on with the show.
-
amdisneLOTS of adsI like the show and understand that podcasters have to make money, however the amount of ads given the length of the episode is completely disproportionate. I wish the episodes would be longer if there are going to be several minutes of ads.
-
Codename SanchoMy favorite podcast in the WORLDThe title says it all!!! I love it so much, Laura has a way with her delivery, her wit, and pseudo skepticism that make me want to subscribe to hear all the bonus episodes, and I would! Except for One. Strange. Thing… You see strangers, I am what most people would call a cheapskate and back in the year of our lord one thousand nine hundred and ninety three when I was just a wee lad of 10 short years old, my crisp one hundred dollar bill had vanished. My brother showed up to comfort me wearing his surprisingly new clothes and offered that perhaps aliens had taken it for gas money to get back home. I secretly loved that idea and since then have been a fan of the unexplained. This podcast tugs on my heartstrings in the most comforting way possible. Please don’t ever stop making new episodes and maybe one day I’ll come up out these pockets for all the extras you all are dangling right in front of me. Peace and Love Michael from Maryland
-
mkm rhythmsFun listenInteresting stories! Too many ads for the length of the podcast. But the stories are cool and I keep it in my list for entertaining listening!
-
ajfutebterrLove this podcastOne Strange Thing is the perfect marriage of writing and delivery. It’s funny and creepy and completely unique, I’ve gone through all of the episodes and started replaying some of my favorites. You don’t have to be a believer or a skeptic to enjoy this podcast, it’s all about the storytelling. Highly highly recommend.
-
coffee tawlkResearch? The stories are interesting but the inaccuracies are astounding. I just heard the host declare that the Flathead lake in Montana is the largest natural freshwater lake by surface area outside of Alaska….ummm, no. Lake Superior is the largest freshwater lake by surface area in the world, every 5th grader knows this, hire better fact checkers, pleass
-
ZeeghaLike the Podcast but Too Many Ads3 ads in a row from Daily Harvest does not improve my appetite. Yuck. If this continues, I’ll stop listening.
-
caaassggfjNnbhhI am being tracked by dragons
-
Pops.99Good Content, Annoying PresentationThe content is good, but I’m not sure why the host insists on such a terrible impersonation w/ her voice in more recent episodes. Edit: gave up on this. Script editing adding opinion/snarkiest and the continued terrible impersonation w/ her voice became too grating. Shame.
-
RobinFerrisReposting - This is such a great show!Laura Norton is very entertaining and somehow she manages to keep finding strange and interesting topics to talk about. Lots of the stories are ones you may have heard of or you think you’ve figured out the arc of the story as soon as she starts describing it. But as the title of the show indicates, most of the stories she narrates would either be mildly interesting or not interesting at all…except for one strange thing…
-
Keyta7777Great stories butHer voice, I tried, she sounds like a bad imitation of phoebe judge: I did not buoy the stories but I just can’t go any farther
-
OldSkittersWhy the shade?I’ve been listening since this podcast started and enjoyed it at first. However, as the podcast progressed, I’ve noticed the host will make snide comments about Massachusetts and New England. If the shade was spread around to other regions and just jokes made in good fun, I would laugh along. But the tone is condescending. And it’s weird to hear an insult about how a state is spelled while listening to a Bigfoot story. The host repeatedly shows an anti-North bias that is unnecessary in a paranormal podcast. Perhaps I don’t appreciate the show because it’s geared toward a much younger audience.
-
zenjenInteresting stories, polarizing voiceI love the content, usually stories I’ve never heard of which is awesome. But her voice….you are either gonna love it or hate it.
-
SubHubFamily friendly spookyFinally a podcast I can listen to with my kid! No cursing! Not that I’m against it but there’s a million podcasts yet almost none you can listen to in the car with children.
-
This name not chosenAddictive!Wow! Great topics, I’m hooked. Thank you.
-
JerdpaulIrritating narrationGood stories, poor and irritating narration
-
Redsox356Highly recommend!Great concept and perfectly executed. Wry style, but doesn’t try to be too joky and generally plays the stories straight. Subject matter is really fascinating. Have not heard most of these stories so far and listen to a lot of these type of podcasts. Laura has a wonderful voice.
-
BWSHousePhoebe Judge wannabe?I’m sorry to say I had to give up on this one quickly because I couldn’t stand the host’s Phoebe Judge impersonation.
-
Luke KojiSo much fun.Interesting stories. Fun presentation style. Really enjoy.
-
