I had the extraordinary opportunity to attend a lecture from Mr Claret, hosted by my local college in the early 90s. I waited around to meet him afterwards, and with my longish hair, unshaven face and third-hand vintage leather jacket, I was a clear disappointment as both an engineering student and a groupie. When I asked if he wanted to join me for some Columbian Snowshoeing, he perked up, slapped me on the shoulder and said, "Onward!" with a clear, confident air. We spent two and a half days neck deep in powder, girls, and ATM withdrawals. After crashing for 14 hours on my couch (both of us, simultaneously, platonically entwined) we concluded our reverie with a breakfast. I mean a whole spread. I didn't see him again until the deposition.

Steven Conrad’s work continues to astound. I’m writing this with only four chapters recorded and if it ended with that it would be enough, but to my knowledge Amazon “execs” can’t cancel this, so I’m eagerly awaiting more! *What an amazing Christmas present! I loved the short lived show with Michael Dorman and Kurtwood Smith, and when I googled it, this came up. I am so happy I was able to find it! Great writing, magical story-telling, and cool music.

So well written and so well executed. Kurtwood Smith is Leslie Claret. The world needs more insight into the story of the man with the woman’s name and the structural dynamics of flow. It would also be double great if we could hear more of the lives of the other Patriot characters.

The show Patriot was one of the best shows to ever exist, so the podcast accompanying it would only be one of the best podcast to ever exist also. Both are well written and clever. Wish both were longer and had more seasons and episodes.

Patriot was the greatest show ever. Perpetual Grace might have approached that level if it had gotten the chance. Both shows should have gone on for more seasons. This podcast gives us more of the things we loved in both shows. I was so thrilled to see a new episode today after such a long wait! I would listen to Leslie Claret read the ingredients of a box of Cheerios!

I sure listen to a lot of podcasts. I didn’t know they could be what this one is. “What’s the matter?” “Oh, you remember Patriot? Well, the podcast of the book referenced in that long-over tv show is so beautifully written that I am now weeping while loading the dishwasher.” You get it.

Really takes a deep thinker to comprehend the complex issues discussed here. Please, please make another season.

This is a thoroughly-empathetic and freakishly-accurate reflection of the many struggles endured by addicts and those affected by them. It is at times hilarious, and at times heartbreaking, and all the while a brilliant expression of deep moral and ethical philosophy juxtaposed with the inability of an individual to live up to the conception of his own "ideal" self. The musical numbers interspersed are exquisitely appropriate in creating the mood that the topics require, and are a discovery in themselves. I listened to this on 1X. Twice. Steven Conrad, Thank You! This is genius. Kurtwood Smith is a national treasure... Go watch "Patriot", then treat yourself to this, but be prepared to have a mirror held up to your very soul. It can be daunting in its relevance.

I am a big fan of Steve Conrad. Patriot and Perpetual Grace LTD. are gems. If you haven’t seen them both, you are in for a treat. Kurtwood Smith’ Leslie Claret is genius. Conrad’s work is on a par with Preston Sturges. I laughed, smiled and was moved. I’m so glad I found this podcast through Steve Conrad’s IMDB page. Keep up the good work, Mr. Conrad!

I’ve been sitting over my breakfast, my optimistic breakfast, and pondering where I’d be in my professional life without the Integral Principles of the Structural Dynamics of Flow. I was a shoddy piper once, but I put my head down, read this book, and got to work. Now I’m a real sure shot in my field. I mean I can’t believe that my company didn’t previously think to use pin flam-fastened pan traps at both maiden apexes of the jimjoints when planning for Donnely nut spacing and cracked system rim-riding grip configurations!! This book is a must read. I mean come on, guy, this is Leslie Claret we’re talking about here! From Galvanized United! THE Leslie Claret. I think it’s safe to say he knows what he’s talking about. If you want to shore up your piping, and your life, then this book is for you. Double great.

This is the audio hug you need today. Sure, it’s technically a spin-off from Patriot (an Amazon Prime show you should revel in), but this podcast is really just beautifully engineered audio telling an engaging, soothing, genius story independent from the show. If you’re interested in powerful narrative, creative story structure, a sweet chuckle, character development, parenthood, or how sound engineering can make magic, this is your podcast. If you like quality, this is for you. It’s cool.

One wouldn’t think listening to this podcast would be so calming but it is. The stories Leslie tells have little life lessons, some obvious, some not as much. It definitely provides insight into his Patriot character. Now I feel the need to watch the show again, but doing so is so sad because when it ends, you know there’s no more. I hope more of this podcast is made, but if it too has come to an early end (like the show), at least there are these four episodes to savor.

Lost my dad over 5 years ago now and sadly didn’t discover Patriot before he was gone. We shared similar senses of humor and I know that he would’ve loved the show as much as I do. I’m also confident that Leslie would’ve been his favorite character as he is mine. Being able to listen to Leslie read from his own book allows me a sort of comfort at anytime I choose. While it makes me miss my dad, it also makes me feel close to him like very few things can and for that I am very thankful that people like Steve Conrad exist. A singular voice that is unlike any other voice I have heard before and a voice that I love as much as I know my dad would have too.

This podcast has been a great way to plug the Patriot shaped hole in my life. Steven Conrad’s writing style is among my favorites, and few perform it as excellently as Kurtwood Smith. Looking very forward to discovering more of the Patriot universe through the pinnacle of Leslie Claret’s life’s work, which is the basis for this podcast. It is not “pretty good”, it is definitely “cool”.
