PortlandMommaThe next Terry Gross!Deepa Fernandes is the next Terry Gross!!! 🙌🙌🙌
-
YaditexasDeepa FernandesIs not a real journalist. She allowed an Israeli representative aka propagandist speak on the show about how Israelis feel unsafe. They are playing ball at the beach, eating at restaurants while in Gaza there are not schools or hospitals left. Children are literally torn apart and starved by the Israeli army. Here and Now is not true journalism. Just another entertainment show.

Carol WetterauerReverse course:green living in New MexicoFantastic! Wish I could’ve heard this podcast as a young woman. Will think twice however before turning up the ac,

Bobo Jenkins 1Great Reporting & Compelling StoriesHere & Now is one of my favorite podcasts to listen to. From multifaceted reporting on the biggest stories of the day to the nuanced detail of interesting and slightly obscure stories you won’t find anywhere else, Here & Now has it. Exceptional reporting from host Chris Bentley and his full team.
-
KellythisismestopGood stuffI enjoy Here & Now daily to help understand what the heck is going on. There is so much news everyday & I appreciate the updates.
-
everythingsjake418Informative and not noisyEnjoyable and informative without being overwhelming and noisy. Definitely worth checking out!
-
Berto old maninformedThere is hope in the podcast. Very informative. I love NPR
-
EdorgsApril 20, 2024How could you possibly not ask Hatem Abudayyeh if Hamas bares responsibility for the destruction and deaths in Gaza after he accused Israel of genocide? Also how about a more critical analysis of the Hamas generated death toll that you take as gospel. This was an extremely poor and one sided interview.
-
KBGunnyGood VarityUseful info covering a range of important topics.
-
nut sauceAlways interestingI listen while cooking dinner and by the time dinner plates hit the table I feel caught up on the big stories of the day and learn something new - a new person in arts and culture or just a new way of thinking about things. Worth the time 100%
-
LoviefourTop class journalismDo not miss out on wonderful interviews by the most highly educated, intelligent and knowledgeable hosts. I have learned so much over many years of listening. The subject matter is always entertaining and informative. It is so important to hear different opinions and perspectives other than your own. Definitely five star rating.
-
heathandpeteAlways a Good listen20+ years of listening to this show, it’s always good. I notice all the negative reviews in here are from either gun owners who can’t handle facts and/or racists. So, clearly they’re doing something right if they’re pissing off those groups.
-
e85galNicely doneSome news but then also a story that’s more in-depth. Rational, not just breaking news.
-
WeWILLnotCOMPY1619 Project of Gun HistoryThis podcast performs mental gymnastics to claim America’s gun industry was built on racism and to help slave owners. Sadly NPR doesn’t just tell history stories anymore, instead everything must fit through their narrow lense focused on race.
-
John VerValenThe gun machineYour new program “the gun machine “ is so biased and factually incorrect it is not even funny. Why don’t you just name it we hate guns? You should be ashamed of yourselves. I guess it is true, journalism is truly dead !!!
-
NN-KCNo longer has the entire showI love Here and Now (esp. Robin Young!) and have been listening for years. I do not like the new format of the podcast, as it no longer includes the entire show. Why the change? Please bring back the full show!
-
AL_5785224It’s crazy how bad this podcast has gotten…Its gone from a daily must-listen to absolutely unlistenable in a matter of months. Devastating. But also kind of impressive how quickly they destroyed it. I wouldn’t have even thought it was possible to make a long-standing success such an astonishing failure so quickly.
-
beanie8888888Unsubscribing. Miss the full versionIf it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I don’t want my news “Curated.”
-
skilliansNot the complete showI miss the days when I listened to both of the days’s podcasts on my commute. Now I listen to H&N anytime, and then use my WBUR app to listen to my favorite, shorter sections. Each time a segment finishes, I need to put in my phone’s password and then open the app, close that segment and open a new one. While I’m driving……
-
cachorrito02Where is the long format?Unsubscribing. This curated version is not of my liking. I tried. But I can’t. The stories are the ones I’m not interested in when comparing it to the full program. I also miss Robyn’s stories/interviews. Good bye.

TheDudeAbidedLong-time listener but....... NPR has changed, and signed up to a highly partisan one-dimensional spreading of the woke gospel, with little to no alternate perspectives on offer. The programming, on a daily basis, has almost become predictable in all the virtue-signaling issues it’s going to hit upon. You can tune into this, Morning Edition, All Things Considered, NPR Politics Podcast, and get the exact same perspective from every one, with no argument or dissent. I guess it’s an age of hyper-partisan media, but the bias here is more apparent than ever. Even though I probably agree with half of it, I expect a good news program to challenge me, and to challenge itself, in reporting from different perspectives. Can’t say that happens much here, it’s all “systemic racism” all the time for NPR’s 85% guilt-ridden white audience.

GrlPwrWhy the change away from the regular episodes? I’m not a fanI miss the full broadcasted episodes of here and now! I wish they still had them on iTunes

New York Listener 2Anywhere, Any timePodcast format is great. I’m not tied down to my radio. I also enjoy the selection of stories from which to choose. Thanks.
-
FelsinaA travestyIt’s so sad what’s been done to this podcast. I hardly listen to it anymore, though I listened to it every day before they ruined it. It just doesn’t work as a twenty-minute podcast and on the rare occasions when I’m able to catch the show on the radio and can compare it to this truncated version, I realize that the segments selected for the podcast are exactly the ones I’m least interested in.
-
MAtransplantNot a fanWell I tried. Gave this new format as much as my time as I could. Mark me as “unfollowing “. Let me know when you are back to the former 2 hour podcast format. Like others, I’m not able to listen live when this broadcasts in MA nor when it is broadcast in my current state.
-
1tfrWho moved my cheese??What happened to my two full daily episodes of H&N? This curated “best of” may be liked by some but It’s not easy to listen to the full 2 hours on demand from WBUR website. No ability to play at 1.5x or 2x speeds. Please bring back 2 full episodes as option on apple podcasts. I’m in withdrawal.
-
M.J.FranksShow fragments?I understgand the motivation for a shorter podcast. But rather than sever most of the program, it might be better to create 2-3 segments so those that missed something could still access it.For example, "Late Night Live - Separate stories podcast" (ABC Radio International) does a great job with the concept. More effort perhaps, but more listeners too. Using the archives is hugely inconvenient, (I have done it). Rather than grab the tidbit from a podcast app, I need to download it, convert it to 'podcast' and finally put it in my queue.
-
AngryExHPI miss the old formatI often can’t listen live and used to wait till evening to hear the show. I need to find a way to “tape” the show and listen later. I miss so many great stories with the new format. Is there any way to subscribe yearly like with the NPR Politics podcast?
-
LikethelivindeadFull show pleaseIn the not too distant past the entire two hour episode was available for the podcast the same day he played on the radio. Now you get two or three of the main stories. It’s honestly not worth your time there’s too many other wonderful programs and podcasts. If they would return to the original format, that would be appreciated.

dmart419Missing full episodesStill missing the whole episodes please bring them back

Ripped My PantsFull Show - Where is it?Full show. Bring it back. Why waste time editing it? Just upload it! Fire the person who made this decision. You making a pay wall?
-
LaxbroripperMiss the old podcastMiss getting the radio version podcast of the show. Don’t like this edited version. Not sure why they made the switch??
-
FishEfaceI miss the full versionsI’m not able to listen to the broadcast of the show during the day and looked forward to listening to the full show every evening. I’m ver disappointed that the podcast was reduced. Bring back the previous format.
-
579742580954I loved the older format with extended shows!I used to listen to here & now every night getting ready for bed, but I also learned so much! The new format is too short and I miss the variety of story content in the longer format. Could you release a condensed version and a longer version?
-
V'70Bring Back the Previous FormatWhy did you make the decision to condense this show? I miss the twice daily podcast. Please bring back the old format. I don’t want to delete this podcast from my feed but I may have too since it doesn’t provide all the news stories I want to hear.
-
Bristaylor‘Twas better there and then! What happened? Instead of the entire episode, with delightful host interaction and the flow of variety, it’s now just a blah curation of the most “important “ stories? And where’s Kathy Gunst? Boo.
-
MarthamaywhoooPls bring back the full showJust make a separate pod for the curated version and pls give me back my old show 🙏🏽
-
MKULTRA83UghWho still listens to this?
-
Rosew00dsPrefer the old formatThe new format only covers some of the news. I preferred the old format so much more.
-
mccc2wpuMiss the old versionThis is a great show, but I miss the full version being available on podcast
-
Skeptical BananaBring back full podcastsIt is cumbersome to listen to full show now. Please allow an option via podcast. Or at least explain why you did this? I feel cheated.
-
scottyfinmnOnce the best……news show in my podcast feed, now a random selection of highlights from it. The full program is now only available on an app lacking many features of a podcast. I’m just going to get my news by morning edition now, apparently. 5 stars to the old version, one to the ill-advised change.
-
JMCMOM1701Bring back the originalI dislike the new podcast….would love to see the actual show come back.
-
listener since 2017New version is not the bestI appreciate the hard work that they did to make a new and fresh podcast, but I would preferred if they went back to the way it was before. I really did enjoy that format prior to this change
-
midwestBlue8.22wow, i love when republicans say michels won because he is an outsider that never held office and a businessman. hmmm gop already did that/trump and look what a chaotic mess trump has created and keeps on causing. republicans do not have 1 ounce of logic in their voting selection(s).
