    The Ultimate Maiden Podcast Experience
Talking Maiden has been an incredible addition to my Iron Maiden journey. Every episode is packed with insights, humor, and deep dives that make it a must listen. Beware; you’ll want to binge this show! Hosts Nesbitt and Josh bring so much passion and knowledge, breaking down the albums with great music clips that showcase Maiden’s incredible sound. They bring on amazing special guests, and the best part is, listening feels like hanging out with friends, talking about your favorite band, enjoying great music, and sharing laughs. This podcast has made me an even bigger fan! It perfectly captures how Maiden’s legacy touches listeners worldwide, keeping the passion for their music alive. Truly a podcast by the fans, for the fans. Up the Irons!

    THE Maiden podcast
This is my first day listening to this podcast and already love it. They both know their stuff and gives me ideas to think about. I have been listening to Iron Maiden for four years now. And I’ve been wanting to hear opinions on all of the Maiden legacy. I would recommend this to any Iron Maiden fan. UP THE IRONS!

    A timeless podcast
The quintessential Iron Maiden Podcast. Hilarious, critical, informative and an absolute pleasure to enjoy…

    Love the Album Analysis
I was a fan of Maiden when growing up in the eighties. After No Prayer for the Dying I checked out, though I subsequently heard a few cuts from Fear of the Dark and the Bailey era. Recently, I decided to revisit the catalog. This podcast has helped me tremendously on this journey as I explore and fall in love with the reunion albums for the first time. The track by track breakdown is fantastic! Great job!

    Up the Irons!
I don’t know if it’s awesome or sad how much I look forward to this podcast! Love it!

    Time Machine
Josh is correct, Time Machine is the worst song on the album. The lyrics of the first verse are horrible. Rhyme machine with been and Extraordinaire with there. Sorry Nesbit, those are bad. Love the show, so glad you are back. Up the Irons.

    Best podcast ever.
I started listening in 2019 and still listen to it all the time today. It was a sad day that Friday morning when the episode “The End?” Hit Apple podcasts. Very well done show guys. Hope to hear y’all take on another band one day. Y’all are too good at what you do to just leave it with Maiden.

    Down The Hops!!!
Very informative Iron Maiden podcast. Josh and Nesbit are hilarious guys and do a lot of research prior to each show. Hope they occasionally come back for special episodes once or twice a year.

    If only....
I wish I had listened to this podcast as episodes were released. I’ve only just started - maybe through a couple dozen at this point - and I am hooked. The nice thing about jumping in at this point is that I can choose the topic from 100+ episodes. Maybe it’s better this way. If I had listened all along I probably would have driven Josh and Nesbit nuts with emails each week. Great content here. Very thorough reviews. Good candid discussion. I like hearing about the different beers as well. Maybe we’ll get another Maiden album and a few new episodes?? Thanks guys for your time and sharing your perspectives. Up the Irons!

    Mostly Excellent
This is an informative, enjoyable and interesting podcast. One critique is that one of the hosts (Josh) doesn’t seem to know as much as he should about Maiden and generally adds only “yeah, uh-huh, I like the vocals” or “deadly” to the commentary. The clips are typically helpful and cool but tend to be a bit too long. Still, overall it’s great for Iron Maiden fans with tons of info and otherwise great insight.

    Wonderful
I discovered this podcast several months ago and recently took a week long road trip. I was able to pretty much listen to episodes and catch up during a 3,000 mile drive. Love these guys - great insight, great humor and they are not afraid to be critical when needed. I’m somewhat disappointed they are winding down the podcast - because we always crave more of the good things. But it is also understandable. One of the best podcasts out there...Up The Irons and Down The Hops.

    Simply Awesome
As the show is getting near it’s end, I find myself reflecting on the last 3 years of listening to this podcast. Now I didn’t start listening until about May of 2018, but I have listened to all of the podcasts available. It’s sad to see a podcast with such passion about their content, production, and overall joy, coming to an end. From reviewing albums in one to two episodes, to the energetic episode of the LOTB setlist reveal, to having almost one entire episode on The Angel and the Gambler. I forgot how much, and how long this podcast has been apart of my life for the last two and a half years. It definitely rekindled my love for Maiden, who I already considered to be my favorite band. There’s other Maiden podcasts out there, but none that captures the passion/celebration of being a Maiden fan quite like this one. Good luck in the future, cheers boys!

    Funny and full of knowledge
I feel like I have known them for years and we’re sitting in a bar talking about Maiden. Josh and Nesbit are great on this podcast. I’ve been a Maiden fan since 1987 and I am learning so much from them. The guys give an awesome mix of in-depth knowledge mixed with “I like it because I like it” emotion. Almost as good as their Maiden knowledge are the sidetrack conversations/ arguments they have. The only thing I don’t like is that I didn’t find their podcast until recently. Thanks for doing this!

    So good!
These guys are great. Josh is funny and Nesbit is a Maiden research genius. I look forward to every Friday for a new episode.

    Iron Maiden Rules!
I’ve been listening to this show for a couple of months now, not sure why I didn’t search out a Maiden podcast sooner, but I love it! I enjoy feeling like I’m I the room with some other Maiden fanatics because I do talk to them when I listen! So it’s like I’m there too! Lot’s of great facts about the band and my only complaint is sometimes you learn too much and then you think a guy in the band is a jerk or something sometimes! But hey, Maiden rules and this is a great show so keep it up and UP THE IRONS!

    The Best!
I love Iron Maiden and love this podcast! As a Maiden fan since 1982 I thought I knew everything there is to know about them but I learn something new almost every show. These guys know what they are doing and it shows. Up the irons!

Up the Irons and Down the hops
The guys dig deep!!! You want Iron Maiden history. Nesbitt is your man. Josh has the perspective of a newer fan which is refreshing to us old school fans. The two blended together form a brilliant and deep conversation about Maiden and the history of each album. You won’t be disappointed!!!

    Talking Maiden
Up the Irons, down the Hops! Classic podcast for Iron Maiden fans, Josh Nad Nesbit do a great job reviewing albums, talking about the latest news, and drinking beers. It’s a great time if you like the band!
  • bigsloth
    Love it
These guys don’t waste time with 10-20 minutes of often unfunny and inane banter like so many other music podcasts before getting to the material at hand. I love it for the album reviews and all the history surrounding any various Maiden records. They know their stuff. 🤟🤟
  • Mangeddy
    Greetings from NY!
This is definitely the best Maiden podcast available today. Just started listening last week and am catching up on all episodes. Thank you for such a great listen. Up the Irons!
  • Texbassman68
    Great Podcast
Love the podcast; these guys are 95% on the money but they enthusiasm and beer reviews make up for it. How dare they leave out “Total Eclipse” as one of Maiden’s best B-Sides on episode-18??? That’s ok, I forgave them for pointing me in the direction of Night Demon... Thanks guys and Keep up the good work and beer drinking... #UptheIrons

    Tons of great Maiden “stuff”
Listening to Josh and Nesbit break things down is a highlight of the day. Oddly makes me look forward to the commute to and from home. Up the Irons; Down the hops (and give Blaze a chance people! 🤟)

    One of my favorites
Every episode is like talking Maiden over a beer with two exceptionally well-Informed but down to earth super fans. Always well done and worth listening to.

    Awesome podcast!
I’ve developed a much greater appreciation and love for Iron Maiden thanks to these guys. They’re passionate about the music and provide really interesting, in-depth analysis of all things Maiden. Listening to this podcast is like getting together with your buddies, cracking open a brew, and talking about your favorite band for an hour. Keep up the great work, guys! Up the irons!

    Great podcast!
Just about every evening I spend time listening to a bit of the podcast. It is a great way to close out a day! Keep upping the irons guys!
  • Walower
    Love this.
I love your show. I am currently listening to you talk about the solos in “Maybe Lighting Strikes Twice” (older show, right after Killers 2). It almost seems that Dave Murray does a bit at the beginning and then Janick comes in for the final half. I don’t know if you’ve covered this or not, but “Don’t Look to the Eyes of a Stranger” has a full, two minute breakdown, of Blaze saying “don’t look to...” over and over and over and over. I wanna bash my face off of my desk...:). Again, love the show. I think I’m on Episode 24-25.

    Great podcast!
I was in college in the 1980's, and I got into Maiden in the summer of 1985 with the Powerslave album (on cassette tape, of course). I saw them live during the tour supporting Somewhere in Time, and I loved the 7th Son album (on cassette) but life intervened. I paid attention during the No Prayer and Fear of the Dark era, but I drifted away after Bruce Dickinson left the band and I never came back .... until I came across this podcast. I gave the podcast a try, and Josh and Nesbit reignited my interest in the band. I have gone back and given the albums that I missed a fair shake and now I realize what I was missing! They even got me to give the Blaze albums a chance ... they'll never be among my favorites, but I have a better appreciation for those records now. What I like most about this podcast is that it gives me a chance to sit down once a week or so with a couple Maiden fans and just totally geek out about the band. Great job guys ... keep it up!

Love Maiden. Love people talking about Maiden.

    Great Maiden Podcast
Great podcast discussing all things Maiden, with some great beer recommendations sprinkled in each show. So glad this show made me realize how great Maidens modern albums are, and I can’t stop listening to them. There is so much more to Maiden than their first 7 albums. Definitely recommend this show! Keep up great work.

    Good, in-depth look at IM
A podcast by two Maiden fans in Canada. It avoids the pitfalls of fan criticism pretty well as there isn’t too much “yeah, that was awesome! or “I love that part”. Plus, they come up with some tidbits that even I, as a 35+ year fan of the band, didn’t know. I would give this 5 stars if Nesbit would do this alone or find a different cohost. Josh doesn’t know nearly as much about the band as even a causal fan would, leaving Nesbit to carry the show. Josh’s main contribution consists of “that’s garbage” to anything he doesn’t like. Calling the Beatles garbage is a shaky stance by even the most ardent metal head. We get it, you don’t not like Ozzy - but calling him garbage on nearly every episode is just ignorant. As Josh put it, on some of the Kiss podcasts, not everyone is an expert, but it doesn’t matter since the hosts are entertaining. Not sure Josh is either. But maybe if he would do some prep, he can step up his game in the future.
